TimeSplitters was a popular game when it came out. It took the normal shooter game and added in changes in environment – you moved through time to persue your enemies. TimeSplitters 2 expands this with better graphics, sound, and multiplay features. The plot isn’t much to get enthusiastic about. An evil enemy race is trying to wipe out humanity, and they have a time portal. They run back through time with crystals and you have to go back into each time period to track down the crystal and do other miscellaneous tasks while you’re there. The graphics are indeed nice, from flaming torches to dreary sewers and polished marble floors. But when you compare them to the likes of Halo or Kingdom Hearts, they’re a bit old looking. There aren’t shadows. The backgrounds aren’t very dynamic. You shoot walls and get tiny holes, unlike the deformable terrain of other current games. The textures seem flat and a bit repetitive. They did make an attempt to have the sounds match the eras, with lovely chanting during Notre Dame and twanging during the Western era. Even so, you don’t feel ‘immersed’ in the game. Characters don’t make noise when they walk. There isn’t really any ambient noise. The weapon choices are fun and time-appropriate. In Chicago of 1932, you’ve got Tommy Guns. In Notre Dame you’re playing with shotguns. So there’s always new variety as you go from level to level. The missions aren’t very challenging compared to other games that are out. They are extremely linear and there’s rar.

This game is totally everything i look for in a first-person-shooter.You can play Deathmath to monkeys assistant just for fun.The levels are great,The characters are really sweet(especially Monkey!).There are guns, mines, flamethrowers and fire extinguishers all sorts of combat weapons. This is a great all around game.If uyou find it under $30.00 you’re getting a heck of a deal.

This game is the game of all games. It is very detailed and the weapons and their effects are very "real" feeling. With the ability to play with up to four players if you have multi-tap this is the ultimate multiplayer game. The two-player co-op is cool and fun even to watch. On a scale of one to five I’d give it a 5.5!

First of all, I will say that what I’ve played of this game is excellent. Tight graphics. Fun theme. AWESOME multiplayer. I do have a warning though for those who avoid FPS’s due to motion sickness (yes, I am one of them). Single player Timesplitters 2 will get you. The movement is so fast and and you are constantly moving. After playing through the first level I had to turn in off and pop some pills (dramamine).I did not have any problems with the multiplayer though. The movement doesn’t seem quite as quick and it probably helps that the screen is split. If you are looking for a great party game then this one is great. There are some great settings to help FPS newbies and experts play pretty equally. If you don’t have a problem with motion sickness, I would strongly recommend this game…the levels that I did play were fun and pretty original. However, if you do have problems, go for Red Faction 2 or James Bond: Nightfire as these games are darker and there is not as much movement.

Time Splitters 2 is one of the best first person shooters ever developed. With its vast array of characters (125+), a huge selection of guns, and amazingly realistic environments, it is probably one of, if not the best game on the market for any system. The Arcade League, Story, and Challenge modes offer high replay value, although the Story mode is definitely not as fun or as challenging as the other two single player modes. One thing I liked was that there was a section that showed you your completion percentage, a gallery of all the playable characters you had unlocked, and your statistics. The Arcade Custom mode is the best multiplayer experience ever. Everything is highly customizable, including guns, bots, and such. As I said before, the environments are amazingly realistic. The wonderful Map Maker just adds icing to an already sweet cake. An online feature would have been nice, however, we can live without it. I would highly recommend this game to anyone.Enjoy!

The only problem one hit kills you but the game is fun.

We rented Time Splitters 2 game because of the multi-player co-operative mode. We spent hours playing it. The different levels were great; Western, Roaring 20’s, The future, The Past and etc. It was a lot of fun to play and now we are going to buy it. We liked it so much because you can play together and each level was like a puzzle. If you passed the puzzle, then your “time warp” opened up and you proceed to the next level. Your character also changes with each level. I totally recommend this game for anyone who likes co-operative play.

This game is great! 1 thing if you don’t have friends that come over your house a lot or dont have a brother or sister to play with DONT GET THIS GAME! Sure 1 players great but it’s really all about 2 player. challenge gets pretty hard during the last modes and so does story its still fun but hard. so get it for 1 and 2 player or dont get it!

I honestly have no idea what there is to say about this game that hasn’t been said already. Simply put this game is special. There aren’t many games where you can get the full satisfaction of shooting robot ducks with fishbowls on there head and fighting The gingerbread man, along with Time traveling aliens, what eles do you want. If your somewhat interested in picking up this game and you never played it, do yourself a favor and order it right now….literally
