Enjoyed this book, all the characters are very likable… and real!
Lori B. Duff, author of "You Know I Love You Because You're Still Alive" –
“Carrie’s Quest,†by Pam Sievers is a romance novel, sure, but not your typical impossibly-beautiful-twenty-something-woman meets impossibly-handsome-twenty-something-man with both of them making bad decisions based on misunderstandings along the way romance. It doesn’t rely on heat or lust or sexual chemistry to get you through the day. It is a grown-up romance novel.Carrie is 38 years old, smart, and burdened by the words of her Aunt, who made it clear that a woman who wasn’t married by 40 will be a social pariah. Against her better judgment, she turns to on-line dating months in advance to help her find a date to her cousin’s wedding.I don’t want to give away too many spoilers, but this is more than just a man-meets-woman novel. Although the plot centers around Carrie’s love life, it is really more about looking beyond surfaces, second chances, and confronting demons. What makes Carrie good at her job might just be what undoes her – and why is she like that? Is she emulating an image or reality? How much can we control and plan for?

This book spoke to me in so many ways and was just delightful. And so apropos for today’s internet dating as we are looking for that perfect partner. I found Carrie’s mother to be coaching her in the importance of being perfect, often telling her to lighten up. Buy some coasters and learn to make meatloaf! Perfection is found to be so overrated in this book. The characters were brought to life on the pages, and I found myself being able to even picture what they looked like. There is a surprise ending, and I couldn’t put it down until I knew what it was. You don’t want to miss this book and the way Ms. Sievers tells a story!

Carrie’s Quest is like a hug from the heartland. At an age when it seems everyone she knows is married, Carrie is an accomplished professional woman who decides to give internet dating a shot. At first glance, somewhat “nerdy†Rob doesn’t feel like the perfect fit for particular Carrie, but being just a bit older and wiser, Carrie heeds her late mother’s advice to give Rob a chance. I liked that this story was not formulaic or given to excessive drama. The characters are nicely developed and their histories and personalities unfold naturally as their relationship blooms. I love a story that keeps me reading, wondering what will happen next. Carrie’s Quest doesn’t disappoint.

I loved reading this book as it is exceptionally written. I started reading and had to find time to get back to the book. I have completed the book and would love to read Pam’s next book…hoping it looks at the future of Carrie and Rob!Purchase the book…you will not be disappointed!

Carrie’s Quest, a delightful read, is fun and engaging. The plot moves quickly but the characters are well-developed. I loved the surprises along the way and the numerous situations that made me chuckle. Sievers makes the incidents within the story truly believable! I await her next novel.

Loved the book! The turns from humor to romance and back are wonderful. An inciteful novel that makes me think about my own mother’s advice (who I also miss.) The only problem with this book is that it ended, and now I have to wait till the author writes again to be delighted.Being from snowy Michigan, I enjoyed all the winter tales with family. Can’t give away the ending but I loved it.

Did you ever read one of those books where the characters transcended the page and felt as if they were friends? Carrie’s Quest characters did that for me. The protagonist, Carrie, is one such character. I admire her flaws and her growth. She is real. She has a strong work ethic, a desire to be reflective and self-aware, and she is respected even when she isn’t appreciated. Reading this novel was a breath of fresh air and provided a relaxing way to spend my days even when plotline tension occasionally presented itself. If I can find one fault, it is not the cause of the author, but rather my own quirks. When there is a section change, my reading eye needs more than an extra line to delineate the change. Other than that, I slipped easily into the book, the setting, the characters, and the plotline and enjoyed the journey.Pam Sievers has the ability to give characters distinct ‘tells’ that are so natural in real life. I am eager to see more books by her on this site and with great pleasure, I encourage someone looking for authenticity to grab this book and slide into Carrie’s life.
Carol Elizabeth Herr –
This book captivated me from the first page and I didn’t want it to end. I loved how the author wove little pearls of wisdom given to Carrie by her mother into the story. Carrie’s Quest is about her journey to find a husband but it is so much more with many dramatic and surprising twists. The author is an imaginative storyteller. I highly recommend this book.
Beverly P. Pryor –
I totally enjoyed this book filled with the perfect mix of humor, truth, romance, family drama, and motherly advice! Thank you, Pam Sievers for creating this fun read! I loved how the characters developed and the story unfolded for Carrie and Rob. The wit, humor, and motherly wisdom made me laugh to myself as I was able to remember hearing some of these sayings from people in my life. Hope Ms. Sievers has a follow up with more of Carrie & Rob!
