Beautiful graphics and good solo or co-op game play for kids. I play with my kids when they get stuck and it doesn’t annoy me. Solid problem solving incorporated in the game. It was a good purchase for my six year olds.

My 7 year old loves this and his 1 year old sister loves helping him "swap" his characters. For Christmas, we got him this and had friends/family who asked to get him more of the characters, so he has a nice collection.It works with the Spyro series well – he likes some of the non-SWAP Force characters. We haven’t tried giants yet, but I think they’ll work as well.It comes with 2 swappable characters and one non-swappable. And a poster that you can put stickers on to show which characters you already have and which ones you can ask Santa for next year. :)The portal glows which makes it a magnet for his sister, so we have to keep it out of her reach to keep from pausing his game when she puts too many characters on or steals the one he has playing.The graphics are nice – it reminds me of Sonic, but a bit more exciting. The main characters voice is Puddy from Seinfeld, so that’s entertaining. I do get tired of hearing the characters shout out their catch phrases, but that happens with all video games and moms I think.When it’s no video game time, they play with the characters together as well, so it’s a nice pause from "electronics" and still feel like they’re playing the game.The best part, he forgets about begging to play Minecraft and since Skylanders has stopping points, it’s easier to get him to stop when time’s up without a big fight.

They are fine I just didn’t realize they are the old ones and that new ones had come out. Was kind of bummed since you can’t find the characters in stores anymore

Purchased this game pack for my sons 5th birthday on the Xbox one. Graphics are great. Story line is cute and playable for children (and I like to play too!) with ranging difficulty levels as they get the hang of the game/use of controller. I like that there is a story mode and battle mode to give different "layers" to the game experience. retrolio had a great deal for this starter pack at 50% off since a new version of the game is releasing this fall 2014. We felt this was a good starting point for our son who is just getting into console video games. The vendor sent the game timely, within the 2 day Prime shipping window, and in excellent condition-packaging.

It is definitely geared toward a younger crowd, but we have had a ton of fun playing it, and we just started our second time around. It’s fun to play all the different characters and learn their unique moves.
