Great game, hours and hours to playtime. Got it for under $20. I bought this game summer 2013 and if felt a touch dated but not by much. For the price the game was amazing.

I’m playing this almost a year after release, but I can’t believe I waited this long. The Saboteur is a wonderful game that takes place in WWII, but unlike most other games in that setting, this is NOT a first person shooter, and you do not play a soldier. Instead, you play as Irishman Sean in a Nazi-occupied Paris. The visual style of this game is spectacular. When you start the game, Paris is black and white, with the red colors of the Nazi flags and armbands and the yellow windows the only colors. Certain actions will “inspire” parts of Paris, and this will turn that area into a free, colorful area. Driving from one area to another either made me feel safe or uneasy, depending on what area I was entering. The stealth and and sneaking mechanic is another awesome addition. You can quietly kill a Nazi and put on his uniform. After doing that, you can walk around a Nazi base (but be sure not to get too close) and rig the whole thing for a massive explosion.Playing this game made me a little upset that we will not see another game from Pandemic. Hopefully their crew will take the ideas they represented in this game elsewhere and make another masterpiece.

This is such an enjoyable game and there’s just too many things to do and accomplish. I wish there’s a follow up to this..i would be first in line to buy it. Thanks to the developers for such a wonderful and entertaining game! Loved it!

Even with some noticeable game bugs (floating cars anyone?), It’s really hard not to like “The Saboteur”. This is probably the most fun I’ve had with a sand box game ever. There’s nothing quite as satisfying as spending a little time in Paris circa the 1940’s making life completely miserable for the Nazis. Even long after I had completed all of the main story missions and tackled the easier side missions-I still wanted to keep playing. This really is a darn fun game. Luckily, there are over 1000 “bonus” targets players can tackle during and after the main story, as well as “perks” you can work on as well. One of the few downsides to the game for me was the combat. I know it’s not wholly necessary to spend a lot of time on combat, but this is one element that could have and should have been implemented better. It’s clunky at best. Also, the ability to disguise yourself as a Nazi and sneak into Nazi strongholds is a good idea in theory, but about 90% of the time you get about three feet inside the perimeter, the jig is up for no apparent reason, the alarm is sounded and all bets are off. After a while when I finally discovered that being cautious just didn’t pay, I would just run like hell-popping Nazi’s off before they could kill me. The sloppier I played, the faster I seemed to advance. Go figure. I think however that one mission in particular REQUIRES the Nazi disguise-as I could not complete it any other way.Regardless of a few minor flaws, this game is not to b.

So much play value. Must love Nazi WW2 shooters.

This game is a single-player experience that includes great game play, is set in France during WWII, and includes superb voice acting. This beautiful open-world action game set in Nazi-occupied France. You must use a combination of single player stealth, third-person shooter and even a few racing missions against the Nazi regime. You have a large selection of weapons, including explosives to wage your one-man war on the occupiers of Paris. The “Will to Fight” system using color to graphically reflect the will of the occupied people, adding color to the scenes as they become less occupied and happier. The best part of this game is the freedom of the open world. You can travel almost anywhere you can find a way to get to, including rivers, rooftops, forests, vehicles, etc. You can even get to the top of the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame Cathedral. The game also includes an add-on code to unlock the more mature aspects of the Paris club scene. This includes some semi-nude dancers and racy side games that don’t effect the outcome of the overall game. This game is under-rated and never received the attention it deserved. This single-player game will entertain you for many hours. I played the Xbox 360 version and managed to unlock all the achievements.

The title says it all. This game blends the car-chases of GTA with the stealth & parkour of Assassin’s Creed perfectly. The black-an-white art-style is unique and lends a sort of period-appropriate tone to the game. I recommend the under appreciated gem to any fan of the two previously mentioned games!

  8. PolicyIsHonesty

I would highly recommend this game for fans of stealth, explosions and WWII-theme video games. The classic music may become a bit repetitive along with the tasks involved to change the cities from Nazi darkness to the Resistance light and colors, but I can firmly say that I enjoyed this adventure after never hearing any marketing or publicity when it hit the market.

Possibly one of the best games i have ever played without it being all over the tv or filled with advertisements. Words can’t even describe how good this game is, so why don’t you just go pick up a copy?

  10. SB

This game is an incredible amount of fun. It it as good as Assassin’s Creed II? Not really– that game boasted a superb fight system & fluid controls & character animations that made it a complete show stopper. However, one of the best things about Assassin’s Creed, namely, its incredible evocation of a specific time and place, with a vast, gorgeous game world to explore and enjoy, is also the best thing about Saboteur. The romance of WWII-era Paris, the characters that are right out of Casablanca, or an Indiana Jones movie, and the thrill of re-enacting the fabled Paris resistance, with it’s intellectuals and hand grenades, just cannot be beat! The game world is just as rich and detailed as Assassin’s Creed– the city map is fully realized and shockingly accurate. If you’ve been to Paris, playing this game is like a repeat visit, but with the added glamor and charm of the Occupation-era milleau.Personally, I prefer this setting and this group of characters to those found in the GTA games. Of course, this game is highly derivative of GTA games, but that being said, there’s something much more exciting and novel about this setting and theme than GTA. Instead of wearing Timbs and blue jeans and a ball cap, our characters are wearing classic fashions of ’40s Paris. Instead of driving today’s cars, they are zooming around in classic roadsters from the period. Instead of stripclubs and taxi cab agencies, we get swanky cabarets and romantic, candle-lit catacombs stocked wit.
