Amidst the scorched sands of ancient Persia, there is a legend spun in an ancient tongue. It speaks of a time borne by blood and ruled by deceit. It is within this war torn land that a young Prince discovers a magic dagger. Embark on a journey of scorched sands and ancient legends. Guide the Prince on his quest to reverse the curse by using the Sands of Time, a power which allows you to erase the past, see into the future and slow down the present. He must tread these dangers carefully, however. Because in this world, there is only one rule: master the Sands, or be buried.

Most video games these days seem all new-fangled and complicated to my 20-year-old self, but I’m into this. The puzzles are tricky without being frustrating, the graphics are rather gorgeous, and my friend Krista says the prince is hot. I think he’s a little polygonal-looking, but I guess men with jagged edges need love, too. There are enough elements preserved from the original game to keep the title from being pointless cash-in-ism, but this new game won’t have you mistaking your Playstation for an old-school Apple, either.I guess the only problem is the combat. You kill a zombie. Then another one. Then another one. It takes only a few seconds, but the process is repeated until you’re praying for sweet, sweet oblivion. The first few battles aren’t so bad, but each is more challenging than the last (and by "challenging," I mean "interminable").On top of that, you have to keep the zombies from braining your requisite sassy love interest, but I’m not really sure why, since her only function in the game seems to be to make Disney-style repartée and somtimes accidentally shoot you.I also have a slight problem with the hero. He is headstrong and disobedient, often turning around and performing elaborate lunges to target a zombie that, unlike the one right in front of him, poses no immediate threat. I suspect that he does this because he resents my position of control, so sometimes I put the controller down and let the zombies have their way with him. It’s ver.

Once you get into it, this game does a pretty good job of capturing the feel of the original while updating to the kind of 3D game play expected these days. It eases you into things slowly. A bit too slowly for my taste. My only real complaint is the way the camera likes to hide behind opaque objects in the middle of combat so you can’t see the prince. Thankfully, the combats are brief & easy so that you can get back to the kind of gameplay that the game is really all about.

The fact that you can wall-run is one of my favorite aspects of this game. And the ability to turn back time is great because if you make a mistake, you don’t have to go back to the beginning and start all over again; that is, if you have enough sand in your dagger. One downside to this game is the battles. You’re running around having a good time figuring out puzzles and leaping from wall to wall and then you get stuck fighting these what I call “sand zombies” and you think, “Oh great, not this again.” because it isn’t fun. It’s, for lack of better word, annoying when not only do you have to fight them until they’re on the ground, but you also have to drive your dagger into them to take their sand before they’re actually a finished enemy, and by the time you do that, the other sand zombies have surrounded you and are attacking you. You also don’t get to carry potions or first aid kits around like other games. This game, you must find a source of water to replenish your health. I also dislike that you have to find save points, I usually prefer the games that you can pause and save at any time and begin from that point next time you play. An amusing part of the game though is when the Prince talks to himself, mostly about that darn girl he’s stuck with.Overall, I think this is a great game and a good buy, I am very pleased with it, even with the downsides.

i played this on my pc when i was a little kid i didnt beat the game for years because the game gets EXTREMELY hard when you’re about 55% of the way done because the enemies get bigger and stronger so basically as you progress past the half way point the enemies you fight get a drastic increase in quality and quantity heed my warning IT IS A VERY TOUGH GAME AND CAN GET FRUSTRATING but because of how well the game was made it has great controls (although sometimes the game can be a little picky about your timing) great storyline (with how this story line ends you want to buy the sequel) the fighting system (you do have a little helper but as the game progresses she becomes useless) the second chances the game gives you (when you are about to die you can reverse time back to a few moments before you died, but this is only a limited number of times you can do this but as you beat an enemy you get one reset) other than the sudden and drastic change in difficulty thats the only thing wrong with the game

Before I bought this game I’d played it at a friends and was hooked from the start. This first installment of “Prince of Persia” heavily focuses on art and this is not limited to its graphics. The movements and combat maneuvers of the playable character, the prince, is comprised of gymnastics which, by design, pays homage to skaters, in my opinion. Beyond the aesthetic, this game follows an excellent story formatted with tasks of moderate to hard difficulty. Although certain spots can be hard to beat, the game provides plenty of ways for the player to hone his/her skills before approaching an area were there is conflict. What also makes the game great is its potential to be a brain-teaser with it’s unseen paths and towering rooms which lay in ruin on the surface yet intricately provide entrance to other parts to the in the palace.Loved it!

