My daughter went from Sims 3 to Sims 4, then wanted Sims 2 for some reason. Apparently, she has really been enjoying it, so I can only give it a positive review. It was certainly priced right.

Before this product released to the market, I had owned The Sims with all its expansion packs, and I like it very much. The Sims 2 is a big improvement on its past version. In this game you can do some things that you can’t on The Sims 1. They are:- Zoom in and out in detail. Use your mouse-wheel to smoothly zoom in or out.- Rotate (left-right, up-down) your view-angle.- Place wall-mounted objects (window, paintings, doors, alarms, wall-lamps, etc) on diagonal walls.- See clearly what your character is doing behind a glass (door/window).- See detailed animations and sound effects on your characters and objects around you.- More complex and real-human-like relationships.- New interactions on objects such as telephone, computers, etc.- New job career and ability on your character. You can reward your character with sepecial items that can’t be bought on money.- Lots of new things to discover! It is common that good games with good-looking appearance requires good PCs. I installed The Sims 2 on my desktop PC with 512 RAM, 128MB Video Card, 3GHz Intel P4, and it is still laggy, especially when there are lots of things around my characters. If you like The Sims, have a high-end PCs, and still have at least 2GBs free on your HD, you will love this game.

I love the game oh so much. My only dislike is that you have to install four disk before you play the game.

This is definitely an upgrade from it’s predecessor, The Sims. From what we enjoyed in sims 1 is transferred into sims 2. It has made the sims franchise into a successful game. Unfortunately, this doesn’t transfer as successfully into sims 3. It lacks the depth and special features that we enjoyed in sims 1 & 2. Sims 3 is targeted for the 16-24 year olds with short attention spans. It’s a mini game. In sims 3, it feels like you are transported back into time playing sims 1, especially since the graphics of the sims look a bit flat and not so much 3D. What I love about sims 2 is that I now feel that my sims are more personal and realistic. What I hate about sims 3 is that it has many great ideas, but has also taken a lot of step backwards from what loyal fans loved about sims 1 & 2. EA wanted to draw in die-hard gamers who found the sims time consuming and tediously boring. Well, EA, good job with that cause you’re going to isolate the longtime simmers, who can see that sims 3 as a hollow game, with no depth. Sims 3 is a flashy game full of gimmicks that get tiring and boring. The only negative I can think about sims 2 is that it had no superstar features. My favorite thing in sims 1 was the superstar expansion. That’s my only gripe about sims 2. In sims 2, I can create more realistic looking sims using custom content that is available in the sims community for free. With sims 3, you’re forced with very limited custom content so if you want more CC, EA wants you to buy from t.

I was really surprised to find that people are still charging so much for all the Sims 2 expansion packs, so here’s a tip: in 2015 EA was giving out digital copies of all the Sims 2 games, so buy just this base game, create and Origin account, chat with customer service and ask if it’s possible for them to give you the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. Worked for me a month ago.

I bought the Sims 2 Deluxe version in July and after almost three months of consistent gameplay, I’m ready to review.I had the original Sims and it was a blast. I loved being able to control what my little people did, how they interacted with each other and little things like whether or not they went to work that day or when they went to the bathroom. The Sims 2 gives you all of that plus more – now not only can you control your little Sims, you can marry them off to Townies or NPCS, move them in and play them as well. Your Sims are much more lifelike than before – little details like they now have five seperate fingers and if they get engaged they will wear a diamond engagement ring. When they marry, it turns into a gold wedding band. If a spouse dies, the living Sim still wears his/her wedding band as an actual widow would. Sims can now get pregnant and have babies, which is a wonderful, fun addition to the game. The babies grow up very quickly – they are newborns for a couple of Sim days, then toddlers for three Sim days, then they become children. Toddlers are a bit of work if you enjoy playing large families – unlike newborns, which can lay in their crib for hours on end, toddlers have to be potty trained, taught to walk and talk, played with, cuddled, fed, bathed and put to bed. They also have aspirations that you will have to fulfill if you want your toddler to grow up well into a happy child (more on aspirations later in the review). Not a problem if you have a small.
