The gameplay system of “Dead To Rights”, the Jacking ability of “Grand Theft Auto”, A similiar Chinese Mythology to “Fear Effect”(I wonder why they put this in a city type game, it’s not really realistic)And It a Chow-Yun Fat movie cover(Doesn’t it look like the cover of the replacment killers?) Well this is how it breaks downPros:Great GraphicsHollywood voice actingBanging soundtrackPretty good storyyou can be Snoop, allright!cop missions range from simple arrests, to exploding shootoutsCan carry 2 weapons(And they don’t have to be the same)Cons:Game can go from easy, to straight out hardThe stealth missions are no brainers(just hit person before you hear a buzz)The game isn’t really all that bloodyThe chinese mythology isn’t really nessaceryWAY 2 SHORT!! OI beat game in 2 days, with all endingsWhy can’t I upgrade from pistols to automatics, that woulda been tightAutomatics run out too quickSometimes, old ladys have guns, is LA really that bad!? MaybeThat Korean guy is a big thorn in my side, every time I fight him.Neutral:Unlimited ammo to me seems like cheating, but it can be good at alot of timesThe replay value is depending wether you like the game or notIt’s got a ton of flaws, but it somehow won over my fun side. It may not be near the GTA franchize, but it’s something good to play while waiting for the next Grand Theft Auto. It’s a much better choice than State of Emergency, which I failed liking while waiting for Vice City. I recomend a rental, you’ll beat it in a short time, and if you like, then you should buy, if not, well it’s better to waste $4 than $50.Peace

The product showed on time and I love this game. It’s kindda like gta but on the police perspective. Evenso, it’s kind of nice to be distracted from gta

You are the law in True Crime Streets of LA and you, to a degree, get to decide what the law is. As an agent of a independent law enforcement organization you get to choose how to uphold order and bring justice to criminals to an extent. There is a pretty 90’s grade cop movie story that gives the game direction and it’s pretty well written and very exhilarating. Plus, you can choose to be a good cop or bad cop and that actually will branch into different story lines. The open world of LA is pretty expansive, in fact almost to expansive as a fair amount of the map is bland and not very memorable but a big place to roam around and play in none the less. Enemy conflicts are where the game shines the most with some of the best hand to hand combat fighting of the time. The gun play is also very unique and innovative. You’ll be constantly diving around dual wielding all kinds of mix matched weapons and feeling awesome while you do it. True crime is a complete single player package and well worth the money.I would say buy this game if you own a PS2

This is the city of endless clips and vendettas in need of recompense. I am a fan of this series as it stands and this game didn’t disappoint!
Turtles all the Way Down –
I was surprised how accurate they were about the streets of Los Angeles in this game. They had the major streets as well as the smaller streets in their correct locations, but regarding the scenery in this game, there is no difference between the Rodeo/Dayton intersection(Beverly Hills) and the Normandie/Florence intersection(South Central) which are VERY different in real life. The game gets pretty redundant.
Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City
is better on every level, but this can be a nice break if you ever tire of GTA.

I thought this game would be great and they didn’t let me down. It’s hard not to compare this to Grand Theft Auto for obvious reasons. It’s too bad the controls of different cars weren’t as smooth as GTA’s. Lots of times it feels like you’re sliding instead of rolling. The only other gripe I have is that stupid dragon boss fight. I didn’t see any sense in adding this “horror” feature to a “shooter” game. These two quirks prevented me from giving it 5 stars. Surprisingly, I did enjoy the fighting scenes. I stay away from fighting games because I am no good at them and they just don’t interest me, but this game made it easy. Although I did not learn all of the special finishing moves, the three I did know got me through it. Upgrading your fighting, driving, and shooting skills got tougher, but the challenge was fair. The city is HUGE, bigger than any other map I’ve played in a game, except maybe “The Getaway”. The side missions are endless, which gives it great replay value.Oh yeah, stay away from “No One Lives Forever” for Playstation 2 unless you plan on using the CD as a frisbee or a coaster.

