Amidst the scorched sands of ancient Persia, there is a legend spun in an ancient tongue. It speaks of a time borne by blood and ruled by deceit. It is within this war torn land that a young Prince discovers a magic dagger. Embark on a journey of scorched sands and ancient legends. Guide the Prince on his quest to reverse the curse by using the Sands of Time, a power which allows you to erase the past, see into the future and slow down the present. He must tread these dangers carefully, however. Because in this world, there is only one rule: master the Sands, or be buried.

    Great service and great product…

prince of persia has ad quite a history. It has graced at least one of all of the most up to date systems in its respective time. This game, how ever, falls short of the magic and mayhem that made the earlier titles such a blast to play for one reason. The conversion of 2D to 3D is never an easy one, it either makes or brakes games. for metroid, it was great, as well as GTA, but this is not one of those cases. That is not to say that this game is completely void of entertainment, nto at all. While playing there are those shining adrenaline surged super hero moments. In one such incident, i found my self flip over one soldier’s shoulder and slashing him with my dagger, only to do a back flip and stab my sword intot he gut of another foe, it was great. That is why i say this is so great for a rental. Pick it up at block buster, play your heart out for the weekend, and then be happy knowing you’ve done all there is to be done.

These days, finding the perfect balance of graphics, play control, and plot in a game is like finding a needle in a haystack. Often too much focus is put on one aspect of the game while everything else remains seriously lacking. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time manages to bring a fairly equal balance while adding in a little bit of nostalgia for those of us who remember the original. The story goes like this: there’s this giant hourglass that contains "the Sands of Time" (therein lies the title), the hourglass can only be unlocked using the Dagger of Time. Both are considered treasures, but few know the horrors that will be unleashed if the hourglass is ever opened. Enter the prince…of Persia (and the rest of the title becomes clear), who through the treachery of the Vizier, mistakenly opens the hourglass and releases the Sands of Time turning the entire kingdom into a wasteland filled with sand zombies. Now it’s up to the Prince and the Maharajah’s daughter, Farah, to stop the zombies and return the Sands of Time to the hourglass. The story seems a little simplistic, but it’s well told. The entire game plays through the Prince’s perspective as he narrates the story to someone. If you find yourself dead and needing to continue from a previous save, you’ll hear the Prince correct his narration flub by saying "no, no, that’s not how it happened", or "I didn’t fall there". The narration also helps move the story along while the dialogue b.

The first time I played a Prince of Persia game was probably sometime in the late 80’s or early 90’s on Windows 3.0 OS. Yeah, that was ancient! The graphics were horrible, the game play confusing and the action buttons not too efficient. Could barely get him to jump. A good 20 years later and we get “The Sands of Time.” I was never a big fan of action games, but I was pestered into playing this one by my little brother. At first, it took me a good 15-20 min or so to get accustomed to the controls but after a bit, it was second nature. The game play, although sometimes a little glitchy, was indeed fun. Dodging and blocking are essential to this game. The voice acting surprisingly good. I especially liked the voice cuts when you die. “No, no, no … that’s not what REALLY happened.” And you start over from the last check point. Dialogue was well-written and witty. Story was easy to follow and exciting. It was like participating in a movie. Although somewhat linear, it does allow you to do some exploring and secrets hunting. And yes, there were secret walls and secret items. Love those. This was time well-spent with the fun attained, especially for an RPG gamer as myself. Although the sequels to this was a bit disappointing, this game definitely has replay value. I haven’t played the new sequel “The Forgotten Sands,” but I hope they went back to the game play of SOT as this is officially my favorite POP game of all time.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a pretty darn good game, but one thing that can’t be denied is that sometimes the game can be very challenging. You may think that the ability to rewind time makes things easy, but although it is very useful, it still doesn’t come in as much as you’d like it too. And plus, the battle system is very lackluster. You’ll sometimes fell like you are litterally fighting unbeleivable hordes of enemies, and they never stop. With each enemy it’s the same ol’ hack and slash system, and you always have to stab the enemy afterwards or they come back to life. One nifty feature is the ability to run on or up walls, but still, the game is challenging. It is fun nonetheless, and if you have patience you will find yourself enjoying this title greatly!

