My daughter loves this DS game, but has commented that the online computer version is more fun because more options are available.

If your child enjoys the online Poptropica games, then they should enjoy this DS version as well. The controls are much easier to use than the ones on the computer; the graphics are good and look the same as the online game; the challenges are a bit easier than the online version (which is a plus for my daughter); the ‘extra’ characters also need assistance, which is not an option in the online game; and the portability is great. The main drawback is that there are only 3 islands to complete on the DS game- a task my 7 year old daughter completed in less than 2 days. I would think that for the price of this game, there would be more islands to unlock or tasks to complete, but that just isn’t the case.Overall, we would recommend Poptropica Adventures for your school-aged child. Just be aware it may not keep them occupied for all that long.
