Product came exactly as specified. Cartridge works and the case and manuals are in great shape, extremely happy with my purchase.

During the “Golden Years” of arcade gaming (circa 1989-1998 or so), companies like Capcom, Konami, Data East, and Sega ruled the arcades with dozens of titles. Perhaps the most prolific genre of arcade games (before Street Fighter II) was the brawler. Begun with Renegade, refined by Double Dragon, and perfected by Final Fight, the classically termed “beat-em-up” style game rode high and mighty with success. And why wouldn’t it? The mere idea of controlling someone looking like they came from an ’80s action movie (and taking a friend along to boot) to whoop some scumbags on the mean, neon-lit streets of some major-yet-unnamed city oozed with brilliance. Having released the Sega Genesis just a few years prior, Sega had yet to truly define what multiplayer arcade action was like, outside of Golden Axe (which had stiff controls). Enter Streets of Rage…Obviously meant to compete with Capcom’s Final Fight, Streets of Rage tells the tale of three young ex-police officers who are trying to take down a powerful criminal organization manipulating the figureheads (and police force) of their beloved city. Entering the streets completely unarmed, these three warriors whoop ass across 8 unique stages before coming head-to-head with “The Syndicate’s” head boss- Mr. X. Looking back at this game, one can perhaps rip it apart (especially coming from a modern perspective). The graphics are grainy, the gameplay is limited and unrefined, and the three playable characters don’t really FEEL much.

I buy my carts for the experience of play, not for the outer condition. I also have opening tools, so if it is dirty I can go in, get the pcb, and clean the leads by pink eraser, assembling it back together. This classic has found a home among my collection and will be happy there for the many times I will pull it out to play it.Despite that, I took a look at the leads and they seem like they’re in playable condition, so no worries there. I am pleased with my purchase indeed.

    Great Game.

Nothing like reliving your childhood memories like breaking out the sega and playing all the old games you use to like this classic!

This is an arcade game for the megadrive which is on a cartridge which has six games to it, thus is one of them, I rememeber playing this with my brother ages ago I used to play as Adam and he was Axl or Blaze. There isn’t many moves except punch, kick, throw, german suplex and weapon strike with various weapons. It was better ten years ago though before PS2 and whatnot. The levels are generally easy except the 5th one which I think is pretty hard, also the last one is because you have you fight all the bosses and then the main boss. Like I said before this was good back in the dayz, but is good for a play every now and then.

    Awesome game. Works as expected

  8. novadragon101

This is one of my favorite side scrolling fighting games. This game was awesome the first time I played it. The game is a lot like Double Dragons. So if your a fan of the Double Dragon series you’ll love this game.

    Came early works great

  10. Frustrated gamer

This is an awesome game with more depth than final fight. The spries weren’t as screen filling as final fight but it still looked good and still does i my opinion. The scale of the characters and background make you feel like your fighting on the streets in the open and final fight although a great game I always felt like you fighting in a crowded hallway. SOR has awesome game play the game play here is the basis for SOR2&3 so I find it hard to believe anyone would have difficulty. You got punch, jump, jump kick, grab, throw, grab and attack, you can also reverse throws and flip over an enemy and slam them into the ground, and a special move which is a policeman with a rocket launcher that damages all enemies. The gameplay is simple yet slightly deep. It flows very well. It is reminiscent of double dragon with some final fight with a badass sound track that ruled the 16bit scene. Sure you may be spoiled by its sequels but there is something to be had here. I am a fan of 16bit brawlers and own all three games and I still find myself going back to this one. Do yourself a favor give it a try do not listen to the 1 star review obviously they did not give it enough time to see that there is a classic game there.
