Dang I don’t know where to start. This game is such a nice.. breathe of fresh air kind of. Simply put, these days it’s all about sequels and games that are pretty similar to each other. It’s nice playing a game that’s set in a different area, Hong Kong. I really enjoyed this game and couldn’t put it down as soon as I got it. There’s nothing wrong with the engrish that’s spoken, it’s not racist because that’s exactly how it sounds(I’m chinese btw). People will FLARE and complain at anything these days. Alright, alright heres a pros/cons list.PROS:-Hong Kong location.-The combat. I know the whole combat system is like the Batman Arkham series, mainly like Arkham Asylum because you can’t do double or triple counters like in Arkham City but it stands it’s ground because you can level up and learn new moves and such. Also this game isn’t really about countering all the time like in Batman, it’s about the combos and moves you can do. Plus dragging enemies into various environmental hazards to do some serious harm.-DRIVING. Damn the driving in this game is freaking well done. I’ve played a lot of driving games, I love playing driving games, most of the time sandbox games have pretty mediocre driving mechanics. This game does it GOOD. It really feels like a good NFS game. The only thing about it that might bother some is that when you reach top speeds, the car is a bit more difficult to handle.-Shooting. Man at first I didn’t think the shooting looked good from the trailers and I bel.

This game is a great open world playground. There are lots of tasks to keep you busy for some time. I am not a fan of open world games anymore. I typically get bored with them, but this game brought something fresh to the table. Chasing people through the streets is fun, the driving is arcade like but also fun, and the fighting is amazing! I compare the fighting mechanics to the Arkahm games…but better. The gun play is good but I would much rather go hand to hand. The story is good and I love the madarin but I do hate some of the english speaking parts. This game is like if Batman, Assassins, GTA, Stranglehold, and Midnight Club had a baby.

Sleeping Dogs has an engrossing storyline, something I value in the games I play. Additionally, the controls are tight with one of the better hand to hand combat systems I’ve experienced. A definite must have.

This game is a must have for anyone who loves open world games. Think of it somewhere in between Saints Row and GTA. The game overall is more believable/realistic like GTA but has some crazy DLC to make it more like Saints Row. I beat the game on Xbox 360 and got all 1200 achievement points. Once I started I couldn’t stop. I highly recommend this game!

I thought this was the perfect mix between the story driven GTA IV world and the over the top antics of Saints Row: The Third. GTA IV was a very lifeless world with nothing to do most of the time except take really long drives across the whole city to get from mission to mission. The story was interesting and kept me playing but I was not going back after it was done. Saints Row: The Third is just out of control. The story is over the top and the action is intense. The world is full of things to do but it left me wanting some substance. When I got Sleeping Dogs I wasn’t sure what to expect but what I got was a great story and a world that was full of things to do. The fighting mechanic really cinched it for me. They took the Rocksteady approach to combat and really made a great game better. I use guns, sure, but who doesn’t want to get in there and use all of those cool fight mechanics and environmental items o take out the targets. I loved it! Just excellent sandbox gameplay with a perfect mix of story and action. I am actually going to buy this for the PC and play it again so that I can get the new DLC. I rarely play games twice and when a game leaves me wanting more I am surprised. I really didn’t want this game to end but I couldn’t quit playing it. I was an early buyer so it didn’t have any of the gameplay DLC yet, only the stuff that added outfits and cars, so now that it has more missions I’m back in.

Damn good game. Total sleeper of the year!I really enjoyed it, a great mix of several different games and gameplay. I don’t know if I was a fan of the driving as others have said, and the combat got sort of stale by the end of the game. I found myself rushing to finish it so I could play something else. Side missions were ok, and though have no desire to run through the game again after beating it, it was a memorable story, great gameplay, and I would recommend it for under $25 for sure..

good game its like a gta game but in hong kong good fighting play in it cars an shooting could use work but is a good game try it

  8. Ismael Rodriguez

The title says it all. Think GTA-style in a more realistic and brutal environment based in Hong Kong, China without the silly mocking of other media that the GTA series is known for. This is a solid game that doesn’t waste time telling jokes.

  9. Your King Mob

Born from a sullied and worthless lineage: the completely forgettable True Crime series, Sleeping dogs is yet another Sandbox GTA clone. But with clever writing, a memorable locale of Hong Kong, vibrant and terrifying characters and a soundtrack that may be the best in the GTA style games since the very first 3d GTA… Sleeping Dogs is greater than the sum of all it’s parts.Be wary of the DLC, but most of the mission packs are worth it, especially the brief but awesome ‘Zodiac Island’.While it is a little buggy, lacks the depth of some of the other sandbox games (when it’s over, it’s over), I still give it my Highest Possible Recommendation.

  10. John

This is an absolute no brainer, its not as deep as Grand Theft Auto but it feels more organized then GTA in the sense that your progress won’t continue unless you complete missions, unlike GTA where you can do whatever you want all the time, which is awesome. You can do that in Sleeping Dogs as well, but the game is more story driven and the action sequences are intense and very stylish, something lots of games try today and fail miserably. Sleeping Dogs does have its negatives: Freezing, Missions Lock Up, AI Issues, NO Online Multiplayer/Co-op. Still, its hands down the best game of 2012 thus far and certainly falls under the radar for many even though store shelves are blowing out of it. Get This Game!
