Silent hill origins has graphics that surpass 2 and 3 and I love the weapons you find in the game. There’s everything from a crate or portable tv, to a screwdriver all the way up to a baton or katana or spear. Not to mention guns like the assault rifle and magnum. The otherworld in this one, mostly due to the music is haunting and I think the way you transfer to it by touching mirrors is great, knowing your about to enter it and having to click the mirror of your own free will adds a certian something, you’ll see when you play. The areas are awesome. There’s a hospital like the other silent hills but then there’s a mental hspital, a butcher shop which introduces a new boss (the butcher) who reminds me a lot of pyramid head in the role he plays in the game. There’s a theatre and motel and apartment complex. I could probably rant on about how great this game is forever. Right now you can get it new with super saver shipping, just add another game to get it up to 25$. This game gets my highest recomendation.

Here is my review of this game after playing it more time.I went from thinking this wasn’t that scary and sucks to thinking this game is awesome.First let me say that I used to think that the combat sucked in this game. But actually it is not bad. I actually read the instructions (for once) and figured out how it is SUPPOSED to be played. If you turn off your light and use the charge up on the melee weapons and throw them you can fight off monsters and kill them more effectively. ESPECIALLY if you turn off your light which adds to the fear because you are in the darkness but also the monsters can’t see you.The music on this game rocks. This is a good game I think some have been too hard on it. I’m having fun with it and love it just as much as all the other SH games I own (accept for Homecoming).Oh and yes I preordered Silent Hill: Shattered Memories! :D

The title explains it all. Silent Hill Origins is a prequel to Silent Hill 1 and 3. It explains a great deal of things that were left unanswered. For 30 dollars this is definitely a good thing to pick up, if you played the others. There are some cons, but the pros definitely outweigh them. The graphics overall are probably the biggest con. This is a PSP game that has been converted to the PS2. It definitely shows, the graphics are slightly worse than Silent Hill 2. I really did not mind it though. People who get caught up in shiny graphics, will be very disappointed. It is sad to see the progression of the games drop from 3 and 4 to this one. All that being said it does not take away from the game. The music, as always, is outstanding. It adds so much to the game. It will sometimes freak you out, without anything happening at all. Your imagination does all the work. The story is what shines through here. You have basically two stories being told throughout the game. Both of which are very good. Sadly even combined this game is VERY short. I beat it in just under six hours, my first time through. All subsequent times I played it took under four hours. There are 3 endings and accolades to unlock. It is worth the time to get the endings, two of them are very good. The accolades are fourteen achievements that you can try to get in later ventures. The gameplay is pretty good, but there is one annoying aspect. There are hundreds of melee weapons around the Silent Hill. They range from.

this game is great and is a terrific addition to the series. the whole concept of having an alternate mirror world is pretty awesome for the game and makes it more challenging (in the good way). i received the game on time through the mail and box and the disc were in almost mint condition. i was very impressed with this shop as well as the game itself is really really good. totally recommend it!!!

This was my first Silent Hill game and I am glad it was this one. I just played through Silent Hill 2 and can definitely say Origins was much more fun and exciting. The only negative opinions I have are there are not enough save points at crucial places and the load time when he goes through doors and the time it took to save were horrendous. My game had some bugs/glitches (especially a freeze-up at the very end-errrr!) so that may have been part of that, not sure! Also, I found the inventory very stiff and time consuming. I am a veteran Tomb Raider player and the set-up with inventories on those games are what I’m used to and they are very smooth. Last gripe – Straightjackets were an ongoing menace – there were too many of them and they did not add to the scariness of the game, they were very tiresome and annoying instead. I loved Travis’ fighting skills – found it great that you could just punch away if you didn’t feel like fooling around with an object or a gun. I would like to add that I am not a really big gamer so take my opinions for what they are worth! All in all, a fun but suspenseful game – worth buying, especially for the multiple endings.

Origin would be my first Silent Hill game that I’ve taken seriously. You play a character named Travis who comes into a small town, Silent Hill. Origin centers around on a macabre theme; at times the game is simply freaky, at other times the game is scary, and other times the game is just exciting. It’s such a nice break from the zombie themes of Resident Evil. Here’s a list of things I liked and didn’t liked:* Anything can be used as a weapon. You can pretty much go melee the entire game. From your fist to a sledgehammer to guns, pretty much anything can be used as a weapon. Melee weapons, such as a hammer, have limited lifespan; each time you attack an enemy, the weapon degrades until it can no long be used. It gets kind of ridiculous near the end when you are carrying nearly fifty different weapons. I think the game should have had a weight limit on how much you can carry at once.* Great music. I think the music really saves this game. I think the music made me sweat at one point in the game as I was walking in a dark hallway and I didn’t want to continue since I thought something would jump out at any second. Truly, the music in this game complements the game play perfectly.* Some minor bugs I noticed. I thought it was because I was playing on a ps3, but I’ve found that people playing on ps2 have the same issue. If you reload a gun in the inventory and you have more than one gun, you see duplicate images of the gun you reloaded. It doesn’t appear to corrupt your game in an.

In my opinion, the Silent Hill series began to fall with the third installment, but was completely annihilated with the fourth game – but in Origins…Silent Hill is resurrected from the dead and has this long dedicated fan salivating for more. This time you play the role of truck driver Travis, whose persona has a lot in common with the memorable James Sunderland from the second game, as deep supressed and unwanted memories are forced out the more the haunted town claws its way into his soul. While Travis goes into this world of self discovery, you the player uncover the Origins of Silent Hill and see firsthand the separation of Alessa and Cheryl, and the birth of all the madness. The exploratory element that the third game neglected to utilize is brought back in Silent Hill Origins. All the streets are there for you to explore. Other than the usual Twilight Zone scenery, its unfortunate, however, that there is not much to discover down the narrow alleys or at the end of each road like what we had with the second game (like a corpse clutching on to the page of his final journal entry, or another Bar Nelly’s with a blood stained map and strange writing on the wall talking about disappearing holes). That bar alone from Silent Hill 2 caused mile-long discussion forums all over the internet. Them were the days….But the streets are there to explore nonetheless, and to think that they were all absent in Silent Hill 4.One of the other small gripes that I had with this title is that.

Well-done, and well-fun. I was scared to the end. A very scary game. Nothing like it. I’ve not played the prequels, but very scary.

Amazing game! It felt like Team Silent worked on it. The shop also did a very good job and I got it one day after the minimal estimated delivery date. It had some scratches and skipped a little, but I cleaned it and it worked fine afterwards. I definitely recommend this game to any Silent Hill fan!
