There are a lot of complicated button combos in this game and it took me and my kids a while to get the hang of things, but once we did, we had a good time with this game. There is a good selection of characters unlocked in the very beginning, so you don’t have to be someone unknown to start with and the different match styles and events as well as arenas are fun. This is one of the better wrestling games in my opinion.

Most annual release franchises try to dazzle gamers by adding a few new features, to a roster updated but otherwise unchanged, game. THQ and Yukes are one of the few companies that seem to take their game back to the drawing board each year and rebuild from the ground up. Smackdown vs. Raw ’07 is a truly an ambitious example of this trend and the end product is nothing short of amazing!!By far the largest change this year is the completely redone control scheme. Though this can initially be very jaring to long time fans who have been using the same controls for almost a decade to play Smackdown games, it truly IS for the best. Each year THQ has been trying to give the gamer increased control over what moves their wrestler performs in the ring while still maintaining an authentic on screen wrestling matches. This year the right analog stick gives you more control over what AND HOW certain moves are performed. For example, in the past a typical turnbuckle move was to mount and punch a guy 10 times. This was performed by pressing the right combo of buttons and was followed by a canned animation. In SVR ’07 you actually control how many times you punch your opponent by mimicking the punching motion and pressing up and down with the right analog stick. This may initially seem needlessly complicated but the on screen instructions make the appropriate button presses apparent in all environmental situations. The season and GM modes have also been improved upon but to me the most excit.

the videogame smackdown vs raw 2007 is based on picking a wrestler, going at it and fighting. then once they player wins they get money and after so many fights that the player has won they get to fight for the belt which shows that the player has defeted pretty much everybody, and in the game the player can use weapons or whatever they need to win. that is basically what they game is about.

This game has it all. Good graphics, good sound, a robust career mode, a deep CAW mode, optional control (face buttons or analog grapples), good music, an excellent roster, a plethora of moves, GM mode etc. This is probably the last good WWE game that was released other than SVR 2009 and 2011.Here’s my review-Graphics-The graphics are excellent, especially considering how limited the PS2 is in the graphical department. I really enjoy how full of impact each move actually looks. Certainly, while it doesn’t touch WWE smackdown Vs Raw (the first game), it certainly isn’t a slouch. Each wrestler are highly detailed and the arenas are nice to look at as well. With that said, there are a few gripes I had about this which are minor. Some wrestlers hair textures had clipping issues and although I used component cables, there was absolutely no difference in seeing this game with Component cables and an S-video cable other than it being slightly easier to see and perhaps the color being vibrant. Still, if you played SVR 2006, Or the first SVR game alongside HCTP, you’ll notice the resolution is a little lower in this game. Nothing major, but nothing not worth noting. I also have run into slight slowdown at times when the ring is filled, but this is far too rare. Just worth noting.I wasn’t exactly crazy about the game’s menu layout. I could care less about seeing WWE clips endlessly looping the side of the option selections, but it does change things up a bit. The graphics are actually rea.
