Fun game for the whole family. Good for 4/5 years or older. My 4 does have a hard time controlling the turn because the game changes from land to air to water, it’s just how the game play is.Graphics is okay, game control is not bad. Kids friendly, with many characters to pick from. Overall animation is great. If the game senses that a player is struggling with certain aspect of the game, such as turning, it will suggest a guiding line for the player.This game is a good alternative to Mario Kart. You can do 4 players split screen.
Challenging levels an neat game play
I bought Sonic ASRT to have a multiplayer x-box game that didn’t involve shooting people. Even the skeptics among my friends, who thought they’d hate it, have come to enjoy playing it for hours when I come over.The maps are visually interesting and range from moderately challenging to very difficult. Besides straight racing maps, the career mode also throws in a variety of challenges to mix things up. Some of these challenges are actually more fun than the actual races (in my opinion of course). The transitions between cars, boats, and planes keep the game fresh, interesting, and challenging.As for multiplayer abilities, the game lets you play up to 4 players through the entire career mode. Players can join in and drop out at will, and a level is passed as long as one player meets the race/challenge requirements. Also, you can do up to 4 players in circuit race, which pits the players against computers just like in career mode, except that this time each player (human and computer) is given points based on how they place in each of 4 or 5 races. The player with the most points at the end wins.Now for the reason I only gave it 4 stars. As far as I can tell, the game doesn’t have a "Team Circuit Race" option where 4 players could join up with a couple computers and share points while racing a circuit against another team of computers. This means that my multiplayer options are limited to career mode and circuit race. Circuit race isn’t cooperative, and makes it feel lik.
At first, I was really hesitant about this game. Tons of comparisons between this and Mario Kart 7 were flying all over the place at the time. Regardless, the game is well made enough that a casual gamer can find a good time with this. Honestly, I prefer this over MK7, but really only if I do not have to control a the boat mode of the vehicles. Controlling your vehicle on water can be incredibly difficult because if you turn too sharply, you’ll lose most of your momentum and ram into the wall.I also experienced delayed actions countless times while playing. An example of this is I move the right thumbstick twice to have my character perform two tricks just after making a jump when on screen, the character doesn’t respond until just before they hit the water again, and performing three flips when I had only wanted to do two. The physics in this game are better than the first, but they can still screw with your race and cost you a victory.While I can appreciate wanting to increase replay value, certain challenges in World Tour simply do not belong. I don’t normally swear more than once or twice in a sentence when agitated, but so many of these challenges had me throwing my controller over my shoulder and spouting so much profanity. Fortunately, no children were present at the time. Whoever thought traffic attack was a good idea needs to be flogged. Nuff said.Sumo said the game would be more balanced, but I kind of disagree there. All the other characters go all star left and ri.
My 6 yr old and my husband are constantly playing this game. They love the racing and it has lots of levels and it has rounds for each game. The only thing that bothers me about this game is that your hands will hurt at first until you can figure out how to hold the controls when you drive. Make sure your kids rest their hands in between games.
Lot’s of fun and a great Family game we can all play together with Great, fun graphics, easy controls and fun characters. We especially enjoy the battle feature which is similar to Mario Cart. The only thing I don’t like at all is it does not appear that you can play multiplayer with just yourselves. The game generated racers are always there, no matter what race or settings you choose. If anyone knows of a way around this where we could race just against ourselves please let me know, thanks.
My 4-yr old loves this game. It reminds me of Mario Kart a bit, but it’s nice you get to play with different characters and other sorts of transportation. Would recommend for children.
Worked great when we first bought it but then quit working a few months after our purchase. Not sure if it was the game or our system.
Fun game. Lost one star because the little clip that holds the game in the case was broke so it was sliding around in there. Game played fine though so not a big deal.

My kids got this for Christmas. They are HUGE MarioKart fans (Wii) but converting over to Xbox, there wasn’t much for choices like that. The kids really seem to like this game and have played it a lot since they opened it. Would definitely recommend for younger kids (mine are 8 and 6).

Have you ever been playing Mario Kart and wished you could have all the fun but with a little less shananigans of blue turtle shells and the like ruining things for the good drivers? Well this is a game for you. This is fun and cartoony but leaves something on the table for those of us that can drive their butts off. I like family fun but I like a challenge as well. This game will give you a challenge!. I have had it a week and I am still loving it as I unlock new characters. THIS IS NOT YOUR GIRL FRIEND’S MARIO KART! A couple of races and you will say the same. Fun will be had by all. Get all the other Sonic games out of your mind (Free Riders). This game rocks. I’m 38. ;>)

Bought this game for our oldest son for Christmas. He loves it!! It is perfect for his age at 7, he can figure out how to play without too much help. A good variety of tracks & different play!!!

I bought that game after renting it from Redbox. My two boys thought this game was awesome. As an adult, I find it very entertaining. You can play up to four players! Which is great when friends come over. First you choose your race course and then your racer. As you go along the race course you find your racer changing from a car, to a speedboat, to a plane. Such a fun game!

This hame is a blast! You can race alone or against each other. My 3 year old loves it! We start on easy level. As he masters that we can go to medium then hard. He loves that the vehicle transforms! The controls are easy enough for this 50 year old mom to figure out how to use! So I can play with him which he also likes! My teens like it because of the different characters and challenges and they can play with youngest brother and he can actually keep up. It’s clean and I love that. We discovered this game in the back of a hot wheels game box. If you have a kiddo that likes racing or cars they will love this game! It’s our most played game!

Sonic hasn’t been good in a long time. That said, I avoided the two cart racers with the Sonic and Sega name on them when they were released.Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list, and the review scores were very good, with many saying it was equal to or better than Nintendo’s Mario Kart series. Really?! Now I am interested!Because of Gamestop’s price gouging practices, any game added to the backwards compatibility list suddenly doubles or triples in price. This means Gamestop currently charges $30 for a used copy, disc only, in a generic box.retrolio had it new for under $16.00! SOLD!I actually got it for my kids, but my boys, my wife, and I have all been playing it and enjoying it since it arrived yesterday afternoon. Four player and two player games are quite fun and looks awesome on a 60" HDTV. I remember playing four player Goldeneye on a 32" CRT TV back in the day, so kids today are very spoiled. The game is great. It’s frustrating (in a good way), huge levels, lots of modes, old Sega characters and tracks based on their games, and fun unlockables. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes couch games for the whole family and enjoys a good cart racing game… Better than Mario Kart??? Yes… Yes it is!
