Thisscanner is easy to use and works well with my desktop computer. Its compact design makes it easy to fit on my desk and doesn’t take up a lot of room. It scans about 30 pages at a time and adds the next stack to the same document set. My document sets are typically 100+ pages and they take no time to scan in to my computer. Jams are easy to fix with the one-button front panel opening. You can choose one-sided or 2-sided scans in one pass. Highly recommended.

I created 4 Job profiles in Document Capture Pro (simplex single and multi page plus duplex single 2pg plus duplex multi page and it works great. The profiles save to a designated folder (u can set diff profiles for diff clients if u like) and since I have a handful of clients this little machine is great for me.Great compact size, scans easily, folds closed nicely to keep dust out.Im used to using the infamous fuji scan snap that most everyone knows and loves tho I didn’t want to pay that much so, for me so far, this es-400 epson is proving to be great.I simply scan large batches of rcpts (I have the main button set to single multi since receipts are most common) then code them after (even when a prog pulls info like Neat rcpts etc I found I always had to correct things anyway) so I simply enter the info in the file name and its searchable just fine in windows. My format as follows in case it helps any of u:Bank Last4acct YRMODY Amt Store ExpTypecnb1234 200630 50.21 target fd persI have my own system been doing books for years.Awesome value for a great scanner.Epson for the win yet again!

Like the old DS-510 it replaced, this is a sweetheart scanner made by the best scanner manufacturer, EPSON. I loved the DS-510 Scanner the ES-400 replaced,as the DS-510’s paper driver gave up the ghost due to poor materials selection during manufacture. To add insult to injury, EPSON does not even offer repair parts and the local service center [EPSON] cannot repair it. So I purchased the ES-400. It is a sweetheart as I mentioned earlier. The software is simple and fast, it scans with either an economical resolution or fully refined for photos. It ties in very well with Adobe Acrobat, in short a truly great product. I highly recommend it to anyone with a limited budget as it outperforms scanners costing over 3 times as much and the software is the best of the entire lot. I hope this fine product lasts at least 10 or so years, it is hard to connect with EPSON for purchase.

I can’t figure out the poor reviews for this scanner. The software works fine. Perhaps the most important step in the software installation process is to have the scanner disconnected first, and then install the software and then reconnect it to the computer. Worked fine within minutes. My first day of ownership I scanned a couple thousand pages and it only took a few hours. The bottle neck being the time it took to load the feeder. I’d recommend and buy this scanner again in a heartbeat.

This is one the coolest scanners I’ve ever used. Easy to use, can can receipts, cards, and multiple pages at a time quick and efficient. A little pricey, but worth it.

I’ve owned this Epson Scanner now for 3 months and I love it.I previously owned a Fujitsu Scanner and purchased an Epson this time around because of the $100 price difference.I can’t speak to longevity. Some of the Epson reviews claim that the Epson doesn’t last as long as the Fujitsu. But in terms of ease of use and user interface, the Epson beats the Fujitsu hands down. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose the Epson Scanner any day.

Needed an inexpensive scanner that worked with both Mac and PC. Haven’t had it long yet, but setup was OK, and it scans to compact PDF files through a wireless home network. You can use it with multiple varying computers in the house, but NOT AT THE SAME TIME. If you connect to it with one computer; you have to disconnect before accessing from another different computer. But that’s OK for me. Should be interesting to see how it holds up over time. It’s all plastic with many unfolding parts. Doesn’t look like it would hold up to lots of abuse.

This is a great product. It’s super-fast and has already reduced the paper in my personal home office tremendously. It scans 2-sided just as quickly as 1-sided and you can tell it to rotate images in increments of 90 degrees. What I’m not crazy about – as another reviewer pointed out – the guides that hold the paper are "delicate." Sometimes I just center a narrow piece of paper in the middle and scan it without the guides. It has skew correction so as long as it goes in fairly straight, that’s not an issue. If you have a document that has some pages in portrait and some in landscape, you have to choose one or the other. It cannot rotate some pages in a document – it has to do them all. The other issue I have is that you have to put in one document at a time. At work, we have a Neat scanner which has a setting for "separate" or "combined." If you choose "separate" then you can put in a whole stack of single-page documents and it will scan them that way. With the Wpson, they would always be combined into one document.Overall, it’s a great scanner for the price and I haghly recommend it.

I scan everyday as I don’t want any paper. I am a therapist where I have an electronic health record. So scanning in any papers into my clients chart is easy along with scanning in documents and checks I have mobile depositors to be shared with my billing staff.

Love, Love, Loooooove this thing!! I have been wanting to get all my important documents digitized but the technology just wasn’t that great at the time and the price was a lot higher than I could justify. I finally felt the time had come and began to research the top 4 products within the price range I needed. The scan speed is definitely slower depending on the quality and options you select but it is still fast enough to get through large stacks of documents in a relatively short period of time. I am overjoyed that I can now save all my documents as searchable PDFs and quickly locate any and all files that contain a word or quantity that I am interested in, regardless of what drive on my computer I saved it!!!! The software suite also allows you to save the PDFs in a format better suited for archiving so there is less worry about being able to view files several years down the line. I have only briefly scratched the surface with this beast and look forward to all the use I will get out of it. One of my favorite retrolio purchases of all time!!!
