The TXR series is one of a kind, this game started the free roam race. What other game has the hottest tuner cars (parts too), 200 virtual miles of tokyo highway, and seemingly endless amount of rivals? Only TXR it’s really a shame this game has’nt gotten the shine it deserves, this game reminds of when games were fun, not boring objective ridden programs. A big plus is that it’s way more accessible than GT4, meaning that you can just jump into this game and start racing, rather than finding which races your car qualifies for. Sure the graphics arent great and the physics arent the best, but for overall fun, this game is a definite must-own classic for any serious, passionate racer in your family or circle. If you’re a motor head and dont own this game and/or it’s predecessors along with GT4 than you are’nt a motorhead, you should just kill yourself. BUY IT!!!!!

This game has excellent gameplay and graphics. There are over 100 different cars to choose from and 300 different opponents to race with. This game also lets you customize your cars to get the most out of them. This game is next to Gran Turismo 3, but if you are a fan of imports and street racing, this game is for you.

for [the price] you cant go wrong buying this one it rocks if it had the graphics that gran turismo 3 has it would be better but they still made a great game. they could have added a few more realistic options but its still a great game 5 stars all the way!!!
the real speed king –
this game is hot,one of the best i believe and with the hook ups its even better. the skyline i won from "speed king" now has 1265 horse power (still looking for more) because of the 8th egine.I havent fully beaten this game yet because no wanders will race me but ill find one soon.so with cars like the WRX,Supra,Skyline,GTO or 3000GT,RX-7,Lancer,and NSX whats there not to like.

Every other racing game I’ve played has been on Playstation 1 and similar systems. When my girl wanted Zero, I dutifully bounced up to the store, wrapped it, stuffed it under the tree, and promptly forgot about it.Oh, if only I had known…She started racing that morning, while I tried to read a new book. I was soon leaning to the sides, offering advice and, inevitably, wanting to play. The selection of cars is fantastic. You can choose compacts, sedans, minvans (eventually) and every other kind of car you might imagine. The race-ways are interesting. Not just a series of straight lines with slow traffic left around like obstacles. Non-combatants will veer off from racers, or just change lanes and block your path. Looks very much like real drivers to me…Adjustments can be made to your vehicles. Tuning your engine for straightaways might take slightly different settings than tuning it for curves (although you can find a nice middle-ground to work with), and tuning for quick acceleration versus highest possible top-speed is a matter of personal choice. Enhancements such as engines, spoilers, new transmissions, far too many things to list here (about 20) allow you to customize your car to your needs. What I found most delightful, however, was the ability to adjust your brakes, steering, spring on front and back wheels separately, and all the other little touches you can make on your car. Even paint jobs, if you like.Do you lose when you race? Often enough. But as you learn more.

If ur a hardcore racer this is the game for u. I street race in real life, and it helps give u an idea how to modify ur real ride. u get Japanese supercars like the NSX, RX7, Skyline, Supra, Lancer EVO, Impreza WRX STi, 280zx. You Even get the European Supercars Like the Porshe 911, BMW M3, Lexus GS400, Lexus SC400, Lexus IS300. Then u get Domestic Muscle with the Dodge Viper V10 engine. When u race u race at night and challenged other racers or get challenged by other racers and then u race with other rival race members and there Leaders of there racing crew… and the wanderers that’s the most exciting part because most of them u need to qualify to race them…then there are the Devils, and Zodiaks (top dog racing teams of the game) you get to race them for rank and for $$$ to hook up ur ride. there is atleast 200 miles of track to race so its never ending plus u get to race in 2 player mode too…and there is a (Fast and Furious) preview too.It gives u an opportunity to hook up ur ride by putting on different variations of body kits from the side skirts, front bumper, overfenders, rear bumpers, hoods, change the headlights (for rally racing on the EVO or the STi WRX) and add spoiler for downforce. Then u are able to paint ur car any color u want wether it be orange or plain black. In tokyo xtreme you are able to go for show or for speed. If its speed u can get different stage mufflers and engines, new tranny’s, clutches, etc. Or if your gonna go for both u can have a show.

This game is pretty good as far as racing goes. The cars look good and the surrounding city skyline looks pretty good also. The upgrades are awsome at first but after you buy everything available you still find yourself getting beaten by faster cars. I worked hard to build the car that I drive, but now I need to sell it and start from scratch to compete with the big boys. Not a bad game, I just was expecting more. Looking forward to GT3!
