What can I honestly say about this game? Hmm…well for the lack of a better term it’s fantastic! (At least from my perspective)You see this is actually a very interesting game for the 2600. I believe that it is somewhat based on the old “Star Trek (Text Game)” from the early seventies. Where in you control a starship that must navigate to different quadrants to search out and destroy enemy ships. However, “Starmaster” is a simplified version of that game and it really is quite fun. Selecting between game modes will give you several different difficulty options:_______________# of Enemy Fighters______Meteor and Enemy SpeedE: Ensign—————9——————NormalL: Leader————–17——————1.5 X NormalW: Wing Commander—-23—————2.0 X NormalS: StarMaster———-31——————2.5 X NormalThen once you have chosen which difficulty option is the best for you, and then begin playing you need to bring up the “Galactic Chart Analysis” by using the TV Type switch. Your ship is represented as an plust , the dots are your enemies (usually in squadrons of three [: .] or two , and sometimes just the one ), then you have your Starbases which refuel and repair your ship [].Now your goal is to eliminate all enemies and save as many Starbases as you can, while avoiding enemy fire and asteroids. You constantly need to watch out for any status aliments that may befall your ship such as…L: Laser cannons destroyed, you cannot fire until i.