You probably heard it’s like GTA and I know that gets annoying compareing games to GTA. The graphics are average with a pretty good selection of music. I like the fighting system they have when you take somebody on one on one with you fists. The driveing could of been better and I think that’s what dissapointed me the most. I like the idea of how you can kill people and be a bad cop or help people out and be a good cop. The missions and story line aren’t to bad for being this type of a game. You can also frisk people on the street for drugs or shoot a warning shot in the air to warn criminals. This game is totally worth paying 20 to 30 bucks for.

True Crime is not a complete GTA clone, but instead of just running around and killing people, you get to go on missions. Yes, your probably thinking that i havent played GTA to its fullest, but i have. I own gta 3 and gta vc, and i love them. This game takes the character and throws him into underground tunnels to do Max Payne/Enter the Matrix action. The weapon system is like State of Emergency because you pick up weapons, use them, and lose them. Now instead of stopping there, they threw in a whole Street Fighter thing. After you drive ruthelessely, dodge bullets, and hang with hookers, you get to beat the crap out of your enemies the Street Fighter way. Oh, and one more thing, the BEST part of the game is the in car gun duels. Driving by on behind someone and IN SLOW MOTION blowing them to smitherines, is by far the coolest thing. Think MATRIX RELOADED for the highway scene and than think of a videogame, GTA style.

I had been hearing so much about this game, and couldn’t wait for it to come out, then I finally played it and was a little disapointed. I wanted to like this game so much more, but there were big-time flaws. Don’t get me wrong though, there are also some good features as well. You are Nick Kang, fresh out of suspension and onto LA’s E.O.D. squad. Time to take the streets back and find out what happened to your father. Drive, fight and shoot your way through a huge, accurate recreation of Los Angeles. While playing the game, there is a good cop, bad cop meter. If you use deadly force on a suspect or kill an innocent, you get bad cop points. If you arrest a suspect or bust someone with drugs or a weapon you get good cop points. If you have a good or bad cop rating affects the storyline and the outcome of the game which is cool. The storyline: OK, the storyline is alright at first for a video game, but then it takes a “Big Trouble in Little China” twist and all of the sudden your fighting flying-demon heads and demonic concubines. Then the final ending is also pretty damn stupid, after defeating the last boss there is no additional information to the story. Also there aren’t that many missions, and they are pretty easy. I got 100% mission and upgrade completion in 2 days. The gameplay is really what prevented this game from being outstanding. When driving, it feels like you’re drving a tractor on an ice-rink. The handling sucks, the cars are slow, and the controls aren’t very good. When in shooting mode, you have an auto-aim which works pretty good, or you can zoom in for manual-more-precise shots. The problem is that takes a few seconds and you usually get blown away while doing it. When there are guns on the ground you can kick them up and catch them and start shooting which is cool. The fight mode has some cool moves and combos, but when fighting certain characters it doesn’t make sense. There aren’t certain moves or buttons to counter the other persons moves, you just have to hit random buttons and hope it will hit them some of the time. You can also pick up knives and penetrate an enemies skull to kill them, which is really cool. There is also a “Metal Gear” style sneak mode where you stay silent, hide from enemies and use a tranquilizer gun. What adds to the entertainment value of the game are some of the other features. While driving around you get calls from dispatch about crimes in your area and you can but these criminals if you want. Some of funnier ones were: busting people at an anti-videogame rally, saving talk-show host Jay Deleno’s car, stopping a truck full of fake Puma gear, and arresting a diseased prostitute. You can also walk around and shakedown anyone you want, searching them for weapons or drugs, there really is no point to it though, it only gives you good cop points. Throughout the game you also get to fight crazy bums and strippers! The graphics are good, no problems there. The soundtrack is outstanding, this best video game soundtrack I’ve heard so far. If you don’t like rap you probably won’t like it though. Voice-overs by Christopher Walken (nice!) and other celebrities, and Nick Kang has some funny lines.Overall a good game, but not quite as good as I had hoped. The gameplay and story just weren’t cutting it. It is worth a play-thru though, but I say rent it before you buy.
