Bought this game for my husband but decided to try it out myself one night… Usually not my kind of game I am more into the Dragon Age games and the Sims (1,2 & 3) But I did end up liking it surprisingly enough… For the price it was dead worth the buy… My husband loves it I think he ended up playing for hours the first time he turned it on… And I liked it myself

I love this game it blends ranged and melee combat really well

  3. Haas

This is the first third-person over the shoulder shooter I have enjoyed and not thought there was something just a bit off about it. Its fun the story is paced well and it has a variety of ass-kicking weapons that make it a total blast to slaughter hundreds of orkz at a time. The only problem I would say this game has is the online play is a little bit skimpy. Not a whole lot of maps but the customization of not only your load outs but also your spacemarine armor is fantastic and has you wanting to play more and more.

  4. Maddie Meyer

My husband loves the game, and plays it often. He enjoys the online play and tried on a few new characters as he levels up. There is no option to turn down the gore factor, so he cannot play it when the children are awake, but if you don’t have kids it won’t be an issue for you. He received it on Christmas day and has played it almost every evening for nine days. He says the story line is good and game mechanics are on target. He can’t foresee getting tired of this game ever.

  5. Eric von Doom

This is a great game at a bargain price (around $15). Gameplay is mostly melee based with some solid gunplay on the side. The melee is simple, two button stuff, but a simple twist keeps things interesting; ‘execution’ attacks are the go-to way to replenish health.Graphics are good, but environments get a little samey. The screen frequently overflows with Orks, and killing them always looks great. The sound design is spot on. I can’t recall the BGM at all, and the voice acting is just above competent, but best of all are the sound effects. Stub Guns burst with a pleasant violence and Chainswords rev and roar through soft, green flesh. The story is pretty simple, but the details will pass by the uninitiated. This my first exposure to anything Warhammer 40,000, and I had to consult Wikipedia regarding the minutia of the universe. That said, I liked the unique setting enough to go out and buy a Warhammer 40,000 novel (there are hundreds. People on retrolio recommend author Dan Abnett).Hearing and seeing the slaughterhouse carnage, finding the zen of frantic murder and life-saving executions, it’s all truly cathartic. Get the game.

Lots of fun! Graphics were so-so

A co-worker of mine recommended this game to me, and I’m not too familiar with warhammer 40k, aside from the fact that it exists, but I picked it up out of curiosity. At the start, a few things seemed a bit odd: the faux-British accents on the Orks, the mangled Latin, the gigantomungous protagonists, but I found out that source material explains all that quite well. The game itself is a bit more complex than a simple shooter. Although you wade through your enemies with a massive murderboner the fact that you get swarmed in melee, and also can’t duck behind debris, forces you to slaughter your way throughout and not hide. As a matter of fact, you have to actively seek out executions in order to heal. As such, it’s fairly easy to get overwhelmed, both early in the game and even on the easy mode. Overall, it is a very fun game that presents quite a few challenges while also doing a good job subverting the action common in typical shooters.

This is a fun 3rd person shooter / hack and slash game. The story was decent. The difficulty was challenging but not too hard. The game play was fluid.I also found it did a decent job of capturing the feeling of the Warhammer 40K universe and space marines in general. If you like 40K, you will love this.

I must admit this game took me by storm. I thought I was doomed to play Halo and COD for the rest of my life. But no!! As a free download, I took it upon myself to give it a try, and WOW!! What a relief that a game finally catches my attention.Honestly, I could bore you with useless drivel over Space Marine, but you know what I’m getting at with this review.GO BUY AND TRY WARHAMMER TODAY!I don’t recommend games often because frankly most of them are terrible. So you know for a fact this is a great game, otherwise I wouldn’t waste my time recommending it to you.5 stars, A+, AWESOME GAME….. BOTH THE CAMPAIGN AND Multiplayer are awesome!!!SPACE MARINE!!!
