I have always gotten all the smackdown games…i have them all…and I like all of them and yes they have gotten better every year..THIS Years version is very good…they new controll setup new story lines the graphics its all good…Once you get use to the new control setup then it is a blast…BUT there are still a few things that neeed to be fixed…The annoucing is the same year after year…its the same diolauge as last year no change….the music is terrible I dont know where they get this stuff but i mute it everytime i am waiting for it to load…and the load times are slow…slower this year then before that is the only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars…hope they change that next year….

I’ll begin by stating that I’ve also reviewed and given high praise to the original title of this series – but SVR07 is great for different reasons and in general is a different type of wrestler in my opinion. The earlier titles like HCTP and SVR were noticeably more fast-paced in the action and therefore less realistic compared to the real life experience. SVR06 began the more sim-like type of gameplay which some prefer (while others hate – a matter of preference). In my opinion SVR07 has the game pace down perfectly. Along with this they added some more functionality to the control scheme. Not only do you have the typical 4 categories of moves to go into, but once there instead of hittin up/down/left/right you also have an option if using the R3 to go into an Ultimate Control Move which is typically a choice of 2 or 3 moves. So in theory each wrestler now has 8 to 12 additional moves at their disposal. While speaking of Ultimate Control Moves; for those fans of Scott Hall who are/were dissapointed in the lack of a Razor’s Edge in this installment – it’s still there, but only accessable via an Ultimate Control Move. This takes away the fun of using it as a finisher but it’s nice to know it’s still there on some level. The graphics were the best for any SVR title on the ps2 before or after it. You could argue they maintained the same level in the following titles but unless they were exceeded it’s not really worth giving THQ credit for managing to keep their level of qual.

As the series gets better 2007 will be remembered as a classic game for the ps2 console recomended for any wwe fan who wants to complete their Smackdown vs Raw collection

  8. Drago

This game Smackdown vs RAW 2007 is one the best WWE games ever. The graphics are so much better than previous years, and would be the one to set the tone for all WWE games to come. THQ did an awesome job putting this game together. Note: This game features Chris Benoit as a playable character because it came out late 2006, before his tragic death on June 24th 2007. Another thing I must say is that this was the first Playstation 2 WWE game I ever played, and I loved it! All in all a very fun and entertaining WWE game. Great for any WWE fan with a Playstation 2 or another Playstation model that can play Playstation 2 games.

This game is Awesome the season mode is different for raw and smack down this game is certainly my favorite of the svr series.

  10. Dan Belmont

This years’ installment of Smackdown vs. Raw has some high points and some low ones. First off, the addition of the “Ultimate Control” moves is definately a highlight; being able to hang up your opponent on the ropes, repeatedly smash their head into the ring steps and announce table are a few things that add a bit more realism to the experience which is definately worth mentioning. There is also the ability to take the fight into the crowd, although that feature is not enabled for all match types. Also, GM mode has recieved a facelift, adding the Power 25 from wwe.com to gauge how “over” certain wrestlers are and who could use a better push, and being able to hire writers to create rivalries for your wrestlers which in turn generate better ratings, as opposed to just starting one yourself by keeping two wrestlers involved in the same matches every week like last year is a vast improvement.Season Mode and Legends:On to the problems with the game, which I’m sad to say are many. For starters, season mode is an absolute bore, but is essential if you hope to earn cash to unlock the Legends in the game, as well as earn experience points to jack up your created wrestlers. Speaking of legends, was it really necessary to include all of Mick Foley’s characters in the game? It seems that they were just looking to beef up the Legend roster and this was the easiest solution, much like including 3 different Hulk Hogan’s in 2006.Music and Commentary:Next up is the sound. In my humble opini.
