I love the game, i just wish the dlcs weren’t so expensive. I payed more for all the dlcs than i did paying for the game. But, I mean playing the new smash bros on the go? Count me in! If the dlcs weren’t so much, i would give it 5 stars! But, i do use cloud, roy, and bayonetta a lot more than i use the regular characters (except link and toon link). But, i would still recommend buying the game! If you are thinking about getting the dlcs, get the game used so you save money on the dlcs.

Nintendo has not made a Smash bros. game since 2008, and it’s about time they made one. Well, they did. They made one, alright. Fighting characters from different video game franchises has gone to the next level. Now you can play in 3D! Honestly, the 3D effect gives me a headache but still, you can play in 3D! Alright, alright, you came for a review. So, that’s what I’ll give you. The game introduced some new characters to the series. And a few new stages. The combat moves are incredible to use when controlling the fighter. The controls are perfect. The game controls like Super Smash bros. Brawl on the Wii. This makes it easier and more fun to play. Now, you may have realized I only gave this game 4 stars. Yes, I hate to break it to you, but the game, unlike its controls, are not perfect. First off, Nintendo has removed the level editor, which means that you can’t play custom levels that you made with your fighter. While you can unlock levels ( up to a certain amount) You are forced to play normal levels. Another problem is that it’s very difficult to pick the CPU player you want to battle. A CPU character is a player that you can choose to fight against you. If you don’t pick a CPU player yourself, the game will for you. The final problem I had with the game is the programing. Now, I’m not saying that it has lots of bugs, I’m just saying that at times, it feels that Nintendo was a bit, well, lazy. I came across several annoying glitches in the game at random moments..

Game arrived exactly as described – the only indication of it’s previous "use" lay in the game’s records file.It was indicated that it was powered on exactly ONCE back in Sept 2015, and then turned off, presumably to test if it worked at all.For somebody who is anal about their records I guess this could come as a downside but honestly I appreciate that the shop tested their product before they tried to pawn it off – that’s dedication. Also, this game is perfectly great without any of the DLC or an Amiibo! That’s a great sign – if your base game absolutely NEEDS extra content to be good, then walk away.SSB 3DS is a grand title any kid would be excited to have.

My daughter loves Super Smash Bros, she loves Mario and when I saw this on retrolio I had to grab it. it’s a great game. super fun. has a lot of different things they can do in the one game. it’s totally amazing for ages I’m going to say 6 to 14 kids. They really do love this game. shoot I’m sorry I’m going to say any age can play, 6 to any, because even my adult relatives like this game.

Coming from a competitive player:The balance is amazing, the character design is improved and new characters’ playstyles are very unique and fulfill even more roles and character types. There’s also tons of waifus and lots of other based content to make Smash 3DS the best smash yet.Lots of advanced techniques for movement options rivaling Melee, while at the same time more universally available to the entire cast (rather than very pivotal for certain characters and then useless for others) and the inputs needed to perform them are much simpler and more intuitive. The animation and expressions of characters are impressive. Attack animations and smashes are the most intense looking yet! And very humorous and appealing and cute characters like DDD and Yoshi and Kirby!

I like this game better than the WiiU version. The graphics are fantastic. The gameplay is awesome and still has the classic smash bros vibe. The amiibo functionality is pretty cool and seemed like it would get old fast, but I was wrong. Great fun with an amiibo (you can play against them, team up with them, level them up, and they even earn you coins and items). If you have a new Nintendo 3DS with the added c-stick nub and additional triggers this is one game you must have next to Xenoblade.I do miss the old campaign style from the previous smash bros games. They replaced that with smash run which is great fun and perfect if you have five minutes to take a break when you’re not home.New updates to the software now allow you to purchase DLC characters, costumes, and more items. Love it.

A definite improvement over the massacre that was “Brawl” but still a way away from the expectations set by the original and Melee. There are many great “Pros” to this game but some are met with some blaring “Cons”Pros:Huge character list: more fighting styles to choose from for a greater diversification of play styles.Customizable characters: this allows you to make each character your own and to experiment with combinations.Smash run: the fact that the final challenge is randomized and the time limit creates that sense of urgency to beef up your character in all directions makes for an interesting effect. Even though a bit of skill is taken away and replaced with luck it is balanced by the huge satisfaction of when you grinded a bit too much on speed and you see “Race” pop up as the final. No tripping: speaks for itself.Mii Brawlers: you can get really creative with these little buggersCons:Clones: they are back and they are just as minorly different as they were before (I’m looking at you Marth-Roy, Marth-Lucina)Customizable Move-sets: You get a counter! You get a counter! Everybody gets a counter! The concept is great but the application was weak. Too many recycled moves actually served to create more similar movesets for characters. Whee! Now my non-clones can have clone moves of clones… No. If there isn’t enough room for a diverse custom move-set then either remove some characters to make more diverse abilities or keep the characters diverse and remove custom moves enti.

I love this game!I wasn’t one of the kids fortunate enough to grow up with a Nintendo 64 (my brother and I had the Sega Genesis, which was awesome in its own right), so the only times I ever got to play the original Super Smash Bros was at other people’s houses. But when we eventually got the GameCube for Christmas one year, You can bet we asked for Melee. We played the crap out of that game. It was ridiculous how much fun it was. And growing up with Gameboys (the original “brick”, Pocket, Color, never got an advance but did get an SP, and eventually a DS) neither my brother nor myself ever expected to be able to play a Smash Bros on a handheld one day.Brawl was even more fun, and though the newest console I’ve purchased is still 2006’s Nintendo Wii, I’ve yet to own that console’s Smash Bros installment…But Glory Hallelujah! When a friend of mine wanted to sell his 3DS (which I affectionately call the “Threeds”) I was quick to snatch it up!I remember sitting in another friend’s living room, begging his crappy internet to keep working, spending the entire day watching this year’s E3, and only the Nintendo showing. When the Super Smash Bros for the 3DS finally came out, (and of course I didn’t exactly have the date written on my calender, but I’m pretty sure some friends did) it’s not hard to guess what I did…I went on retrolio and bought it, because my friend who works at the nearby superstore said it was gone immediately. Now, enough of my life story. All this praise aside, ther.

I’ve always loved the Super Smash Bros series, and it even introduced me to plenty of series I never would have considered otherwise. This entry in the series combines everything I’ve ever loved about the previous entries, and adds even more! I’m excited to get the Wii U Smash Bros as well, but the Gamecube Controller Bundles are all sold out, so I guess I’ll have to wait. As for how it plays, I really feel good about the controls and stuff. There’s a lot it has to offer with game modes and stages, and the characters are all very satisfying to play as. I especially enjoyed customizing their moves, although it is a bit of a hassle to unlock all the customizable moves. As a result, I have WAY more hours logged on Smash Run than I do any of the other modes! I still liked it a lot, though.

The physical product itself came originally packaged and in perfect condition. Very pleasedThe game itself is a masterpiece. Interface, game-play, stage design, music and characters make for arguably the best fighting game out there.Cons: The few times that I played online was disappointing. Frame rate was extremely slow and made competition useless. Hoping that is a problem could be rectified. On a interesting note; I’ve noticed how invested I (early 30s) and even little kids can gravitate to different characters and feel like this game was made for us individually. very diverseI give this game a 9.8 out of 10
