Amidst the scorched sands of ancient Persia, there is a legend spun in an ancient tongue. It speaks of a time borne by blood and ruled by deceit. It is within this war torn land that a young Prince discovers a magic dagger. Embark on a journey of scorched sands and ancient legends. Guide the Prince on his quest to reverse the curse by using the Sands of Time, a power which allows you to erase the past, see into the future and slow down the present. He must tread these dangers carefully, however. Because in this world, there is only one rule: master the Sands, or be buried.

The good:Realistic platform game with a brilliant time manipulation mechanic that is neither broken nor overpowered, is genuinely fun, and integrates well into the platforming. The game also boasts well-writen characters and a decent story, but neither of these gets in the way of the core platforming game-play. The graphics are good for an older game, and the artwork and scenery are well done. The bad:Combat is simple, a little repetitive, and it definitely gets old.The net result is an absolute bundle of fun. I haven’t enjoyed a platformer this much since Mario 64. The augmented platforming has a better concept than Mario Sunshine and is better executed. The combat issue is easy to forgive in light of everything else about the game, but it needs to be said in an accurate review.

Prince of Persia begins and plays out with the titular character recounting the tale of how he acquired the infamous Dagger of Time, and unwittingly condemned an entire kingdom. It all started as Sharaban, a Persian king and the hero’s father, invaded the land of a Maharajah. There was betrayal from within as the kingdom’s own vizier opened the gates to make way for the Persian invasion. In exchange, the vizier was promised his choice of the Maharajah’s treasures, among which were the “Hourglass of Time”, the “Dagger of Time”, and the “Pearl of Time”. During the invasion, the Prince aims to please his father by securing one of the legendary treasures himself from the treasure vault. Thus is the stage set for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Players must combine their own resourcefulness with the Prince’s athleticism and skill in combat to make their way through the Kingdom of Azad, and eventually confront the Vizier for his treachery. Along the way, the Prince meets up with Farah, the Maharajah’s daughter, and the two must work together to stave off the attacks of the sand creatures, and create their own path through the ruined palace. The journey will be laden with difficulty as the Prince must jump from one platform to another, scale ladders and pillars, swing from poles and ropes, dodge rotating blades and moving columns of spikes. At times he will even defy the laws of physics by literally running along walls, and repel from them to reach an opposing location.Once the play.

Prince of persia:sands of time is an amazing and innovative game. The presenation is good overall and the visuals and leveldesigns are awsome. The story is good as well although it cud have been more intersting so that u wud want to keep playing the game, but unfortunately it’s not too immersive but still interesting enough. The one area that the game is lacking in is the gameplay. It is innovative and fun but it can get repetitive. You will basically find urself getting into combat with enemies that can be defeated with few available moves. This makes the combat repetitive in the game as u keep on doing the same thing from level to level. The puzzles in the game are too easy and do not vary much, so like the fight scenes u will find the puzzles to be repititve. Inspite of the reptition Prince of persia:sands of time is still a worthy action/adventure game that shows quiet a lot of innovation and is fun to play even though it’s not that challebging and the gameplay is repetitive.

This has to be one of my favorite games of all time. Thats saying something seeing as how i own over a 100 different video games across about 5 systems. This game has everything in it. It has action, platform, and puzzle sections. The action gameplay was my personal favorite, although sometimes it was a little overwhelming. The enemies keep coming and they dont give you time to recover, but i still had the most fun with these segments of the game. The platform levels are fun. You have your basic set of platform moves, and the prince also has multiple wall running skills which i think would be impossible in real life. The thing about the platform levels that pissed me off was you had to have PERFECT timing. You dont know how many times i died because i jumped to early. The developers give an easy solution to this problem by alowing you to turn back time and correct your mistakes. Without this feature, the platform sections would have been extremely fustrating. The puzzle sections were challenging, yet not to hard. I got most of the puzzles quickly, without running around the same room for 50 minutes with nothing happening. I hate when that happens, yet that never seemed to happen with this one. This is almost the perfect game. The only problem is its length, i found it to short. I didnt want it to end. I got wrapped up in the story and just wanted it to continue. I’ll be waiting dilligently for Ubisoft to come out with the sequel to this amazing game.

Game is really cool and everything that they said should come in came in. Only thing was as soon as I opened the case it reeked of smoke. Not the most pleasant thing to smell when you’re opening up a video game…but I just sprayed it with cologne and left it out for 24 hours and that took care of it for the most part. Only reason I gave 4 stars is cause of the smoke smell.

I just ordered this game, played it all weekend and have to say, wow! The art that has been brought to bear in this title is amazing. Flowing water, bending trees, lighting, it’s all there. Not only have the developers created a gorgeous world for you to play in, they give you amazing effects, and fantastic controls. The combat system that many have complained about is easy to use, and a blast to see. Slash one bad guy leap over his back and collect his “sand”, then richochet off the wall to slash another followed by a block and a retatlitory strike on another attacker, awesome!! If you do not own this game you need to stop reading right now and get it. As a 32 year old long term gamer ( I conquered most Atari, Colecovision, and Activision games back in the day ) who has seen the long road of game development through some bleak times, I can assure you this game is worth your time. GET IT!

When I saw this game on T.V., I have to say, it wasn’t the coolest looking game. I never got around to buying it, but my neighbor did. Anyway, he said it was fun but hard. In fact, he had not even got past the 10% mark on the game and he had owned it for a long time. I told him I could beat it so he lent it to me and I was left in awe. The graphics are great and the gameplay is perfectly balanced. The game has a great action, puzzles, and an excellent storyline. It turns out that I beat the game in 11 hours and 30 some odd minutes. Not the hardest game in the world, but, I am considering buying it to play it over and over. If you are thinking about buying this, do it, it is worth it. Trust me!
