I’m old enough now that I don;t want to buy cheap, ugly looking things. I don’t want to compromise, and I like items that do what they say they do very well. That’s why I recommend the PSP. The graphics are smooth and beautiful, the screen is great. It connected instantly to my WIFI system and syncs with my mac using PSPWare so I can listen to podcasts and download iTunes albums with zero hassle. When I go visit my family or friends, I sync to iPhoto and download a few hundred photos. If I’m travellign by plane, I copy a DVD to the memory disk and avoid the awful experience of in-plane movies.Oh yeah, and my son and I play half a dozen games regularly. we don’t use any screen protection and I see zero scratches and have no hardware issues. So … what’s not to like?

This is an amazing peice of hardware. It is good at doing a lot of things, as has a lot of nice features. I’ll make a pros and cons list to make it easier, and then I’ll explain each one.PROS:-Screen – HUGE! Bright, vivid, sharp, but like everything, has an issue.-Graphics – This system is almost as powerful as a Playstation 2, and is portable.-Memory Stick Expansion – The PSP supports Memory Stick PRO Duo. What’s nice about this is they make up to a 2GB capacity sticks, so you can get close to 500 MP3s (plus saves) onto one card, or close to 3 Full Length DVD Rips. Also, some Digital Camera’s are compatible with PRO Duo, so you can take some snapshots, and then immediately view them on your PSP. Because the sound on the PSP is so great, it serves as an excellent media player.-UMD – Universal Media Disc is the propietary medium in which the PSP runs. They can fit 1.8GB of memory, and can rotate at a relatively fast speed. 1.8GB is a lot of game, so expect to see some good stuff later on.-Wi-Fi – That’s right, this has Wi-Fi. But not JUST Wi-Fi, it has wireless internet via access point. With the lastest updates you can even check your e-mail on your PSP. You can connect to people nationwide on a growing line up of online games, and play them head to head.-Accessories – THERE ARE TONS! Like the iPod, there are stero speakers; there are charge cases, extra batteries, designated headphones, screen covers, skins, etc. You won’t have any trouble finding ways to make yo.

PSP is actually a unique device that plays games, movies, music, and if you didnt know, Emulators. right now i think the other psp assessories are really uneven with prices and are too outrageous. 24.99 for napoleon dynamite on a UMD when i can get that on DVD for 14.99. and 24.99 for Will Smith’s Hitch when for the DVD it cost 15.99. thats overpricing and thats when PSPHacking comes in use. there are sites right now that show how to put videos on your psp and how to emulate other systems such as SNES, NES, Sega Genesis, and Game Gear. here one warning though, there has been a report that the emulators may ruin you system and screw it up. i suggest a warranty if you do. and another thing. if you really wanna play Emulators on your psp, DO NOT UPDATE YOUR SYSTEM! THE NEW UPDATES WILL LOCK YOUR PSP FROM PLAYING EMULATORS AND PLAYING HOMEBREWED GAMES. as far as i am concerned, there had been reports that Version 1.51 and 1.52 cannot play emulators. those are the latest versions right now, and if your psp is updated then, no emulator for your psp. so the games are a bit overpriced right now, 40 – 50 dollers, and the umd movies, forget about it, 19 – 24 dollers a piece when dvds are as low as 7 dollers a piece.

Well yes I am old and everyone says this is my mid life crisis buying PSP. Better than doing something I might regret!Anyway, the machine is awesome. I never imagined how good it feels holding it (The PSP guys!), the finish and the workmanship were way beyond my expectations. Yes it leaves a lot of fingerprints on it (My PSP is black) but if you get the protective screen shield that sticks to it then you are set for hundreds of nonstop hours of fun! I even got an “intec” leather pouch for it that works like magic and even better than the SONY pouch in the Value Pack! Even got a 2GB “sandisk” memory stick (They are getting cheaper -$-) since the 32MB in the pack is useless unless you are planning not to play MP3’s or Movies or…..I use it only for the Racing & Driving Games – and only have 2! Burnout Legends & NFS Carbon City; Burnout is THE game with the best details and greatest fun and the cars look great but (to me) the higher you get in it the more impossible to finish! NFS was a very SAD experience since I tried the PS2 version and was expecting the same but alas NO. The whole game is different and the cars are not that great, the control is lousy but it is a good fun!So be careful when buying the games; find out first how close they are to the PS2 (PSP has limited Graphic Power) – try it first then buy it or even read the reviews they REALLY help.I heard rumors that Sony will be making a new PSP therefore expect the PSP prices to go down but not to a great degree.

