The Sony Playstation is one of the best consoles out there. It was very revolutionary for its time. And now to date its still a fun console to own. Some of those old games on it just blow some of the newer games right out of the water.

The PlayStation console, though old and nearly obsolete (with PS2s, PS3s, and the like), still packs a gaming punch. The Sony PlayStation 2 and the Sony PlayStation 3 do NOT have full compatibility with PlayStation games, therefore it’s best to play on the original console (plus you save wear and tear on your expensive consoles!).Pros:Extremely long list of titlesDiscs are cheaper to buy than cartridges (as compared to the N64)Games can hold a lot more memory, meaning more game time, more graphics, and more Full Motion Videos (as compared to the N64 cartridges)If not all of the game data can be fit on one disc, it is spanned on multiple discs, whereas the N64 did not do this due to the expensive cartridgesSome of the best games of all time were made for the PlayStation, while the N64 didn’t have so many (such titles as Final Fantasy VII – IX)The PlayStation controller was much less awkward (as compared to the N64)Cons:Discs take much longer to load than cartridges (as compared to N64)More moving parts means easier to break, such as the lid or the laserOptical discs are much easier to ruin than cartridges (as compared to N64)The PlayStation console can be bought used, for dirt cheap, and it has a great library of games. This is if you are on a budget, and can’t afford a PS2 or PS3 (the price for a new PS2 just went way up…), or if you are looking to save wear and tear on your PS2 or PS3.I’m not sure exactly which model this is, but it is one of the later model PlayStations.
