I had received a copy, and found that it was not genuine. The TM was not there below the Nintendo sealand the cartridge was a light grey. I was expecting a bit more from the retrolio warehouse. I ended up receiving a discount from retrolio after contacting support, so there is the saving grace. Buyers beware.

This is a remake of Pokémon Silver, but with quite a few updates. The graphics are crisp, they’ve added new things to do in old locations, and your lead Pokémon will follow you around. If I remember the original Silver correctly, this updated version also seems a fair amount harder, for some reason. I’m not sure if the Pokémon level up more slowly, or their base stats have changed, or what…The original Silver was my favorite Pokémon game when I was a child. This remake stays true to the original, so it has a special place in my heart. As a side note, in the Pokémon games released after this one, your lead Pokémon can no longer follow you around. That feature was adorable and I’m confused why they would take it away. I’ve heard many people (children and adult players) say that they really liked it and hope it comes back.

The pokemon soulsilver is pretty similar to the game we been play before in game boy color silver version. But now the soulsilver have many many of feature that silver never had before. The nice thing that come with soulsilver is the steppometer, which allowed to track player’s pokemons’ experience and chance to get mystery gifts. The nintendo ds of soulsilver make trade able pokemon from second generation to newer generation, which mades pretty good. But the only thing is that I don’t know what should I do with my original silver and gold version in game boy color, because they can’t trade with game boy advance system and nintendo ds system…

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my brother, only to find out that I’m out the $52 (total of ~$70 with shipping) and now own a half-functioning copy of Soulsilver. Almost half the time I tried to boot it up and test if it works it gives me an error message that, “The save data could not be accessed,” pictured with this review. Otherwise the game functions after some trial and error. In the end, at least it’s a functioning copy of one of the rarer Pokemon games for the DS, even if it is a tad broken.

Because it has SO much content and the game play is addictive and the music OMG the MUSIC brings eargasm to my ear. These Gen 2 Remakes of Gold and Silver are not only some of the best Pokemon games, but IMO, one of the best games of all time. Recommend for all ages, and yes that include adults. Please try it out and don’t be discourage because of insecurity if you’re an adult because this game along with HeartGold are worth it if you like RPG and are a gamer.

As a kid, I started off with Ruby being my first Pokemon game. However, I did manage to get my hands on an original Crystal and started playing it. When Soul Silver and Heart Gold came out I said that I had to have it. The graphics are your good Diamond and Pearl ones and the battle speed was fixed from them. (Platinum was fixed for this problem as well) The game story is great, especially the fight with, SPOILER ALERT Red from the original games. His Pokemon are around level 90. As an anniversary of Pokemon Yellow they added any Pokemon to be able to walk with you outside of its Poke ball. I thought this was one of the games greatest aspects as my Shiny Alakazam and Magnezone can appear shiny even as they follow you. The Poke walker is kind of a failed try to get kids to be more active but you can attach it to your dryer and get mad points… Anyway I think this game might be the best Pikemon game made so far. No joke. I’m serious. 10/10

One of the best Pokemon games I’ve ever played. I remember not liking Silver as much as Blue, but this remake is remarkable. I’ve played all of the main series pokemon games, and even after Black, X, and Omega Ruby came out, this still holds up as one of the most fun I have played. Much better than Diamond and totally worth playing even though it is dated now.

So happy I finally found a copy for less than $100! The cartridge rattles a little bit, but it worked the very first time I booted it up, and so far it hasn’t frozen on me mid game. That’s about all I could ask for.

I bought this game as I had missed it due to never owning a DS and going straight to the 3DS. having your Pokemon follow you brings me back to my copy of Pokemon Yellow (and matching Yellow Gameboy Color, of course) I had in elementary/middle school.I purchased this now to tie me over until X/Y is released and also be able to get some more pokemon to transfer over to use.The Pokewalker is a fun little pedometer add on that counts your steps and will slightly level a pokemon while giving you chances to catch rare pokemon or find items the more steps it registers. It is small enough that I just throw it in my pocket in the morning and after work it has gained my steps and is ready to transfer the pokemon back to the game.Highly recommend this to anyone who loves Pokemon or even someone new to the series and wanting to see what the craze is all about before deciding if they want to get X/Y.

I remember playing Pokemon Red on my Gameboy Pocket when it came out, just to put things into perspective. Red became red and blue, gold and silver, ruby and sapphire, diamond and pearl and I dont even consider myself a fan of pokemon and yet have played each installment along the way. Simply put Pokemon puts a new take on many popular leveling and party based RPG mechanics. As with most RPGs, you get to level a character or characters along the way, well in pokemon there are 100 levels and it takes quite some time to get there, so there is plenty to work towards. On top of that, each pack has roughly 150 pokemon (often some are new with certain ones from older generations making cameos) to catch until you unlock the ability to trade ones from other packs and unlock however many the current total is. Simply put the ability to catch hundreds of different characters with different abilities, type combinations and moves amounts to lots and lots of possibilities. That open-endedness combined with a very linear but not dull storyline puts most other RPGs to shame. Plenty of options but hard to get lost.In a nutshell, the graphics and storyline are very PG so dont expect more, but the game mechanics behind it are top notch and what makes the game so addictive. That being said there are a few things about silver worth noting. The pokemon in your top slot follows you around. Ever since yellow I wished I could walk around with my starter or other favorite pokemon. Wish granted. Function.