Many have tried, but no one has ever been able to go toe to toe with Nintendo when it came to handheld gaming. Nintendo’s GameBoy has been dominating the market for over a decade now. So in March 2005 Sony decided to try and take a slice of the handheld market with the PSP. After owning one for 7 months, here’s what I think of it.HARDWARE 4.5/5The system itself is a beautiful piece of hardware. The first time you watch a movie on it or play a game, you’ll have a hard time believing that it’s actually a handheld system. The system is laid out almost like a PS2 controller, however it lacks a right analog stick and the two rear shoulder buttons (L2/R2). Though the PSP doesn’t quite have the power that Sony made it out to be (saying it’s visuals would dwarf the PS2 itself), it looks as if it were a generation or two ahead of its rival the Nintendo DS.SOFTWARE 3/5This has been the main topic of discussion about the PSP since its release. The problem is that developers are making so many ports of PS2 games for the PSP rather than original titles. This isn’t completely bad but it makes many gamers think to themselves “Why buy a stripped down version of Socom when I can just play it on PS2?”. The first six months of the PSP’s lifespan saw very few notable titles outside of Lumines and Untold Legends. Recently things have started to pick up. X-Men Legends II, GTA: LCS, and Tales of Eternia (Import Only) have gotten me to play my PSP more often these days. GTA was the PSP’.

I am a video game fantic and own from NES to the PS2. And I also own a Nokia N-gage and a Nintendo DS plus a Sega Nomad if you remember that one. And A gameboy Advance SP. I will be getting more in the future. So this tell you that I just had to have one of those fanstic Sony PSPs and wow what a system. Like I said before I am a Nintendo DS owner and the Psp blows the Ds out of the water. I got the psp Bundle pack for 250 plus tax and Ridge Racer because I love the Ridge Racer series and own more games. Ridge racer looks extremely awsome. The graphics are amazing. The only 2 thngs I do not like is one. The battery dies to fast. In 2 days I am allready charging it. And two. Parton my Words. The case that sony gives you with the Psp sucks big time. I am going to get a traveling case thats better. Its so tight you can not even fit one game with the Psp. What a bunch of cheapos are Sony Computer Enterment of America. Man Give a better case. The Psp is very easy to use. Easy to turn on and easy to get into games. The Sony Psp not only plays games but plays movies as well. I got a Smaller version of Spider-man 2 with my system. So thats great. We are going to new York in May and I am taking my Psp with me. I can watch Spider-Man 2 again for the 3rd time but on my Psp. Psp is awosome and it did not cost me a thing because my britday is April 1st And My mom gave me a 100 dollars for my brithday and my brother gave me a 150 gift card for Circuit City. now was that nice. The system is.

The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) is simply the most amazing portable gaming system you can own these days. It is above and beyond anything Nintendo has come up with and quite frankly beats up the Nintendo DS by a milestone. With its beautiful plasma screen that by the way plays MOVIES, VIDEOS, MP3s and displays PHOTOGRAPHS, graphics engine, built in WI-Fi and simple synchronization with any computer — you just cant beat it.The games that have come out so far for it have been stunning in its capacity to truly show off the power of this portable wonder. Games like Twisted Metal: Head On, Wipeout Pure and Ridge Racers — prove that this system will be the NEW revolution in portable gaming. Try it on if you can. See your friends playing it. You just CAN’T put it down. Did I mention its sexy design? Wow, what eyecandy???? WINNER!!!!!!

The title says it all, PSP is one of the best game systems to come out, PSP graphics are better than a PS1 and the DS graphics barely match N64. (Yes, i have played DS so you can all shutup). Plus, the PSP games are so much better then DS. Like, would you rather play spider-man 2 for the DS (another 2D side-scroller with jacked up GBA graphics) or spider-man 2 for the PSP (3D game with graphics as good as PS2). personally, I’d choose PSP. The only thing good about the DS is the touch screen but if you put the two DS screens together, they still arents the size of the PSP screen. I get so annoyed when people say, “sony handhelds suck cause theyve never made a handheld before”. Well i’ve got news for you, sony has been making electronics before nintendo was born. But back to the PSP…. The graphics are (again) amazing. I’m always astounded every time i turn it on. The movies are better than most portable DVD players. i havent really checked out the music and photos yet but im sure they’re good too. I always play tony hawks underground 2 remix, just to let you know, it has all the levels of PS2 and more!! This is a dream come true for all gamers, every time i show it to someone its like they already know what to do. Jaw drops and says “wow thats awesome!!” So if you have a choice between DS and PSP, definetaly go with the PSP.
