Granted that this game is the prequel to the Silent Hill game series, it delivers an enjoyable time that is similar to all the Silent Hill games before it.Given the fact that you’ve played the other games, this game doesn’t really show much of what we’ve already seen in SH games. So in the category of innovative, this might not seem as extreme. But that doesn’t take away from it.We’re introduced to another male character, Travis, who like the rest of the protagonists of the series, has something dark hidden beneath his casual appearance. The game offers a cast of completely new monsters and some familiar old ones you battle against while trying to navigate through the town of Silent Hill. As well as Travis’ own unique monster that will leave you most intrigued. The game offers new interesting locations to explore in Silent Hill. The controls are easy to use and make for a smooth gameplay experience. Voice acting is no disappointment either in this game. For fans of Akira Yamaoke’s music, you may find yourselves a bit disappointed with this one. While the soundtrack does offer much to the game, it’s not what I’d call very spellbinding or impressive as some of his previous works. Mostly, it’s music similar to what I’ve already heard before in the big titled games. While I did have my doubts about this game and the main character, it surprised me as being actually enjoyable to play. Travis definitely stood out from the rest of the SH male protagonists as being his own character an.

a must have for fans of the silent hill series

Being a rabid Silent Hill fan, I was somewhat skeptical of Silent Hill Origins, since A) it wasn’t handled by Konami, B) it’s a PSP entry, and C) prequels are usually a very bad idea. However, once I actually started playing it, I was, if not amazed, then at least pleasantly surprised. I played the PS2 port, and despite some glitches, it worked fine. I can safely say that Origins is a decent addition to the SH series, and if it stays firmly on safe, familiar ground — well, you don’t always need to reinvent the wheel.I’ll discuss the plot first, since it’s possibly the weakest part of the game. Our hero is Travis Grady, a trucker with the usual tragic past, who saves a girl from a burning building one dark night on a lonely road. Of course, the girl is (not-really-spoiler alert) Alessa Gillespie, the creepy psychic waif whose botched religious sacrifice turned the town of Silent Hill into an empty, mist-shrouded nightmare realm crawling with twisted monsters and psychological subtexts. Travis finds himself in said nightmare realm, exploring locations both old and new, and interacting with younger versions of the characters from the very first game. Sadly, the plot marches along an episodic and very predictable path, and Travis is a rather lame hero who doesn’t talk much and gives no clue as to why he doesn’t just head for the hills. I mean, seriously. So, what about the gameplay? It’s good, mostly. Origins retains the freaky, muted atmosphere of the series, with desolate stree.

Ignore the negative reviews on this game. This game pushes the limits of the PS2 system. The visuals in this game are incredible, when comparing to SH1,SH2,SH3, and SH4. The amospheric detail is rich and the music is chilling at times as you progress through the game. I loved the ability to actually punch and throw items at your enemies. My only complaint is that you can’t look up or down, everything else in the game makes up for it. I was hoping for the game to go more into the depths of the story of Silent Hill, but this is still a worthy addition to a classic series!

I’m not going to harp or banter on anything anyone else has said. I really enjoyed Silent Hill Origins. Yeah, the camera was kid of annoying, but after about an hour of playing, I got used to it and never thought of it again. I found this game the most difficult because of the fact that most weapons can break, which makes it more challenging. Also, there are fewer health items than normal, and ammo is scarce as well.I thought the back story was great and helped answer questions many had after playing the original Silent Hill. The bosses were challenging, especially the last two major ones. Monsters are all over the place, with there being some of the biggest monsters to appear in Silent Hill games yet, some almost the width of a street! I’m glad they kept the traditional UFO ending there, as well as there being other endings, plus objectives one can clear in the game that were also in Silent Hill 3.The music was amazing. Akira Yamaoka’s music gets better and better as each game is released. The vocal tracks from Mary Elizabeth McGlynn were top-notch, some of the best vocal tracks yet from her.In summery, don’t take your impression of a game based solely on the negatives. Yeah, the game was short, taking me five hours the first time through, but the game came initially from a console system. Second, the camera is annoying at first, but you get used to it. Third, broken weapons, as well as the use of your fists, makes the game more difficult because you can’t rely on the same w.

This is where “Silent Hill” first began… In this game, you play as a lonely trucker named Travis Grady. After Travis saves a little girl from a burning house,he enters the town of Silent Hill. Here he must confront a whole bunch of horrific creatures,as well as his own personal demons from his troubled past. The gameplay is like your basic “Silent Hill” title. Although this game mostly consists of you using alot of melee attacks, such as relying on using your fists and items you find scattered around that can be used as weapons. I found the storyline to be very fascinating,as it kept me intrested as to what was going to happen next. The music is also very good and has a nice creepy touch to it. The puzzles in this game are some of the best puzzles out off all of the “Silent Hill” games,in my opinion. Overall,I think “Silent Hill” fans will appreciate “Origins”,so I recommend that you check it out.

This game terrifies me and when I hear the sound of the butcher’s great cleaver rubbing the floor I feel chills. You will just want to play it over and over again.

  8. Juan A. Vargas

I have collected all Silent Hill series, but this one is unique lot of puzzles that will keep your mind busy, I love the fact that you can fightpunching your enemies and use of different weapons, graphics are pretty decent, in overall I give the score of 4.

  9. Yuri Vostok

If you are a Silent Hill series fan, you shouldn’t miss this title. This is a great chance to play it if you don’t have the PSP version.

i love all silent hill saga to me is one of the most wonderful game creations of our time there has been changes along the way since the first game the developers need to evolve gameplay story line and other facts that not all fan are taking in a good sense but silent hill origins is a good back to basics with some new features but over all is my third favorite one on the series.
