I shouldn’t have gotten this from retrolio. The box of the game was Miss was sorta crushed so I was pretty mad about that. I enjoyed this game a lot definitely one of the best Pokemon games

  2. DYL

As a old-school pokemon fan, I’m more familiar with first and second gen than the later generations (not that there is anything wrong with the later ones at all; just haven’t been following). After picking up the pikachu edition of 3ds XL, I feel like a soulsilver version is a must-buy. Much more improved graphics and game elements comparing to the original gold/silver versions. I shall once again spend numerous hours playing this game, just like my past self with pokemon yellow, blue, and silver.

played this game years ago and loved it. This was actually the first pokemon game i have 100% beaten and even with that, it was still very fun to play after beating it. 10/10

A bit finicky with getting it to work on some systems as one pin is a bit scratched, but it’s not a big deal and could be easily fixed

I was excited to buy this game for my son as I found it on here for a discounted price rather than buying from retrolio itself. Upon arrival, the game ran smoothly as my son reported no problems with it. However, a few days later we noticed that several actions in the game ( such as playing at the game corner in Goldenrod city) caused it to crash. Confused, I closely examined the cartridge and realized that the sticker was off and oddly colored, the Nintendo logo was shifted, and the infrared sensor on top of HGSS games was not present in this one. The cartridge is also made of a flimsy grey plastic instead of nintendo’s harder black one. Pokémon in this game can’t be transferred to new ones and will result in an error screen if attempted. My son and I are very dissatisfied and disappointed. Please don’t let this same scam happen to you.

I bought this back when it was still reasonably priced. I definitely would never buy it for my kids at this price. This seemed a decent game for my kids. It got a lot of play in the beginning. That tapered off and got occasional play for a while longer until they "finished" it.For the 20 bucks I paid, I think the amount of play they got was about average as DS games go

To explain the gameplay is great, I will simply say that it is a remake of a great and classic game.I am writing this review just to state how the two screens were used versus Diamond/Pearl versions. The bottom screen controls PC operations and moving monsters from party to box or box to box has never been easier. A lot of things have been moved to the touch screen which is really intuitive. The Poketch has been replaced by PokeGear which has only 4 functions instead of many. It’s simpler to use, and you can select any single one from any single page. The Poketch in Diamond/Pearl required users to tap a button over and over to rotate to the “application” they wanted to use. If you miss it, have fun going around all over again. Managing items in the backpack is also much better. Although there’s a lot of room for improvement, it’s more than simply text based on the top screen. Now you can see a picture of each item and a description of 6 (or is it 8? I don’t remember) at a time. You can scroll through pages easily to view your 30+ or whatever items many at a time. In D/P, you could highlight one at a time only on the top screen.Simply put, playing Diamond after Soul Silver, I was almost frustrated with the Diamond user-interface after Soul Silver’s improvements.
