My son, who is 12, has become a lover of all things old school and had previously purchased this game through JJGames. Unfortunately the game that was supposed to be in good condition didn’t even work. I found it here on retrolio for less money and it works perfectly. My son is thrilled with the game!

  2. Michael C. Kearns

One of the best beat em ups ever. played it for 4 days straight when i got it. good to know that these games have been in good condition and my genesis still works great.

an beat ’em up fans should have this game great music and game play. hard not to difficult but mean on first timers. as in many sega games grabbing people in 2 player can make this game IMPOSSIBLE best to play alone. if your a solo game or you have friends who can deal with the 3 feet away rule this a must play for sega owners

  4. AHiddenHomunculus

This is one of the best games available on the Genesis / Mega Drive console, bar none, with what’s most likely the best soundtrack for the system as well. The gameplay is deceptively complex once you decide to bump up the difficulty and the multiplayer co-op action is legendary. Streets of Rage 2 has more variety than its predecessor with more charm than its successor and is probably the best in the series. If you love your SEGA collection as much as I do, you owe it to yourself to grab a copy of this game.

All the recent game systems try so hard on the graphics that they forget to make it a good game. Streets of Rage 2 is the best video game ever made! It deserves more than five stars, but that is not possible. Out of all the games I have ever played, (A LOT!), this is without a doubt the best! It brings back Axel and Blaze for the fighters, but Adam has been captured by Mr. X and you must save him. It also brings in Max, an ex-wrestler, (VERY COOL!), and Skate, Adam’s younger brother. There are cool moves and special attacks! The best fighting out of every game. There are eight rounds and big bosses at the end of each, (At the eighth each big boss comes back and you must defeat Mr. X!) It is very exciting and if you have Sega Genisus, definatly worth buying for any amount! Any person who loves, or even hates, video games will absolutly love Streets of Rage 2! There will never be a game as good as this for as long as they are around! Streets of Rage 2 will always remain number 1!!!

    Good as ever

This is the reason I bought a Sega Genesis over a SNES. Blaze Fielding is hot in that little miniskirt! Yes, teenage boys are stupid.Really though, this is THE fighter for Genesis. The game has four different characters, Max the wrestler who is slow but very powerful, Skate the little kid who is fast, Adam ex-cop who is in the middle towards strength, and Blaze (the aforementioned hottie) ex-cop who is middle of the road leaning towards speed. I generally played as her because she was fast enough to avoid enemies while being stronger than Skate. The game has a fairly rational progression through the streets, on a ship, and eventually to the boss’ lair. If you turn up the difficulty this game can get VERY hard. I’ve had this game on GameGear as well and it’s much harder on that system, since once you start getting swept they can often keep it up for an entire life bar. The Genesis version doesn’t have that problem. You can use a variety of weapons from knives to swords and even grenades in your battles. You have super attacks, one directed which uses up your health no matter what and one that is indirect that only uses up health if you hit somebody. The 3rd game tweaks that to a probably more fair way of doing it, but I still like this one far and away better than either of the other two.If you like Double Dragon style games or any kind of brawler ones, you owe it to yourself to try Streets of Rage. If you can only choose one of them, then go for this one by all means..

Streets of Rage 2 is the best of the three in my opinon, and being that I’m a lover of fighting games this game is a good one to play for some simple straight to the point action. I’m not about to write a biography of this game but its easy enough to play with anyone who can comprehend a,b and c…if your a fan of beat em up games or just a retro gamer pick this up

  9. mathew

My works and has a story with video rental stickers on it making it more… Unique. Only issue I have is the cart has a small piece in side making tink tink noises and made me assume this game might crash or back fire, but it didn’t and works lovely end result for me is the game plays. Still upset with the moving piece in side it’s frustrating me.

  10. bigmanpac

best one in my opinion better than the 1st and 3rd one. inhanced graphics, easier enemies (no return of the 5th lvl bosses from the 1st one the two girls that were hard to hit but they return on the 3rd one. 3rd ones pretty hard too) great lvls, better character combos (and know have special moves) and great gameplay. Highly recommended for BEAT EM’ UP FANS.
