Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City delivers a true third person team based shooter experience set within the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe. Not only does this setting provide a rich backdrop to the action but it fosters a unique and thrilling triple-threat battle scenario for the game modes. Zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W’s) add to the mix as players compete against their team’s opposing squad but also tackle this third unpredictable element that could only exist in the twisted Resident Evil universe. The result is a brand new style of gameplay that breaks the conventions of traditional third person shooters. It is September 1998 and the action focuses on the ill-fated Raccoon City and the horrific consequences of the deadly T-virus outbreak. With a cover up required, Umbrella orders an elite team into Raccoon City to destroy all evidence of its involvement. Meanwhile the US Government has quarantined the city and dispatched its own team of elite soldiers to determine the source of the mysterious outbreak. Caught up in the action are rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Players take on the role of an Umbrella Security Service (U.S.S) Soldier and battle against all the competing forces at play in Raccoon City. Choose from six characters, each one equipped with a unique skill set, including the female field scientist Four-Eyes who can manipulate the T-virus and take control of the B.O.W’s raiding the streets of Raccoon City or the weapons expert and U.S.S team captain Lupo.

Honestly, I have never written a review for anything, but after thinking about it and reading some other really bad reviews on this game, I figured I’d put my two cents in.Where to begin? I was super excited about another RE game, especially one taking place in raccoon city, my old stomping grounds from when I played and replayed RE2 and RE3 for hours on end. And the concept of a non-canon/alternative reality seemed pretty intriguing, So I figured, why not? I didn’t care for RE4 or RE5. I lost interest after the T-virus was no longer a threat, and Jill dyed her hair blonde. I know, kinda dumb, but hey, to each his own.Let me also say this to preface, because i’ve heard it mentioned in other reviews; This is not Gears of War. This is not Call Of Duty. I don’t know where anyone even gets the idea that this is Call of Duty. It shares nothing with that game besides shooting stuff. That’s like getting irritated because your kia is copying a Bugatti Veyron. They both have four wheels, does that mean they are the same?Anyways, my favorite part of this game is how nostalgic it is to be back in Raccoon city again. It was awesome to see those familiar places from a different perspective, and to be able to explore more, and be a lot better armed this time. I would have loved to have some frag grenades on hand, or a decent assault rifle, when I walked past that window in the police station and saw that first licker go crawling up it. (I won’t lie, i first played RE2 at 2:00 A.

I don’t understand all the hate this game got the single player was very fun and kept me hooked from start to finish and the multiplayer is just as fun with all the players and zombies and BOW’s it keeps the action intense. The DLC was cool i just wish it was all free

yes well due to SO MANY complaints just due to campaign and some on controls the thing is i have played this game and i enjoy it it is challenging and it makes you think sometimes however yes the campaign is short BUT they are SOON adding spec ops campaign where you play as leon and the others who are the S.T.A.R.Z members in the city fighting to survive and escape with the G-virus infected girl this game will be odd to those of you who have never played a 3rd person shooter however it is a good game and worth a try
