Story: This game actually has a story to it. A fighting game with a story, who knew. The story is: A meteor struck the Earth, and caused great chaos. Seven gods from ancient times awoke, and are now attempting to take control of the post-apocalyptic world. These seven gods are giant dinosaurs and apes which is pretty cool. Now, as one of these crazy blood thirsty monsters, you are set out to conquer the Earth. The story is pretty good in my opinion.Gameplay: This fighting game is unlike any other fighting game you’ll ever play. I say that because you get to fight as dinosaurs and giant apes, how cool is that ? In this game you play as one of seven dinossaurs/apes (five dinosaurs and 2 apes to be exact). You can either play as Diablo, a hellish looking T-rex, Blizzard, a cold blooded killer ape, Sauron, a crazy telepathic T-rex, Talon, a crazy fast and deadly raptor, Vertigo, the poisonous long necked dino, Chaos, a crazy King kong like ape, and Armadon, a vicious crazy triceratops. Well, just like any other fighting game you got your basic moves like you got your high and low attacks. But, instead of punching and kicking like humans do, in Primal Rage you get to tail whip, bite, slash with your claws, and kick slash with your claws too. Mixing some of those moves up add up to some deadly combos. If you do these fast enough you can make your enemy brain dead for a couple of seconds which means they can’t move and it’s your chance to get more attacks on your opponent which is v.
Ahh Primal RAGE. I’m only 23 and this oe takes me back. I still remember the arcade game. I’m not sure how big this game ever got but I ranks it in my top 5 genesis games. Right next t UMK3, and clayfighter. Whats better than an oldschool side scroll fighting game? One that allows you to be a dinosaur full of p*$$ and vinegar. Gamers, collectors this is a must have in the collection.

“Primal Rage” is a great old school fighting game.It was also very underrated.There were some really cool characters you could play as that were dinosuars and even a couple of huge apes too.I am talking about Blizzard and Chaos of course.They were kinda like the Sub-Zero and Scorpion of this game.Each character had some really cool special moves,along with some killer finishers as well.My favorite finishing move was always Chaos’ “golden shower”.It’s just so funny to watch.Especially if you’ve just performed it on a friend.There’s nothing better then taking a leak on your opponet after you just kicked their butt haha.Note that the Genesis version had that finishing move and the SNES version didin’t.The graphics are very good and so is the sound.This game may not be a huge hit with every gamer,but it does have a nice little cult following.Overall,if you love fighting games and you never played “Primal Rage” before,then I highly recommend buying it.It’s a must for your Sega Genesis collection.

I recently got my hands on an old Sega Genesis, just like the one I had when I was a kid. With that console in hand, there were a few games I knew I needed.Primal Rage was the absolute top of my list. I loved dinosaurs as a kid, and I ended up completely hooked on this game when I rented it from the local Blockbuster. Wanting to get a bit of the nostalgia back, I quickly added this to my collection.It’s just as difficult as I remembered, and still rather fun! Vertigo is a great character who I definitely remembered as my favorite from my childhood. If you played this when you were little, like myself, you should give it a shot once again. It’s not perfect, but it holds up pretty good to the test of time.

THIS GAME IS AWESOME it might not be a perfect arcade to console port but its a very good port the graphics arent all that bad for the time the controls are great and the moves are brutal and funny at the same time this game is very enjoyable and at the cost of of a few bucks its the greatest deal you will make in a long time dont pass up this genesis classic
