Very fun game, good delivery by amazon, great condition

I got this game very quickly, and enjoyed it very much. It was interesting to see the evolution of this title from the Super Nintendo all the way up to the Xbox360. Overall, this game is worth the money.

    Turok.

Game is different than other shooters. Combat is repetitive but fun. Overall it’s a good game. I enjoy playing it. Look forward to future purchases.

It’s not bad, but it’s not really good either

It’s not bad, but it’s not really good either.I was really looking forward to a good dino shooter, because we don’t see any of those being made anymore. However, I got Jurassic: The Hunted, and THAT is a great dino shooter. Even as a modest budget title, it knows how to deliver the goods. Get that one instead. This one is a poor halo rip-off, and strangely enough, dinosaurs are the minority of enemies you fight. The vast majority of enemies are the same gray, faceless, space-marines. They don’t even bleed when you shoot or stab them. They just produce sparks. It’s just dull, and sucks all the life and fun out it’s promising premise.

Did not work, took longer than expected and hard to get in touch with the seller about a refund.

    It didn’t work

    No hype – just fun

This game has received many negative, undeserved comments. I would like to clear the air and say that I had a blast playing it. The weapons are very cool and original, unlike many of the other FPS on the market. I think the game has stayed very true to it’s roots, kill dinosaurs and maniacs. The creators have managed to make one more Turok game without it feeling like a remake. I wish this could be said for many of the other FPs games that just keep repeating themselves ( Tom Clancy could take a lesson in this department ).The game play and controls are some of the best, and I have played all the big name FPS games. The knife kills take the melee attacks to a new level. The enviroments and backgrounds alone make the game worth playing. The A.I. will keeep you constantly moving, no more getting comfortable and picking your shots. You will have to think while you fight. The designers have clearly made a huge effort to stay away from the standard FPS format and really paid off. This game made me remember why I love video games.

Poor controls and game play, but ok

The game controls were poor and would get stuck when the character is walking. Like and the plot’s and gameplay is confusing, I got lost and trapped in a cave for an hour and turned the game off as I couldn’t get out. It’s kinda fun at the beginning but slowly turns into a lame and tame game. Not anything to brag about

    Could’ve been a contender

I have fond memories of the first Turok on the N64. The original was a very good ,well balanced game. I really enjoyed it. But this version leaves allot to be desired. The levels are painfully linear ,while that’s not always a bad thing,it’s just that in the jungle I had hoped for a more open jungle environment. The knife is also insanely overpowered against the majority of the dino’s ,usually one screen prompted LT pull and there dead in an instant. While this also ins’t such a bad thing, but unfortunatley what it advertently does is take away some of the suspense of being hunted by dino’s. Like the first game I remember being tense and worried about the next dino encounter ,this game quickly lets you know with a knife in your hand ,you can kill them in one fell swash of the blade. I digress though the very last boss battle is a sight to behold, you actually encounter 3 large T-rex’s throughout the game, but the VERY last one is HUGE and looks quite good. Unfortuneatley a few well placed shotgun blasts to the head and he’s down fairly easy. The last 2 levels actually are better than the first 80% of the game. I wish the devs had started there and moved up. You’ll also encounter human enemies which all can be fed to the dino’s with some manipulation from you,but this is more gimmick than a deep, meaty part of the gameplay. While I have fond memories of the first game’s entire package , This version uses too many ,tired and overdone FPS staples. I expected much more from the Turok series and I had high hopes this game would’ve been much better. Instead you get a linear ,cookie cutter FPS ,with some dino’s thrown in for the fun of it. I had imagined an open vast area ,with a bow on my back and a knife in my hand. Maybe some weird combination of Just Cause open-ness combined with the gameplay mechanics of the first game. But instead you get a linear, basic coridoor shooter disguised as an open jungle game. It’s worth a playthrough for the LAST BOSS ,and the last 2 levels offer up some good FPS gameplay action. But I hold TUROK to high standards, if I was producer or developer I would’nt have signed off this game as being done. Turok deserves more respect. But for $20 it’s a good deal IMO. PEACE

    I actually dig the game…

Compared to top-notch FPSs like Halo and Bioshock, Turok doesn’t measure up. However, if you take Turok for what it is, it’s, in my opinion, a good game.Gameplay could be better but it’s at least satisfactory. Expect to die fairly frequently but Turok is not a run-and-gun game; you have to plan your attack (which is why you have stealth weapons like the bow and knife). The dual-wielding of almost every weapon helps in the harder parts. Personally, I like my enemies to be a little hard to kill, no one or two-shot kills. Turok delivers this (sometimes a bit over-the-top, like when you’re fighting several enemies at once). Once again, Turok doesn’t compare to top-tier games like Halo, but it’s pretty high second-tier. Once you get the gameplay down it’s exciting and action-packed.The graphics and storyline impressed me (and I’m used to graphics-heavy games like Gears of War). The voice acting is great without exception and the visuals for the most part are really good. After reading mixed reviews about Turok, I rented it and had a blast. I’ll be buying it as soon as I can to continue the carnage, hah.
