An absolute classic. Still play the hell out of it on my 360.

I was pretty excited to try this game out based on the synopsis and reviews. I’ll admit I’d had a couple beers when I tried it out for the first time but the motion is downright dizzying. My friend and I both agreed it was practically giving us bedspins! Also the controls are the opposite of Halo/Splinter Cell/Prince of Persia so I kept looking up when I meant to be moving forward etc. I’m not too deep into the game so I can’t speak to the depth, however, it didn’t grab my attention right out of the gates like the aforementioned games. Hopefully I’ll come back to it because it sounds like it picks up.

The very first FPS – the game that started it all and blew our minds at what a game could do – is now on the world’s most powerful gaming console! This is a just simply too solid of a game to pass up. The single-player mode is satisfying enough. But add the Xbox Live support, and you have a MUST-OWN game. Some of the Xbox additions to the game include split screen co-op mode, Dolby 5.1 surround sound, and additional weapons.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is easily one of the best games ever made. And Tides of War, the Xbox port, is the best version of the game. It features six or seven prologue missions that weren’t on the original PC release, includes a few new enemies, and has the full version of Wolfenstein 3D after completing the game (including the Nocturnal Missions)! Additionally, this game is compatible with the Xbox 360, as long as you have a Hard Disk Drive. To play RtCW and other Xbox originals, you must connect your console to the internet (via WiFi adapter or Ethernet cables), insert the disc into your console, and download the update when prompted. After the download, you do not need your console online in order to play. But just a fair warning: RtCW does have occasional lag when played on the Xbox 360. If you experience lag, simply pause the game for a few seconds then resume. This should slightly improve the performance. Now, for the review of the game:Return to Castle Wolfenstein takes place in World War II. You control B.J. Blazowicz, an American secret operative, and your objective is kill Nazis and figure out some of the experiments that are being preformed, then shut them down. Cutscenes are rather scarce, but they are brilliant and provide story, although the game could use a little bit more story. Blazowicz discovers that the Nazis control superior technologies, such as cyborg dogs, robots, and so on. In addition, Blazowicz discovers a huge arsenal of weaponry (including Luge.

This is one of the greatest first-person shooter games to come out since Halo.

…but a great sequel of the FPS! This game is a fresh rebirth of the computer classic Wolfenstein 3D. Purists may argue that that there shouldn’t have been any look up/down, but then again was that by design or limitation of not having any floor/ceiling in the original….we’ll give id the former. But let’s look at what this game is…fun! Storline wise it stays true, and blasting Hitler’s minions has never been so fun. The graphics are clean, yet XBox has done cleaner, especialy when things get frantic and full on the screen, the framerate suffers. On B.J.’s arsenal, he gets the usual run of World War II weapons, Thompson Sub-Machine Guns, Colt 1911 pistol, German MP-40’s, plus here’s where the rebirth really takes shape……sniper rifles! You get two, a Mauser with a sniper scope, and another M1S Snooper Night Scope enabled rifle. The FG42 German Paratrooper rifle has a great kick and sound, you’ll really enjoy that rifle especially the controller feedback. Plus the best machine gun of them all, the Venom, basically a mini-gun! There’s also a flamethrower, that at times seems cumbersome to use, and there’s a RPG that really packs a mean punch!!! The sound is fitting, orchestral type sound track throughout, a more industrial synth driven track would have been more suited. The Nazi’s don’t speak German,…but English….hmmm, captions would have been better here. Tons of levels, and a 3-D engine that fits great for online, and multiplayer, spells a great game!!.

From the time I first had a buddy show me Wolf-3D on his PC, I was hooked. FPS is most definitely the best gaming I know of. Where else can you take out your frustrations of everyday life by wholesale killing, all the time yelling, “take that (insert favorite obscenity here)!!!!”.The answer: Nowhere, unless you want to end up in prison for life doing “favors” for cigarettes, or in a mental institution, weaving baskets with your toes while wearing a straight jacket. So, do yourself a favor. Put down that assualt rile, save yourself a couple grand and go to you local electronics place, buy a game console and some FPS games. This one is a great one and I highly recommend it.Hey, it even has a “kick” button, so you get to break things, too. I mean, hell yeah! Killing AND breaking stuff?!?!? Does it get any better? I submit that it does NOT (sorry for stealing your joke, Brian Regan).”Why the review title?” you ask? Well, this game has so many different moves you can do that it literally uses every available item on the game controller and some even have more than one function if used with another. And believe me, at times, you can do some really cool things and used most of them at the same time….so, the fingers you were born with just aren’t enough. Darwin stated that all creatures have the potential for evolution to meet certain needs or changes? Well, liar liar, pants on fire! I have played this game for hours, willing with all my might for extra fingers to sprou.

Return to castle Wolfenstein (RTCW) first of all I’d like to begin by saing that I could be considered a Wolfenstein faithful as it and I go back to the days of Wolfenstein 3D which quite arguably started the 1st person shooter(and t). Of course since this review is of the Xbox version the obvious comparison to Halo will actully not appear (cus it annoys me), both single and co-op modes are excellent the one major fault I found with it is that co-op mode didnt have its own individual saves ie you had to complete the related level on single player for it to be available on co-op.
