As a fan of the Tomb Raider games, I have the whole collection, and yes there are some major disappointments in the series that have made players turn away from the series in the past (the ones that come to mind are TR: Chronicles & TR Angel of Darkness) while each one had their moments of enjoyability, they weren’t “true” Tomb Raider Games to me, but with Tomb Raider: Legend, the writers of the game seemed to have gone back to the concept of Tomb Raider and started it anew. Now I know that previous reviewers have made comments concerning the shortness of the game. True, the game is shorter than the original, but the graphics seem to make up for it. I mean hey…Laura looks almost human in this game, so when you think about it, it kinda balances everything out.Another upside of the game is that there is something specific that she is after that we the players know about from the onset of the game, instead of us learning at some point halfway through what it is she is after. She is after the fragments of a sword that may or may not be some version of Excalibur, which will help her a great deal at a later point of the game, and while she is doing that, she is also exploring the very reason she is doing what she is doing and what it was that really killed her parents, and how her parents deaths several years ago are connected with what she is doing in the present.Of course a few changes that players of the classic games need to get used to are the different controls…well to be s.

We prefer this to Anniversary, lots of fun for your bucks and great for anyone looking for a reasonably lengthy action game. It’s been better reviewed by so many other people that play these games all the time – we enjoyed it.

…because this game more than makes up for all of the faults in Angel of Darkness. There are no bugs here; the camera will not suddenly decide that we need to see Lara’s face RIGHT NOW and swing around in the middle of a critical jump. The controls once again feel light and agile, as they should, instead of feeling heavy and tanklike. Some of my favorite features are as follows…-Lara now has a host of close-combat moves in her arsenal, including a nifty “aerial” attack that allows her to vault off of an enemy’s head, “heightening her awareness” and allowing her to do more damage.-Lara now carries a PDA that provides you with information about the guns that she is currently holding, as well as listing the objectives of a current level. I find this useful because I usually just pause the game instead of getting to a stopping point, and sometimes I need to refresh my memory.-No more flares! Lara now has a PLS (personal light system) mounted on one of her backpack straps. The PLS lasts longer than a flare and is recharged via kinetic energy.-Lara wears a headset that allows her to keep in touch with her friends at Croft Manor. Their conversations provide you with tips, background information, and witty banter. This feature, (along with a well-developed storyline, great cutscenes, and even flashback levels) makes it seem as though you are “playing” a very action-packed movie.-New “interactive cutscenes” require you to press buttons with the correct timing to get Lara out of some.

This game is a whole lot of fun. I played almost all of the old Tomb Raider games on Play Station. I decided to try it with a PC version this time. It took me a while to get used to all of the keyboard and mouse commands. There are a lot to remember in this game. Since I’m used to a certain way of playing on a PC, I spent some time customizing the keyboard and mouse. Once I got everything set, the game played very well (especially since I’m running it on an old 1.2Ghz laptop with an older Ge-Force card. I really like the environment in this game as well as the challenges. The good:- Really Fun to play.- Stunning graphics.- Many cool moves to learn.- Great story line- Nice cinematics. The not so good:- Occasionally, I had some difficulty fighting the animals that attacked me. They always ended up at my feet and Laura’s head would be in the way of me seeing them (and shooting them). To be fair to the game, there might be a better way to fight the animals than the way I use.Bottom line: A great buy. I would definiately recommend this game to anyone who likes Tomb Radier or anyone that likes this type of game in general.

I like Tomb Raider, and I have almost all of the tomb Raider series now. I will not resell them, cause I go back after a while and replay them just to find the jewels. The person selling this is a good judge of disk, cause I have had no problems out of the disk.

First off, let’s face a horrible fact: since about the second Tomb Raider game, the series has just plain sucked. Fortunately, with some key personnel back on board, the folks at Crystal Dynamics and Eidos have put together Tomb Raider Legend, a game that’s much more true to what made the series actually attractive in the first place.Of course, Lara Croft is back as the well-endowed and athletic protagonist, and this time she’s going to delve into a mystery that involves her parents, long lost friends, and plenty of ancient ruins to explore through.Unlike past Tomb Raider games, Legend goes back to its roots with a healthy does of exploration and puzzle-solving. You’ll still use your dual pistols, complete with infinite ammo, to take out plenty of bad guys throughout the game, but the killing of various wildlife is pretty much gone. There will be a leopard or an attack dog to kill every once in a while, but mostly you’re going to be fighting various commandos that also want whatever Lara’s looking for in those ruins.Combat is much more stylish than in the earlier games. Lara can still flip, dive, and roll while shooting, but now she’s got even more acrobatic moves. Charge an enemy and slide at them while shooting, and you’ll pop them up into the air, ragdoll-physics-style, and keep shooting them. Jump at an enemy and then jump again once your feet reach their face, and Lara will do a graceful, slow motion backflip off of the guy’s head while shooting him simultaneously. We’ve.

I’m somewhat surprised by the disparity in reviews of TOMB RAIDER: LEGEND. I’ve played through half of it so far, and I think it’s a solid game. Not perfect, but a lot of fun.I haven’t played TOMB RAIDER since the very first PS1 game, so I missed the downward spiral of previous games. The environments are great, and I think the controls are really good. I like the additional “second chance” grabs lifted from GOD OF WAR, and the interactive cinematics. In fact, I wish there were more of them. Every time I see an action cinematic I want to participate. The puzzle solving is just tricky enough, and searching for the “gold rewards” on each level is -really- hard… but fun. Admittedly, I need the internet’s help to find most of the gold prizes. I guess I’m losing my skills. The motorcycle sequences are lame. I understand the desire to mix it up, but I’m not sure this was the way. If the driving controls were better, if the track environments were more exploratory, and if the shooting element was removed, I think it would be far more enjoyable.I’m surprised that people are harping on the costume changes. They’re non-essential, but they’re fun enough. A harmless, entertaining addition, and I like it. Exploring Croft Manor, however, is a little tiresome. The climbing room was boring… I would’ve enjoyed more secret tunnels and riddle solving instead.Three final gripes… 1) I wish the camera view were wider. I’m playing WideScreen on an NTSC monitor and I still wish I could see more..
