NINTENDO WII U – FEATURES

Once again, Nintendo brought a new way to play with the Wii U, with its innovative GamePad. Its integrated touchscreen adds a new layer of immersion, as apart from remote play, it will also be displaying maps and inventories in your favorite games.

STRONG SPECIFICATIONS

Running on strong, custom-made hardware containing a CPU running at 1.24 GHz, a GPU clocked at 550 MHz and 2GB of RAM, the Wii U is the first Nintendo console to support HD graphics. The system features low-latency in transmitting data to the gamepad thanks to a special type of Wi-Fi it uses to connect to the device.

OFF-TV PLAY

Using the Wii U controller’s built-in screen, you can now play video games without using the TV, at a distance of up to 10 meters! As long as you have the Wii U on, you can pretty much play off-tv in any room of your house.

NINTENDO WII U – THE GAMES

With over 700 games in its library, full backwards compatibility with Wii games and virtual consoles for the NES, SNES, GBA, N64 and DS, the Wii U will provide you with countless hours of entertainment, be it through its main titles, or by taking you back to retro gaming.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE WIND WAKER

Part of the beloved Legend of Zelda series, The Wind Walker is set on a group of islands in a vast sea. The player controls series protagonist Link as he attempts to save his sister from the sorcerer Ganon and becomes embroiled in a struggle for the Triforce, a sacred wish-granting relic. Aided by allies including pirate captain Tetra – an incarnation of Princess Zelda – and a talking boat named the King of Red Lions, Link sails the ocean, explores islands, and traverses dungeons to acquire the power necessary to defeat Ganon.

NINTENDOLAND

This party title features twelve minigames, each based on an existing Nintendo franchise that will take full advantage of the Wii U’s innovative controller. The game takes place in an amusement park, with attractions representing its minigames, which vary from solo to team and even competitive experiences, for countless hours of fun. You can even play using Wii Remotes and Nunchuks!

SUPER SMASH BROS

Featuring 58 playable characters including 17 newcomers from beloved Nintendo franchises, this crossover fighting title will have you and your friends battling it out to see which Nintendo character is the ultimate fighting machine! The gameplay is now enhanced by the 1080p resolution, new arenas and even three new exclusive game modes: Smash Tour, Special Orders, and Event Mode.

You can even play with up to 4 of your friends, with the GamePad allowing you to manipulate the environment!

NEW SUPER LUIGI U Nintendo Wii U Console Bundle

If Luigi is your favorite of the two plumbers, then this game is for you! With him placed as the star of the game, the levels are similar to those of New Super Mario Bros, but they have been made slightly shorter and far more challenging.

Great shop, more dusty than what was said. Still, for that price, great buy

Let me start off by saying I am a long time Nintendo fan. I started out in the early 90’s with an NES, followed by an N64, followed by the Wii, and now the Wii U.I love Nintendo for allowing backwards compatibility on the Wii U and for allowing us to transfer our content from the original Wii onto the Wii U. I have to say this though, the instructions made it tough to transfer at first between the two consoles. I ended up having to go to a youtube video just to see how it was done and I finally managed to do it. Just make sure you have an SD card, as well as your original wii remotes ready (preferably 2 wii remotes if you have them. 1 will do the job, but that requires constant syncing and unsyncing between the Wii U and the original Wii console. If you have 2, then you just need 1 remote synced to each console, making it much easier and faster to transfer your content). Keep in mind, once you transfer your content, your original Wii is empty. Everything you did is now on the Wii U.Now, let’s move onto the Gamepad. The gamepad is an interesting way to play. I personally did not think I would like the gamepad that much (I am very picky when it comes to controllers), but I actually do find it to be quite fun to play on. Some games, like Nintendo land, have you use it a lot. Then there are others, such as Super Mario U, that give you the option to use the gamepad or the original Wii Remote. With Nintendo Land, you can do fun things such as tilt the remote to move your character around. Then there are others that allow you to use the gamepad to look around, almost giving you that full 3D effect in a sense. It’s definitely different from any other console out there!Furthermore, the gamepad makes navigation a lot easier in comparison to the original Wii. On the original Wii, typing on the keyboard required you to use the wii remote to point at each letter on the TV screen (this was a pain in the behind because it was such a slow process!!!). Now, on the Wii U, the keybo.

    Exactly as advertised

Very user friendly and problem free, my son set it up for the old folks to watch Netflix. Friends with kids come over and the kids are able to play. There aren’t too many games–otherwise it would get 5 stars.

I’m what you would consider a casual gamer. I like to play video games every once in a while, but I don’t need to have the biggest and best of the video game systems. I’m also a father of two younger kids (a boy age 6 and a daughter age 7) who like to play video games but aren’t quite ready for the Halo and Call of Duty games of the world. This meant that the Wii U was pretty much our only choice. We have had a Wii for about 3 years. While the kids loved the games, dad was getting bored to tears with only being able to play Mario games all the time. (not that there is anything wrong with Mario! My kids love him and we have many stuffed toys featuring Mario characters around the house!)My really big decision was between the 32GB system or the 8GB system. The biggest difference to me was price (about $50) I ultimately chose the 32GB system because I figured that I would not wish that I had more space later on (turns out I was wrong more on that later.) plus, the console with more storage also came with a game.

Nintendo’s next generation system, called the Wii U, is the first of the eight generation systems to release in stores. But is it worth your money? Or should you pass it up for another system?Simply put: No! Do not neglect the Wii U, just because the other systems have more power. The Wii U has so many features and upgrades to it, that you’ll definitely want to try it! Let’s take an examination of each of the important aspects as to what makes a console a good console:1. HardwareThe Wii U’s hardware is pretty much a mixture between a PS3 and a Wii. On one hand, you have the online functionality and graphics of the PS3 and the Nintendo innovation of the Wii. The two mix very well, taking my favorite parts of the last generation’s systems. Top that off with an innovative way to play games, the off-TV play, and you’ve got possibly the best hardware in gaming thus far!The off-TV play is much more useful than you might think. Having the Wii U for about a year now, my family and I have used the off-TV play function about as much as the normal function. It’s very useful if someone wants to watch the game or their soap operas or even play another system. When someone wants to play our PS3, I can easily play Wii U on the gamepad, which leads to less frustration. Sony tries to mimic this with the PS Vita, but the PS4 and Vita together cost about $400 more than a Wii U.It also comes with bonus features such as Nintendo TV and Miiverse. I want to talk specifically about Miiverse, because I think it’s one of the best additions to the Wii U. Miiverse is an online community where users can talk about any games that are on Wii U. It has a strict policy that doesn’t allow vulgar language or anything sexually explicit. This is especially nice for people like me who can’t play online due to foul-mouths. However, I should mention that certain communities find it easier to get away with things than others. The battery life has been criticized, but I don’t think it’s a big deal. Though i.