Beautiful game. Playing previous games, I’m used to dying a lot due to faulty controls. I’m amazed how little I die in this game. And it’s still incredibly challenging. Some small camera problems but overall a great game.Graphics: 5.0Sound: 5.0Control: 5.0Fun Factor: 5.0

From the development team who created the gritty stealth-actionphenomenon Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time reflects on Ubi Soft Montreal Studios’ enormous talents on integrating fantastic visuals with amazing gameplay value. Prior to trying this game out, I had not-so-fond memories of sludging through the dull, boring dungeons of the vintage Prince of Persiatitles. Five minutes later into the game, however, I was completely hooked. The graphics in this game are nothing short of spectacular. From the illuminating beams of light splashing with glittering perfection on various surfaces to the ridiculously detailed environments, the visual quality truly shines in this title. But all of the aforementioned examples of the game’s aesthetics is just cake dressing for the most important ingredient: gameplay. The heroic prince boasts a massive array of stylish and extremely effective skills in his arsenal. Such abilities include running along walls, vaulting over enemies, rebounding off walls to launch a diving strike, and other equally impressive moves. These techniques truly supplement the innovative combat mechanism in Prince of Persia. Even minor scuffles with baddies transform into a beautiful display of choreography. The vast environments in the game are truly a testament to creative thinking and adept gameplay skills. Many locations may easily require hours to navigate through, forcing gamers to contemplate which move should they make next. The assortment of puzzles.

Nothing really new to add here, only that I play the original game for hours upon hours after finding a cracked copy (thanks Magilicutty) in the physics Bldg. of the University I was at. The first time through I didn’t think much of the game because I was trying to play it like Tekken4 or some other button mashing game. I’d forgotten the ‘dance’ that I’d enjoyed in the original game. This game has good replay value for those of us that like fight scenes to be more art than violence. With a little patience it isn’t hard to dance through most fight scenes w/o a scratch, and there’s always the ‘replay’ dagger of time in case you get beat down.I think the nostalgia value raises the replay value for me. If you’re doubtful then buy the game used somewhere you can return it. That’ll give you 7 days or so to check it out and see if you like the artful fighting and awesome stunts. The way the little dude throws himself out into the abyss from ledge to ledge is inspiring.

Persian Prince … Invading India and the Indian vizier (the prime minister) is helping him … why? Age old idea of becoming more powerful. He wants the sands of time (a dagger which is key to the huge sand hourglass). And these sands when unleashed accidentally (the evil vizier talks him in doing it) changes every living creature into some sort of sand zombie. The whole game is to reverse this mistake as prince has to fight and collect the sand back into the dagger. The end … I won’t tell you.Now the high points. Awesome graphics, Awesome movements, Awesome Environments (they become really great once you have completed about 50% of the game), and the prince – he is very acrobatic. The game is easy to learn. And the fights are very intelligently laid out in between puzzle solving. So you don’t get bored of fighting only. And in each fight there are a fixed number of sand creatures you have to defeat. It may be a bit difficult to fight in the beginning, but once you get used to it, it’s very simple. And you can learn some tricks like stunning these creatures and catch then of-guard and then strike a blow. And don’t let the reviews like difficult fights dampen your spirits. This is Prince of Persia and not Spongebob, so there should be some levels which have to have some level of difficulty involved. The story line is smooth and runs at a constant pace. And it includes the Prince of Persia 1 (which unlocks when you complete the game) and Prince of Persia 2 (which is unlocked f.

You know what makes it even more classic? It is totally underrated. This is another game that was near perfect. It captured the original Price of Persia essence in 3D without compromising tradition. You’re still dealing with spikes and gaps and high walls, but the Prince has all the tricks he needs to overcome these things…and…he can turn back time.Timeplay is fantastic in this game. It works extremely well and is very useful 99% of the time. It has been a very long time since I played this game, but I can tell you this: you won’t regret spending 10 hours on this game. It is totally worth it. The focus is as equally on combat as it is on puzzle solving and the combination is great. It’s just nice to encounter a game that is different. The graphics are stunning, especially for their time, and the game is slightly more cartoonish. But that just adds to its uniqueness.Take a look at the price. This is ideal. A good game for this cheep? What have you got to lose? You’ll enjoy this title.Happy gaming
