This is only the second “Ratchet and Clank” game that I have played, so I don’t know how it compares with others (besides “Size Matters) or how it fits into the entire series.This is sort of an action/adventure game, sort of a puzzle game. There are “Clank-only” missions that mostly involve stealth game play, some Ratchet missions that are challenges (survive so many waves of enemies) and some missions with the super-hero guy who I’m not familiar with. There is also some Patapon-style gameplay, where you have to press the buttons and match the beat.The stealth play is pretty good. However, once you are detected, you have to start the mission over (either from the beginning or from the last checkpoint). Most of the Clank missions are stealth missions, and you don’t have the option to “run and gun”.The weapons are very unique and kind of silly. Like many games, you start out with nothing and start acquiring weapons and skills. Like “Size matters”, you collect bolts and trade them for weapon upgrades and ammo.Overall, this is good game that is entertaining. I did find that the gameplay was pretty broken-up, however, which took some of the fun out of it. You go on a Clank mission, then a Ratchet challenge, then a bot mini-game, etc. I would have liked it more if it was a little more mission-to-mission type of gameplay, with the side missions and challenges spread out more.The good:- Funny story- Good graphics and sound- Lots of varied styles of game play.- Stealth gamepl.
My son (10 yrs old) absolutely had to have this game for Christmas. By Christmas evening he had it beat. While I love video games he really gets into, I think there’s something sad about a game he can complete in a day. At least I got it at a great price.
It’s a solid game with some decent humor tossed in, but it’s not without its problems. For one, I have no idea how the development process for this game went. It seems to literally be a mishmash of different games. It’s a staple for platformers to have varied types of gameplay, but this takes it way too far. I was often wondering when I would be able to get back to the main game. Sure, you can skip a lot of the extras, but they yield money or rewards, and as such are fairly essential to complete.The focus on stealth isn’t too bad, since in most cases it’s optional. It’s evident very early that unless it’s a mission where you automatically fail upon blowing your cover, you’ve got plenty of firepower to just blast away your enemies.It’s a pretty fun game, but the time you spend snowboarding, dancing, doing Ratchet arenas, doing Quark’s missions and gadgebot missions may very well exceed the time you spend in the actual game. And that to me is just silly.In the end, when I feel the need for some portable Ratchet & Clank fun, I still go with “Size Matters”. But this was a nice experiment, and I’m looking forward to knowing what High Impact Studios’ next project is. It also demonstrated that the interactions between the two main characters is a large part of what makes the franchise great. Broken up like this, it loses a lot of its appeal.
I played of Size Matters first then Secret Agent Clank. It’s a fun game. More of the basic Ratchet & Clank but with a James Bond twist. This is a good waste of time for someone age 9 to 40. You should really do something more productive with your life than play on a PSP. Really, just read a book, paint or draw, maybe even exercise…

This game lives up to the PS2 and PS3 games and fits right into the story line. It took about 5 minutes to get used to playing as Clank instead of Ratchet but then again there are parts where you get to play as Ratchet. This game has so many facets that it’s difficult to get bored. I am still playing my way through it and have found that the Guitar Hero type mini-games are the hardest for me. This is really fun though and I enjoy them. The only con is that the screen for PSP is small but other than that it doesn’t retract from the massive amounts of fun that the game offers.The best part of this game is the sneaking around aspect. As a secret agent this is important and there are lots of opportunities to pass missions without being spotted at all.Overall this game is 5/5 and I’d recommend it to long time fans as well as newcomers to the series.

As a fan of Ratchet and Clank series that has played the PSP and PS3 titles I found this title to be very enjoyable. The plot involves Ratchet being jailed in a theft and Clank’s mission to save him.Most of the game, as the title implies, is played as Clank. Along the way players get to play short side missions as Ratchet, Clank’s 3 Robotic helpers and Quark. The side missions are a lot of fun. This game brings back a lot of the favorite side missions from previous Ratchet and Clank games and still manages to keep it interesting.The game is a linear story but it does detour frequently for the mini-challenges.The game makes much use of quick-time button sequences. This is a feature in games where you have to quickly tap a series of buttons in order to pass a certain part. At times the quick button press is made to operate like Rockband or Guitar Hero, where you have to tap the buttons in order and on time using all action buttons and arrow buttons. I found it fun and there were multiple missions set up like this.If you are looking for a fun game, this is a great choice. There is racing, stealth, action and rhythm based missions. I highly recommend it.

Finally a game just for CLANK!Though I still love ratchet :).I am a big fan of the ratchet and clank series,though I can not pick a favorite I must say I like this one very much.I have played all of the R&C games except TOD.I plan on getting that sometime later on.
