This is the second best TMNT, that sad thing is that it was released late in the NES life cycle so not many people played it. I like it more than the TMNT arcade game.
Daniel G. –
Excellent game

It was 1989. Konami has released a highly popular arcade game called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which is based off of the also popular comic and television series of the same name. In the same year, Konami also made a TMNT game for the NES. It was rather a platformer instead of a port of the arcade game. A year later, the arcade game was ported to the NES as TMNT II: The Arcade Game. Now, here’s TMNT III, released in 1992. Is it as good as the arcade game?Yes, it is. The graphics are even better, the sounds are great, the music still rocks, and the gameplay is pure beat ’em up goodness. If you loved the arcade game, then you will totally enjoy smashing through ninjas in this game’s levels. In face, there are some cool new moves you can perform. You can also just flat-out pick up the enemy with your weapon and throw him behind you!The action is also tighter than in the arcade game. Unfortunately, the life bar isn’t as big as the previous game (NES version), but at least you can still plow through the enemies easily. I find myself using the pick-up-enemy-with-weapon move very often. It kills the enemy within 1 hit, while it takes 4 hits to kill with normal attacks.Overall, this is a very fun game. I recommend you to buy this, especially if you and your friend love the Ninja Turtles.

Ninja Turtles was going large and it was only a matter of time until Konami (Ultra Games did the first two before totally merging with Konami) released another entry in the phenomenon. The third game, "The Manhattan Project," boasted some better graphics and more enemies to bash. Let’s take a look:THE GOODUnlike the second game, each turtle had his different advantages and personal special attack: Leonardo spinned around while swinging his swords (flinging enemies away), Raphael headrammed his enemies across the screen, Mikey utilized a flying kick attack, and Donatello rolled into a bowling ball to knock his foe to the ground. You could also switch turtles once you lost a life, something the second game also didn’t have. The characters are also nicely animated as well and the music is probably the best in the series.THE BADBad? Bah. Can’t say anything bad about it!OVERALLA MUST-HAVE FOR THE NES COLLECTION. This is a superbly-made game and it’s even better with two players. The Ninja Turtles games have always been fun and this continues that tradition. I’d go so far as to say that this is the best in the series. So go grab some nunchukus and hunt this game down before it’s too late.