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was Ubisoft’s first effort in a new Prince of Persia trilogy, which ended with the latest installment called Two Thrones. In this game the Prince must set things right after unleashing the sands of time, and also thwart the plans of the evil Vizier.Similiar to what Nintendo did with Mario, Metroid and Zelda, Ubisoft’s revamp of the classic series takes the action-platformer genre in new directions. The Prince has complete freedom of movement that allows him to traverse huge environments gracefully with little effort. He can run on walls, crawl around ledges and corners, swing across multiple beams, and perform other physical feats with very simplistic controls. This is the first game I’ve played in a long while where platform-jumping and climbing has been truly fun. What’s more, one of the powers of the sands of time is to rewind time on the fly. If you make a mistake, rewind time and try again. It makes the experience a lot more forgiving and enjoyable. What’s also enjoyable is the atmosphere. Ubisoft picked a marvellous way to present the game, and some great voice-acting to pull it off. The whole game is the Prince narrating past events, so you often gets his thoughts and “Peter Parker” asides as you play. It’s clever and endearing. What Ubisoft dropped the ball on though was the combat. They came up with a combat system that works better than most games, but simply throw in too many enemies at a time. These guys respawn in endless waves, tele.

To be fair, this game is rather old now, but the in-game graphics are actually still pretty spot on, it’s a fun game to play, and was revolutionary for its time. This game inspired more thought towards the Assassins Creed games, and the producers of the game never thought it would be such a hit. However, after the game was played widely and recommended from people who played it to people who did not, they produced more of the Prince of Persia games. That being said, this is obviously the first of the series, but not the first Prince of Persia game. There were ones that predated it, but aren’t worth your spit so don’t bother. And they’re ancient. However, that is where the death machines come from as it seems highly unlikely that this castle had rotating buzz saws and spiked, spinning columns back in the days of Persian times. The characters are actually pretty enjoyable. The Prince is an arrogant snot-rag at first, but eventually his snooty, pretentious outlook turns to base sarcasm and then genuine appreciation for the world and people in it, so hey…redemption. His female counterpart-love interest, Farah, is also pretty genuine as she typically talks like an actual person and has a use other than being the "damsel in distress." Both play off of each other well, and once they team up, it’s fun to see her helping the Prince. The gameplay is forgiving, thankfully because of the ability to reverse time, so if the Prince falls an irrevocable death, you can always r.

I got this game on the 11th from Toys R Us. I have to say it is a very good looking game, graphically. The controls are very well done, but it takes a little getting used to, because it SEEMS that they aren’t immediately responsive, like they lag just a bit, but they’re really not. Once you get accustomed to this and run the character around a bit, jumping, scaling walls, and fighting, it becomes second nature and you get to the point you are more concentrating on the onscreen action than thinking about what buttons you will need to push. A couple of the shoulder buttons are used for camera panning, out to a landscape mode, first person mode, etc, and it feels kind of clumsy, and I kept accidentally hitting these amidst fighting sequences. I am sure later on in the game there may be a reason for these modes but I havent as yet reached a point where this is the case.(added 11-13 the landscape pan camera mode gives a far away better view of the surrounding landscape area, and I reached a point where I couldnt figure out where to go or what to do, when I hit this mode, it showed me the larger view of the area, and I saw where I was supposed to run along a wall, jump to another ledge on an opposite wall. I would not have been able to figure this out had this camera mode not been available to me. VERY COOL) Anyways, I am really enjoying this game. It has a pretty good story and as I’ve stated, the graphics are really well done. There are alot of things you can do with the characte.
