This is a very fun game! My only complaint is that it’s too short.

I really enjoyed playing Star Fox 64 again. I’m a big fan of the original release and I liked being able to pick up and play again with updated graphics and in 3D. I also found the game lends itself pretty well to portability. Each level doesn’t take too long so you can take a break in between if necessary. I didn’t think the added features added too much, but nothing really needed to be added in the first place. Great game.

It’s fun to play

This was the game I was waiting for. One of the main reasons I bought my 3DS.The game overall is the same old game that I knew/know and love(d) on the N64. With improved graphics and control. The Level of difficulty is just how I remembered it as well except for the 3DS mode, which I opted out of playing. I tried it the first day but really didn’t understand why it was there. Also I feel that way with the Gyro Controls, there was no reason for them to be incorporated.Which that leads to my next thought. No Online play, this was a mistake. I would have taken Online play over Video Feed any day. The video feed is funny and fun but We can all see each others reaction while we are in the same room. While there were a handful of cons as stated, the game itself is still intact and as lovable as ever. As well as still pretty challenging. It’s a nice remake though :D

I am writing this from the perspective of someone who never played StarFox 64 back in the day (though I did enjoy the original on Super Nintendo). In fact, one reason why I wanted this game was because I’ve never played 64. So here’s the scoop:You play as Star Fox, with 3 other animal dudes on your team (a rabbit, a frog, and a falcon). Each mission is on a different planet, and tasks you with flying through, shooting enemies, and taking out bosses. There are actually two types of missions: one is a straightforward linear level with enemies and obstacles flying into your field of view. The other is a wide-open map that features full 3D movement and is closer to games like Ace Combat than StarFox.The controls are simple but good. You have a basic laser, as well as a limited number of bombs. You can brake or boost. The game is fast-paced and smooth (I am pretty sure it is 60fps), and the controls are responsive. There is optional gyro control, which works well, but I prefer the circle pad.Nintendo has upgraded the graphics nicely here. The textures are sharp and the effects are extremely good. Snow, water, and lava are all shaded and pop with color. There’s none of the dull N64 work you might be expecting. It’s a more substantial upgrade than Ocarina of Time. The 3D effects also look great. The core of the game is, then, a basic but well-executed arcade-style flying game game. It’s the sort of thing we used to get all the time, but rarely do nowadays. What is unique about this.

This game looks and plays great on the 3DS. Only downside is I thought that the game had online matches, but they are Download Play local matches only. Other than that, it is great.

Overall a great remake of a classic. The graphics look above average (though wish they were even better), the controls are super tight, and the sound is top notch. Couple points if the game itself is not long, if you’ve never played it before the longevity is in finding alternate worlds and pathways to the final boss fight. The gyroscopic controls are ok, but I prefer the stick controls. I found myself splitting 3d and 2d time, however the 3D effect is one of the best on the games so far for the 3DS.Overall a great remake, just yearning for some NEW content from Nintendo, which I’m sure many people are.

If you loved the original n64 version, then you can’t go wrong with this game, i just wish there would be a wi fi playing mode, as the story mode once you finish it, can get a little boring, all in all a great game, graphics are better than the original and the 3d is amazing.
