A avid fan of Pride will ‘eventually’ love this game. The translation from real-life to a game is incredibly complex. At first glance Pride FC is pale. Graphics could be sharper, limited special moves, limited creativity. However, once you learn the right combination for the fighters you can kick serious … Takes about an hour to grasp the basics, a lil more to master it on easy level. Although it’s fun to have Igor lay the smackdown, replay value is limited. Even though I’m a fan, I wish I bought used. If you never heard of Pride, UFC or MMA just pass it by.

ok i just got this game yesterday, great speed in delivery and everything, kudos there. ok so ive been playing and i must say its actually a pretty fun game, it is very basic and im sure it doesn’t hold a candle next to the UFC Undisputed, but all in all ive been having fun with it. im a huge royce gracie fan and am glad he is on the game. the fighters all handle pretty much the same so its easy to catch on and hone your skills. Nogueira is the best on the game in my opinion. im happy with it and recommend it to anyone. my only gripe is that there isnt more of a story mode, but survival mode is fun either way

Pride FC for the PS2 is the most realistic mixed martial arts game ever made. What makes it stand out from the competition (UFC Tapout 2) is the numerous reversals and counters available to the fighters. The animation is life-like and fluid. Each fighter accurately represents their real-life counterparts, and their moves are truly unique from each other. Given, they all share the basic moves and controls for applying submissions or going for the takedowns. They also have custom combos that are simple enough to remember. But what makes Pride FC unique is that the animations of the techniques used by the fighters differ from each other. Igor Vovchanchyn’s left hook will not look like Guy Mezger’s. This is a highly strategic game that can be fun for both beginners, and extremely challenging for skilled players. This game will not work for button-mashers. Each fighter has different strengths and weaknesses, and it is up to you to exploit them. The create-a-fighter feature is also one of the best I’ve seen, and is certainly better than UFC Tapout 2’s. You can create custom combos, punch for punch, kick for kick, choke for choke. Also new to the game are two new fighting positions which include the standing clinch and the stand & down position in which one fighter scoots around on his behind on the ground as the other fighter stands over him, and both are able to deliver strikes/holds from either position. One of the coolest things that I appreciate is that if you.

I like this video game very much. It is a great game. This is the most realistic fighting videogame for the PS2. Fighters are accurately recreated in amazing detail with appearance, fighting style, movements and signature ring entrances. I have a copy in my store.

First off, I’ve had the game for a couple of days. This game rates 2 stars since the depth is low, the AI is sometimes ridiculously weak and other times super skilled, and the graphics are only OK. For low depth, you find yourself doing the same few moves again and again. If you were allowed to actually do whatever you wanted with the controller instead of 2 slots for punches, 2 slots for kicks, etc that would have helped a lot. The AI really is pretty bad. By bad I mean inconsistent. Often quite weak, yet sometimes you really get the feeling that no matter what, it wants to win. I would also say that whoever the programmers were, they sure love Silva. He is godlike sometimes. Finally, the graphics were no better than the Dreamcast UFC title. Mind you, the Dreamcast UFC came out years ago. It was great for its time but we should have moved past that by now. The sound is also only OK, at best. Someday a game better than the Dreamcast version of UFC will happen, but not with this title. If you love MMA fighting games this will interest you for a while. I’d suggest renting it.

This game was crazy when I first played it good graphics the fighters don’t get tired and it’s just full blast

Years later and this is still the best MMA game. Create your own combos, getting in-depth character creation, and all of that other awesomeness. If this game has one flaw, and it’s subjective, it would be the fact that you can win by button mashing moreso than games of today. Still, it’s very possible to become a player good enough to counter that. That game is intensely good, in-depth, and with a great roster. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

UFC Tapout was pretty good, but this game is superb. It lacks a career mode, which all of the game mags point out to ding it down to 8/10. A career mode would be nice but they obviously are saving that for the next Pride FC title.
