For one, it came incredibly quickly while I was home for the holidays. I was a little disappointed that it didn’t have splitscreen like the Forza’s before; but the overall game was awesome. I loved the storytelling mixed with the game and the cars were all I expected from a Forza game. I would recommend it to even a non-racing gamer.
here is the short and sweet version… If you are used to Forza Motorsport, it’s gonna take a little getting used to. Be sure to set the handling to simulation in the difficulty settings, but even then, certain cars are a bit squirrelly at times. Cars like the Peugeot 205 T16, which is a front wheel drive turbocharged class a monster, are pretty much uncontrollable due to the odd tweaks that were done to the fm4 physics engine. Other, heavier rwd and awd vehicles perform pretty much like they did in FM3 & 4, just a little… Touchier handling. This game has improved sense of speed over the old ones, which is much welcomed. Cars also have moving parts (spoilers, winglets) and working running lamps (as well as headlights and taillights at night), so this really gives you a realistic experience. Not to mention the world looks great and is pretty diverse for not being very big (everyone complains about the map size, but it’s still pretty far having to drive from one side of the map to the other even with the fastest of cars.). My only issues with the game are the oddly short day-night cycle, the absence of cops and the absence of more traffic/pedestrian traffic/a real urban environment (part of Denver would have been nice). Also I can’t really seem to justify paying an extra $15 for the Rally Expansion Pack, which I really want just for the rally parts and the new Subaru; other car models/brands fans may be equally disappointed in the lack of their favorite vehicles ingame. This is the first racing game I have bought for the 360. I enjoy it. I like a semi realistic driving experience and this delivers. It has just the right mix of arcade and simulation. The cars are fun to customize and I really enjoy the barn finds. The open world driving is great. I can participate in the main story line or just drive around and explore. All in all it keeps me entertained.
I cant recommend this game enough. its a blast and just fun to play, it doesn’t seem to have the grind that other forza games have and the open world is a blast to just mess around in. if you like race games and were on the fence this game is a buy for sure. my only complaint is that the expansion for full blown rally racing is not that great but its an option and you don’t have to purchase it. other than that its great I give the game a 9 out of 10

Bought this game in 2012 and WOW it’s back on the Xbox One X. Looks really good in 4k and I didn’t realize how much better the music was when they had more of a Dirt 2 vibe to things. I also like how the original Horizon game makes it more personal, with driver taunts at the start of races (again, thank you Dirt 2) and cut scenes with a little more content. One down side I found is that all of my cars, wrist bands and banked up credits didn’t come back to my Xbox One X. You pretty much get reset to zero again. BUT all of those credits I’ve been getting from the Forza Hub app were sitting in my inbox as messages so I was able to get some walking around money.The racing is still fun after 6 years and has that Forza 4 ‘feel’ to the cars that I still love. The 4k on Xbox One X really makes it worth installing again.
Love this series of racing games from Microsoft! This is a fin addition to the collection as it feels more like a video game but still has the physics of the other games. Different challenges and a variety of races make this another fun addition to your collection!
Amazing game, absolutely stunning graphics, fantastic cars!!! I can’t say enough about this amazing game. Hands down, the most fun open world, free roam racing game. Period. Countless vehicle customization options, hundreds of vehicles to choose from, hundreds of races to attend. They captured the scenery of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado in terrific detail, and there’s terrain for every type of driver! My favorite thing is to go up in the canyon with my buddies on multiplayer and have drifting competitions, screaming down the winding roads. Car handling is perfect in this game, once you learn the sensitivity it’s amazing. It’s not too easy that it gets boring, but it’s also easy enough that you can really enjoy yourself doing things you could never do in reality (drifting down insane corners doing 120 in an Mustang, topping out your Koenigsegg at 243 mph on the interstate, or taking an AWD lambo and doing pin-point donuts until the road is a sold black streak of burnt rubber)!
I like the cars best there are lots to pick from. The game is fun and fast I enjoyed that.

I liked this game. If you like racing games you’ll like this one, it’s a free roam type game, and you can drive around or sign up for races. The graphics are really good too.

The "diehard" Forza fan may be disapointed.Horizon does not allow fine tuning of upgraded cars. (ie: gear ratios, down force, ride height, tire pressure, etc.) Please note: I said FINE tuning. You still have a choice of PRESET options for upgrading your car. You just my find your engine hitting the rev limiter with no more gears to shift up to. This is where fine tuning gear ratios would come in handy. This isn’t much of a problem in preset races, but on the open highway…meh. That’s MY only complaint.But for what it lacks in customization, it makes up in it’s open world and online co-op/competitive play.It’s still Shi’loads of fun.Also, I heard Turn10 is adding a downloadible Rally expansion pack mid December. More dirt roads of ruts and gravel (so I’ve heard) Being a Rally Fan….I Hope so.

Whenever I played Forza games in the past I always took corners too fast and spun out. Anyone that’s played a realistic racing game (or raced in real life) realizes that’s because physics dictates that just because you turn the wheel, it doesn’t mean your momentum is immediately negated. Once you get used to the way real cars and real physics work, you begin to feel a satisfaction those other, arcade-y type games just don’t give you.The game starts you at the beginning of the Horizon Music Festival in Colorado, a festival that’s known as much for its races as it is for its musical guests. Unlike other Forza games, Horizon has a loose story holding it all together, and this allows a lot of room for some really cool events.Aside from all of the racing and upgrading you could do in other Forza games, this one features an open world to explore. You can drive around looking for opponents, scoring discounts on upgrades and find old cars in barns hidden all over the map to have restored and added to your garage.You also get the chance to take place in "Showcase Events", things like racing an airplane, racing a helicopter, racing with a bunch of Mini-Coopers around a tiny racetrack and more. The game tracks your popularity among the people at the Horizon festival and the more popular you are, the more of these events you get to participate in.You race through 5 or 6 different named opponents and rise through the ranks from rookie to pro to one day face the famous Darius Flynt.

I’ve played Forza 2-4 as well as other racing games and for my taste this has everything I’m looking for (open-driving, track racing, rally, licensed cars & the perfect ratio of realistic physics vs. arcade-style forgiveness). Maybe I’m crazy, but I even enjoy speeding around the game just for the fun of it.It’s really easy to earn money and new vehicles. If you adjust the difficulty you can make some of the races pretty challenging, but imo they’ve done a great job of balancing it all. You can also modify the performance of the cars, although there aren’t a ton of options for changing the looks (doesn’t bother me).It’s nice you can switch between the music selection. It’s somewhat varied, but before long you might find yourself getting sick of the same tunes.I think this game deserves 5 stars more so than 4, but obviously I’m not saying it’s perfect. I’m disappointed the DLC is so expensive, but luckily the variety of in-game vehicles is enough to satisfy most.

What can I say that a game review wont? This game is a blast.Completion time took me around 20 hours being experienced with racing games, however there is plenty of replay value to build up your garage if you wish. If youre interested in the horizon series and have an xbox 360 I HIGHLY recommend starting with this one. It does not have all of the new features of the newest versions of the game, but that will make you appreciate them so much more when you move up to the sequels.

Great game…Thats it. Unfortunately many people who play this game give it a negative review expecting Forza "Motorsport" when this is a different racing genre. If you are looking for great looking cars, day/night cycles, hanging out with friends, casual, amazing, unique racing game, then this is for you. If your looking for a racing game where u can tune your honda civic to go 400 mph, then you should probably wait until another motorsport comes out. Overall, its a great game.
