This is no platformer. It does not have enough variety for that. Pretty much go from level to level killing the bad guys in a very pretty setting with different weapons with similar killing powers. It is not good enough to be a great hack-n-slash game like Lord of the rings. This is an average game that could have been great if some decent variety had been included. Bottom line: As it stands pick it up used if you have to have a slasher game. Otherwise wait for something better to come along.

Playing this game takes a person back to the old PS1 version. If you have played the PS1 version and loved it like I do, and are left wanting more, then here is your answer.(Medievil 2 doesn’t count, it sucked) This game covers the old with many new twists and turns. Some levels were deleted but other new ones were added. There is a new character or two, but sadly there are a few missing. If you hope to see the maze level you will be dissapointed, but you will see a carnival with many irritating and awesome mini games. Voice overs are changed, and the new gargoyles sound Ridiculous, but not bad enough to take a star away. All in all if you like Medievil for PS1 you are gonna like this one.

What a fantastic game, a blast from the past, for Baby Boomers!! (I can sense the under 30 set groaning & rolling their eyes). Many years ago, I bought this game, put it away, & forgot I had it. Recently, I was checking my game collection when I discovered it again. This MUST be one of the all-time unique games.Originally I bought this bc I loved Nightmare Before Christmas. The graphics are strikingly Tim Burton-esqe. One might feel as if you stepped right into that movie. And the humor is typically British – a nod to Monty Python, perhaps? The big surprise is that there are no sequels. When a game is done so well one would expect the developers would try to capitalize on their hard work & success. It isn’t as if there’s an overabundance of good PSP games!!! (Ahem, let’s not go there).Let me start with the negatives; IMHO, the list is very short. First, replay value is pretty minimal. Once you’ve completed the levels, there isn’t a lot of incentive to go back to do them again. But, then again, at my age and with my memory, I can put it away for 6 months, take it out to play and it’s as if I never played it before. :O (Well, that’s a bit of an overstatement; but you catch my drift). ;)The one negative is common to platforming genre generally: the camera can be downright wonky at times. It’s not nearly as bad as in some other games, though. As an aside, some food for thought: this game has walking dead, skeletons. disembodied body parts, etc, etc., BUT: there is NO GORE to spe.

Great game any fan of the PS1 version would love instantly!

This game has made me wonder if Tim Burton had in it, because the how the landscaping looks reminds me of Nightmare Before Christmas, I found this game addicting that I played it until 4 or 5 in the morning, it was not easy to get myself to stop playing it because I was having to much fun on it.

Video games are always a tough call if you’ve never rented or had a friend let you play theirs before buying. It can be very subjective and someone that gives it 5 stars may be a 2 star game to you. With Medievil I’ll list some good and bad and hopefully you will see something that will help you decide. The Good:The game is very witty. Many of the cut scenes and comments are laugh out loud funny. The story line is entertaining and gets you involved right from the start. The graphics are excellent. No choppy movements, and the action is smooth with no long load times. Rich colors, interesting scenery and it’s easy to get a handle on the controls. As for the sound effects, the voices are great, the music is well done and the battle effects are solid and not overdone. The not so good:Not much replay value. One you beat it, there is not much reason to go back in and do it again. The mini games are fun, and if you play it after you complete it, will most likely be those, not the main game. Sometimes the camera angles are akward, and you can’t control looking up/down and left/right like other games.Overall, I give 4 stars due to the games that are clearly a notch above, such as Siphon Filter and Grand Theft Auto Liberty City. I had a good time playing it, took my time and made it worthwhile.

Had this game for the very first PSP console. Loved it then, love it as a portable. Hilarious and irreverent. A solid, quality product that’s fun and sometimes reasonably priced.

I bought this game because I am a big fan of the original Medievil game for the Playstation. It was actually one of my first PSP games, and the first one I beat. I love this game. That’s all I can say. I wondered, at first, if it could even be compared to the original, but as I got used to it, I fell in love with the way the levels have been revamped, and the combat improved. The story is a little more straightforward, cutting a couple levels out (such as the Asylum grounds; kind of a disappointment to me as that was one of my favorite levels in the original) as well as adding a couple new ones. The effect is that the story flows more smoothly, adding a couple new ideas into the game that do not change the story too much. It’s like playing the old game but with better graphics. The music is incredible, and the color is amazing. Good ole Sir Daniel Fortesque has even been made much more “alive” with a broad range of facial expression, as well as body language. Adding to the fun is Tom Baker (the 4th Doctor in Doctor Who) as the narrator and the voice of Death.I laughed, I got angry, I kicked that ugly old Zarok’s…well, you know what. All in all, I recommend this game to anyone looking for a good game to kill some time and have great fun doing it.

I’ve played medievil on Playstation, But Medievil Resurrection is the perfect game for the psp, I do not remember any humor of medievil one, but in this medievil, The humor is off the scale! I love the genie in Dan’s head! They also changed the statue guys, in the first one, they were supposed to be scary…but in this one…It’s kinda cool looking and cute.Anyways, with the better graphics, cool puzzles, and ripping the sombies arms and legs off…This game is the most extreme!!
