This has a shorter storyline than others, but it’s worth it. There are many extra features, graphics are great, has a wide range of scares, and music and sound are good.

Sure, you may look crazy walking in circles around your room chasing spirits, but it’s fun. The use of the supplied AR book makes it even more interesting. I recommend this game to those of you who liked Fatal Frame.

This game isn’t bad for a Fatal Frame Spin off. The AR isn’t bad, it messes up from time to time but there are websites with the book for if you lose it or just have a dark room. (and its pretty cool having stuff come out of your monitor.) This game is also short but there is ALOT of things to unlock. I ended up unlocking Sae from Fatal Frame 2 in one of the mini games. (they rename multiple enemies and characters from Fatal Frame 1 to 4 including Fatal Frame 2 wii edition.) There is a lot of nice things to unlock and do. I say to get it and try it if you are on the fence about getting this game. Just remember its short and there is sometimes the ghost are corny. Other than that its a nice game to try and a way to support Project Zero.

Lets get this out in the open: Spirit Camera is a short game, there is no getting away from that fact. 5 hours tops. Now for the good: Impressive AR use, 3D done well on the system and some great mini-games. Fatal Frame series fans and those with a particular love for Japanese horror will be more forgiving with the lack of content. I myself bought the game because of it’s superb use of Augmented Reality.This game is a spin-off from the Fatal Frame series where you defeat enemy ghosts using a camera. On 3DS the system’s Augmented Reality capabilities make this much more fun than in the origonal series. The Story Mode is where most of the content can be found. This mode you scan an physical book included with the game to advance the story while you hunt ghosts using your 3DS as a ghost killing camera. The story mode now is sadly only 2-3 hours long. The mini-games flesh it out a little bit more – adding 1-2 hours of extra game play. Overall, the game is fun but short. You can play it additional times on a harder difficulty level – I did this and it did help flesh it out a bit.I knew going in that the game was very good and very different but short. If you are a Fatal Frame fan or horror fan I say pick it up – you’ll be glad you did.

This game really does a great job of showcasing the augmented reality capacity of the 3DS. The game itself needs a lot of space to be played as you will need to be moving the camera around. The booklet is also necessary for gameplay. You cannot play the game sitting down or without the booklet. There’s also not a lot of replay-value according to my husband. It’s great for the technical use of the AR but I wouldn’t spend a lot of money on it. If you buy used, MAKE SURE IT COMES WITH THE BOOK!
