Okay first off, allow me to explain my love for Nintendo products. Like many of you, I have purchased every console they have released since the N64 (mainly for GoldenEye/Super Smash). They make very enjoyable and user friendly consoles. Every one of them, aside from the Wii U, is a 5 out of 5 in my book.To spare your eyes from reading a novel, I would like to break down my opinions into Pro’s and Con’s and then elaborate upon a specific Con that I shouldn’t have mistaken before purchasing.Pro’s:-The GamePad; I mentioned user friendly right? Well this thing is as easy to understand as it can get. My newborn can understand this intuitive controller. You can play your games on it without hogging the TV (for when the wife’s gotta rewatch every episode of Breaking Bad) and it’s easy to see without putting your contacts/glasses on!-It’s quiet; you won’t hog the TV or it’s volume with a noisy console!-The Games; there are some solid games that have already been released (The latest Super Smash, Mario Party, and Mario Kart, to name a few) and there are more to come!-It’s Cheap; seriously just compare that price tag to the Xbone or PS4.Con’s:-The Games; I know I said there are a few great games on this console and there are more to come, however, Few is the key word.-Charge Cables; the controllers all have different sized charging cables! WHY?! It would have been so much better if they all shared a standard size!-3DS Screen Share; it doesn’t exist. I bought this console, mostly for Super Smash Brothers and Xenoblade Chronicles X, but from somewhere, I got the idea that it could screen share with a 3DS. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate needs to be played on a larger screen, and with the GamePad, I thought that was a possibility! I was wrong. To put this myth to rest, THERE IS NO 3DS SCREEN SHARE GUYS, DON’T SPREAD THAT MYTH!That is how I feel about my recent purchase of the Wii U.Thank you for reading,Marcus Strait

5 stars because it came as I expected for a decade old used console. The only issues were cosmetic – an easy fix with console skins that you can easily purchase online. A good buy since I anticipated the cosmetic wear.

My step son loves his Wii U. He is able to play in his bedroom with it or if he wants to be downstairs with the rest of the family he is able to stay connected and still play his game.

We love this thing – it’s everything the Wii should have been. Setup was a breeze and bringing over my old Wii accessories was a snap. Only hiccup has been connecting with existing Nintendo account.

Nintendo really did itself this time! I always played Wii at friends houses, but never owned one myself. I did have to buy a couple of Wiimotes so I could play the old games. What fun! But, of course I HAD to have ZombieU, New Super Mario Bros. There’s no option to go to the Miiplaza when you go in Wii mode. I thought it would be nice to hang out there with Wii friends. You can’t email them either. Its’ like a neighborhood you can’t visit. But, you can still shop at Wii store. Why would I want to buy Wii games if I can’t play with anyone online??Downloading at Nintendo e-shop is fun too! The only thing I don’t like about downloading is you can’t trade the games in at you local game store. And, if the game is discontinued or you delete your Nintendo Id, not only won’t be available for download anymore, but you lose all your money you have on account at the store. Huh….not very good! I only plan on purchasing cheap games at the e-shop. Lots of folks at the Miiverse downloaded Lego City: Undercover. Its a 22 gig download, $50 game that can take 4 hours or more to download! Isn’t it easier to just buy the disk??There are USB ports so you can have a external hard drive, but I’m not sure you can keep an uninstall copy of the downloaded software on it as a reserve copy. I think its just for saved play. Any advice someone can give me on this would be appreciated :)There is no Ethernet port on the back, none….I was quite unhappy with this. I like options. But, you can buy a Wii Lan adapter ($24;) you insert in the usb port on the back then your Ethernet cable in that! Viola! You can get online without wireless if you choose to.Lots of people are complaining about the battery. Dies after 2 hours? People play for more than 2 hours?? I don’t have to worry about that I don’t have 2 hours just to play games, so I’m good! LOL!Anyway its still Merry Christmas to me in March! LOL!You can even watch tv while someone is playing with the game pad, play your old Wii.

Like most people I was hesitant to pick this up because of all the mediocre reviews. I’m a 28 year old married working professional (pediatrics resident) and like many adults I don’t have time to spend playing hours and hours of video games. I wanted something I could pick up recreationally and just have fun with (although i do look for a deep meaningful gaming experience, as well). I also wanted something I could use for party games with other people. I strongly considered xbox one. But a couple things really turned me off to that. For one I think its stupid (and genius) that you have to pay a subscription fee for any online service. I already paid $500 and now I have to pay $60/year more! That’s ridiculous! Then I also realized that no game in the xbox one or xbox 360 lineup sounded as fun as nintendo games I had spent hundreds of hours playing (wii sports first, then mario, donkey kong, mario kart!!!, the ‘trauma’ series, just dance). I could pull out mario kart and EVERYONE loved playing it.The wii u piqued my interest for many reasons but mostly the price seemed right. The deluxe bundle with two games (mario and luigi) was $299. I also picked up nintendo land at gamestop for $13.50 and two wii motion plus add-ons for like $15 each. This has been the best gaming decision I could have possibly made!!!Reason #1: backwards compatibleI can play all my old wii games that I know and love!!! And I don’t have to invest in all new controllers and stuff. ALSO, I just found out that a recent update now allows you to do a one time transfer from your wii!!! That means I don’t have to re-purchase super mario 3, super mario world, street fighter, or the other games I had bought. No one seems to know about this (even thr nintendo reps I had asked!) But for previous wii owners this is a huge plus!!!Reason #2: the second screen is a God send to every married man or person in similar situationI’m with friends and they want to watch football, I wanted to mess around with the wii.
