Darkness, Quietness, and the Suffering: Combining these key elements make for a fun filled, scary as anything gaming experience. I played the demo a month ago and have been awaiting the release of this game with great anticipation. And it is finally here and I’m loving every scary minute of it.An extremely intense game, packed full of gore, harsh language, frightening images, and gruesome enemies. It is not for the timid; it is not for the weak. It can be played with either 1st person or 3rd person views, with the first person view putting the player right in the middle of the action. An overview of the story can be found in the product description, so I won’t waste your eyes on that. What I will advise you is that you play this game in the dark and quietness of your room in order to achieve the fullest extent of the scare factor. Also, there are multiple endings in this game depending on how you play it through, ie. killing every inmate and officer you come across might put your ending a bit diffrently then if you were to help those same people throughout gameplay. As you can see, the replay value of this game is relatively high. So, get into this game and "Make them suffer, before they do the same to you.."

For an old original xbox game u know the graphics are nothing to write home about, but its still fun to play and it can get really scary wen these mutated monsters jump out from every direction. When the main character gets overwhelmed he can go viral turning into a monster himself w extra powers and ultra mayhem, its fun, I think I paid less than 4 buks. I havnt played thru it yet but one of these rainy days I will.

Once I picked up this little ‘gem’, I couldn’t put it down, even though I was playing Riddick and KOTOR at the same time. I loved pretty much everything about this game. It was fun, well executed, with good level design, an interesting story and loads of fun. It even had some fun extras, like a documentary about ghostly prisons. It’s more than your average day FPS. I was able to play through the game in just a few days, but I spent quite a few hours on it daily. Yes, I have no life right now.The game has three endings depending on how well you ‘behave’ when you encounter other NPC’s. Help them, ignore them or kill them. The difficulty is adjustable and on normal, it was just a blast to play through. You have the usual array of weapons and once in a while you even get to use a mounted machine gun, which is quite useful in those areas, when the enemies just swarm at you for cannon fodder. The enemies/monsters are fun, based on the method of their execution. They could have been a bit more varied, but overall it doesn’t matter. In some areas they respawn, while in other you can just clean up and have some peace.I didn’t think it was overly gory, though there is a bit of red around and there is quite a bit of ‘adult’ language, if you want to call it that. The voice acting is ok, with only a couple of weirdos thrown in. (That green gas thing is a bit annoying and one of the initial prisoners is too, though luckily he doesn’t last very long). I wish the game would have been a bit lo.

"The Suffering" – Now here’s a game that came out last week (nearly under my radar) and I picked up on a whim the day after it was released. Very excited to play it after the helpful guy at the gamestop by my house filled my head with anticipation of the "creepiest" and/or "scariest" game I’ve ever played – and you know what, he might have been right.Looking a lot like the "Silent Hill" games (but better) and playing a lot like the "Max Payne" games, this game truly is the scariest I’ve ever played. The visuals are shocking and timed perfectly. The sound really adds to the ambiance of the game and the foul language and graphic violence only adds to the realism. The storyline is good too as it keeps you wondering if "Torque" (the character whom you play) is really guilty of his accused crimes. But is it fun?Damn straight it is. A lot of fun. The controls are pretty easy to pick up, the learning curve is maybe a half hour to get used to it, but vets of this type of game should have no problem at all. You never know when the next time is, the game will make you jump and what’s around the next corner. The game is very dark so it will be hard to see things most times. (And sometimes you might think you saw something, but did you?) And let me tell you, it’s a lot of fun to blast away at your enemies utilizing several common place weapons, such as: Tommy Gun, Twin Revolvers, Shotgun etc. Also, you have full use of grenades,.

Not many games can capture violent psychosis as vividly as this one.

This game is one of the best games to be released ever! You start off in the game when you are sent to prison for murdering you’re family. When you’re in prison all hell breakes loose. You see a shadow behind the inmate infront of you and not scared you watch him die. Then you start to play the game. Everyone’s dieng left and right infront of you. When you get to a cop who teams up with you go into the bathroom he was in and open the door. You’re insanity will turn up and you’re skin will slightly tear. Then kill the cop and you will see a bathtub with blood in it. after that go down stairs into the control room. Turn on the electricity and look in to the secerity camras. You will see someone behind you. Then kill one beast and you will tansform into a moster. It’s not just a cowincidence that you’re in prison there’s a reson you’re in there. The monsters will stop at nothing intill you turn into the monser PERMENITLY. This game is going to come out March 8.

So this game has been out for a long time now, but I figured if anyone still plays their old X-Box and is looking for a fun shooting game with a horror theme to it, this is your game. The premise is you play a newly arrived convict to the fictitious Abbott State Prison on the equally fictitious Carnate Island off the coast of Maryland and are placed on Death Row. Just as you get settled into your cell, a massive earthquake strikes the island. Horrible creatures begin stalking guards and prisoners alike and you must navigate your way out of the prison and off the island to safety. Along the way, you encounter others and based on your choices, the backstory of the character will be revealed as either evil, neutral, or good. You can also learn the history of the island and you will come to find that it is a place of concentrated evil. This game can be played either in 1st or 3rd person and is primarily a shooting game where you must fight your way through evil creatures that resemble various methods of death on the island (bladed spider-like creatures representing those killed by knives and shivs; firey specters representing girls burned at the stake in a 1600’s witch hunt, etc)More than just a shooter, this game has a fantastic spooky atmosphere. The crumbling prison, the woods, the abandoned Victorian mansion, caves, etc; the whole island is like a Halloween theme park. The music and ambient noises really add to the suspense of the game and you will find yourself jumping at.

    Great game came on time.

  10. G. Rhodes

Decent graphics, decent sound, decent game. Very twisted and much better than silent hill games. I would still wait for it to come down a little in price as it doesn’t have much replay value.
