Rachelle –
There are some things I liked about this game and some things I didn’t. One thing I didn’t like was Sims 2 added an aging feature, but you can get around this using the cheat ctrl+shift+c, which I don’t exactly think of as a cheat as in The Sims Deluxe Edition aging wasn’t included. Actually having aging in Sims 2 makes it more rushed & harder in my opinion. I just picked this game up a few days ago and I like it very much, but added fun comes when you start playing expansions, which I will cover later. One thing about Sims 2 was there is desires & fears and as you complete these desires you can get or lose points to get rewards. Another thing I didn’t like was the criminal factor. In Sims Deluxe Edition if you install an alarm in your home and a thief comes, the alarm goes off and the thief gets arrested. In Sims 2 a fight breaks out between the cop and the thief so the chances are 50/50 if the crook will actually be arrested. If not the sign pops up “next time thief”. Which if you have a lot of high end stuff in your home and a crook breaks in, unless you can replace what they steal beforehand it you’ll probably end up losing it. Sims do wake up faster so you can wake up and call the police even if you don’t have an alarm so that part is good. All in all it’s a great game. Recommended.

Downloaded and installed without a problem and the disks are virtually perfect.

Game showed up on time from Goodwill, was in perfect condition, and was inexpensive. Game had the original cases and product key.

It is good, not excellent.I never played this before, seems complicated.i guess I should take more time and read the directions more.

Four stars in its day. But the graphics of Sims 3 destroyed its viability utterly, mods & all. The slight tragedy is that it seemed that Sims 3 mods were never produced with the zeal & unchecked proliferation that Sims 2 mods saw, but the graphic quality was so much higher that this was a trivial issue. Anyway, Sims 2 was just dandy in its heyday, but it was no Sims 3.

Love it, Love it, Love it.

Everything worked perfectly. Fun to play every now and then.

I played the original Sims and was expecting more of the same. Boy was I wrong. The graphics have been completely overhauled and are a realy beauty to look at. You also have a bunch of furniture and items to pick from, skills to learn, jobs to work at, and building options. The building options alone are amazing. You can do almost anything you want with your house. The AI also acts in a realistic and satisfying way. If your Sim is a neat freak, they will mostly tend to the house themselves. If not, you should probably hire a maid. The ability to marry and have children also adds to the game. The one thing I didn’t like was the speed of the game. You’re expected to do a lot in a little bit of time. This reflects the speed at which you can make friends in the game and how fast it is to learn skills or gain promotions. The speed is there to encourage you to create a family line that goes down through the ages. Personally, I found it to be a little bit too fast. Luckily, there is a cheat that will freeze aging if that’s not your thing. If you don’t mind spending countless hours playing with virtual dolls, then you should pick this up!
