A good game! At risk of being burned at the stake by Melee fanatics, I would say this is my favorite installment of the series so far, in part BECAUSE it’s a little more difficult to get the hang of. If you’re a first-timer (with this game OR to the series), don’t expect to go into For Glory and roll everyone unless you’re exceptionally gifted with your hands (errr!). Once you have the dodge/shield/ledge mechanics down, it’s a lot of fun, win or lose.I give it four stars only because at times it seems like a mere stepping stone to the Wii U version; I feel they could have done just a little more with it. The lag is also at times hilariously terribad. I play frequently with a group of friends so I know what kind of routers / connections / internet we have and it still occasionally lags regardless of their quality. The long and short is I feel it’s worth the money for its entertainment value as long as you can laugh off the lag and you’re willing to learn on a new playing field.

One of the best fighting games to come out, and definitely the best fighting game to come out on the handheld. If you’ve ever played Smash before you know that it’s about a bunch of Nintendo characters beating each other up. The character roster for this game is the biggest it’s ever been, allowing you to enjoy learning and playing as many of Nintendo’s characters and allow you to settle the question of who would win in a fight. The characters move at 60FPS (Frames-Per-Second) which means you can see very fluid and vibrant movement from each of the characters as they fight. The environment and items move at 30FPS to help achieve this feat, so while the characters move great everything else may seem sluggish. While this may sound like a negative, it’s in fact a huge positive as most handheld games only run at 30FPS for everything normally. It’s constantly getting updates which help keep the game balanced properly over any found bugs that may ruin the gaming experience as well. The wireless play is possibly the best feature as you can play with friends locally or online and duke it out in various fighting modes. You can see some lag occur when playing either locally or via internet, but these are few in-between. If it’s ever frequent it’s due to you being too far from your friends while playing locally or your internet wireless connection may not be too great.Smash Run is the exclusive game mode for the handheld version of this game and it definitely serves as a great alternativ.

Smash for the 3DS delivers what the trailers and advertisements kept telling us for the past year; an honorable successor to the Smash Bros. successor that’s motherf**king portable. What more could you ask for? They give you a wide range of 48 characters (some act as clones, but still cool regardless). You’re not here to read about why I personally like the game though, you want to know what the downsides and flaws of the games are. And frankly, it lies within the online play. Online play is INCREDIBLY laggy and unplayable as it pairs you up with people all across the globe, and the 3DS doesn’t have the processing power or capabilities of having a solid online experience. The peer-to-peer local multiplayer is stunning and offers little-to-no lag on the other hand. This game is worth EVERY penny. Go out and give them your monies.

Having played all iterations of the Smash Bros. series, the new SSB for 3DS is a refreshing update to Brawl. Gameplay still is not as zippy as Melee, but vastly better than the lethargic Brawl (no more tripping!). The new game modes, twists to previous modes, and a fun endgame credits game are welcoming additions, although I sorely miss the old Target Test (this new one pays homage to Angry Birds). I won’t go into characters or stages, as opinionated as I may be, but the cast lineup is solid and the newcomers, diverse. As promised, the controls and framerate are both fluid but I can probably foresee RIP my circle pad.

Fist things first, I LOVE this game! It was brand new when it arrived, NO damage whatsoever, despite some people being scammed such as an empty box & wrong games. I was a tad worried that would happen to myself BUT, I’m so glad I was dead wrong. This game not only combines ALL your favorite Nintendo characters into one super fun & interactive game but, gives you a great learning platform for beginners or those who haven’t played in a while ( like myself ). I HIGHLY recommend this product to enjoy! Thank you 🥰

Everyone says this, but it’s much less awesome than the wii U version, and is a bit clunky to control with the 3ds controls. But it still has the core game intact, running full 3d at a smooth 60fps, and is still just as fun to play. The major selling point here for me is that I can have this awesome game wherever I go. On the bus, on my couch, anywhere. And that’s awesome! The game itself has gone through a massive overhaul and is pretty much fine tuned to perfection with every character. The controls are tight enough that when you mess up, it’s usually because you didn’t dodge at the right time, etc., which leaves it only up to you to get better at the game.

Over 50 characters. Its in a stable 60 fps Stereoscopic 3D on the old 3DS let alone the New 3DS. You can play as your Mii and customize your Mii. Amiibo support. A ton of great features and games and so on. Play locally & online. The best Stereoscopic 3D fighting game ever made.

I’ve been a fan of super smash bros since melee so I knew I had to get this and it did not disappoint. They still have many classic characters as well as a lot of new ones, my favorite being the animal crossing villager, and you start out with a lot of characters yet there are still more to unlock. The gameplay is pretty hard, definitely harder than brawl but I love a good challenge. And you can play with people across the world! If you are a super smash bros fan you will love this.

At long last, Nintendo fans have gotten the portable version of Super Smash Bros., and there is no better time. With a roster of over 36 characters and secret unlockable characters that can be unlocked afterwards, this game offers different characters and variety for any player whether casual or constant. The new additions such as Pac-Man, Little Mac, and Mega Man offer unique moves and taunts that reflect on that character’s game. For example, Pac-Man’s moves consist of him eating dots and using ghosts to attack, as well as throw fruits like those he would collect in his Pac-Man game. This game is great, but it’s only problem is online play. It’s very slow and the lag as frame rate DROP gets me killed so often, and for someone who want to play for glory (smash bros’ competitive play) these losses would go on record and it is really upsetting. If you own a 3ds/2ds, you don’t want to miss this.

Throughout its history, the smash franchise hasn’t brought a game to the handheld platform until now. For being the pioneer in doing this, I can gladly say that SSB3DS is a fantastic game. Controls are tight, online play is usually low lag and the game modes are fun and worthwhile.Smash run has had a lot of people on the fence about this game; however, one could look to the likes of a game such as Kirby Air ride and its city trial to reveal the true nature of such a game mode. Though it may seem like a 5 minute grind, it’s important to understand that it is by no means without strategy; it’s a high paced search that requires you to look frantically for treasure, enemies and gates to challenge areas in order to get powerups. After the 5 minute search, there’s a concluding 2 minute smash, race or some other form of battle to show your stuff. It’s influenced by the power ups collected, but the winner isn’t necessarily predetermined by powerups (as proof, I’ve defeated computers that had collected three times as many speed powerups as me in a race.) For that reason I find it to be an enjoyable game mode.Another complication with moving to the portable platform is the size of characters on the screen. Locating the characters isn’t difficult at all; in fact, I found it pretty easy to keep track of things even without character outlines on. Another factor is that character models have been significantly simplified in order to operate smoothly. It’s unnoticeable when in play, but at.
