Japan’s mysterious, invisible creatures that are the physical embodiment of everyday problems come to the U.S. for the first time in Yo-Kai Watch. The story is set in the town of Springdale, where a young boy named Nate is out looking for insects, only to find a Yo-kai named Whisper. The mischievous creature gives Nate a special watch that lets him see other Yo-kai hidden throughout the game. You can find and befriend more than 200 uniquely skilled Yo-kai around Springdale, that is after defeating them in battle.

I have to say that I was expecting to get halfway through the game and just quit, but I like the franchise and really wanted to finish one of them. This one had a slightly tricker battle system than the past two, but the characters and storyline was SO much fun, I ended up really enjoying the entire game. It’s definitely worth the money and time. I played on my 3DS XL, and really appreciated having a larger screen to see all o the fun stuff they hide in each scene. There’s a lot to explore in this world, so be prepared to spend time with it. If you liked game 1 or 2, you’ll enjoy #3!

I got this for my 11yr old daughter at her request. She loves it, plays it all the time.

My son wanted this game so bad. He really enjoys the many levels.

I’m so glad that I bought this game on release day. I love the series and it’s an underrated gem on the 3DS. Too bad the game is already out of print. Of course, the resellers are marking up the game like always. I’m sure you can download it from the E-Shop but it sucks for us gamers who like to own an actual hard copy. It’d be nice if Nintendo printed up some more. As far as the game itself goes you won’t be disappointed. It’s great for returning fans and new fans alike.

I did not buy the game here, but at BB. I could not emphasize enough, just like all other YKW lovers, this series is so underrated. It did not get recognized enough in the 3DS world.I am just a casual gamer. That basically means I usually play games upto its 50% contents more or less which is until a point when the game became too complicated or too hard to get through. However, I did complete YKW1 and YKW2 Fleshy Souls, and had gone online to trade/battle with other players; I felt in love with this series.YKW3, just as all other reviewers had stated, is undoubtedly packed with contents. There are so many mini games here and there. Every turn and every episode has new things going on. They are so fun and refreshing. There are new tactics, too. The mechanism of the game also changed. I would not say it is better or worse, they are just different from YKW/YKW2. I am at the 8th hour of gameplay so I am not quite sure what lies ahead of me. Although they use the same map, I did not feel anything was being repeated perhaps it was because I had finished YKW2 too long ago and I kinda forgot where the things/buildings were.I love this game however there are still things that I need to address. Somehow I felt the developer forgot there are new players to this series. It seems they already assumed everyone already knew about Nate’s hometown (or where Hailey resides) and where every area/buildings were. There is a lack of exploring in the city which makes players felt.

After having a hard time looking for this game locally, I was able to find it on retrolio, it’s what I was expecting and arrived a little later then expected but happy to receive it. Must own for Yo-Kai watch fans.

So much to do, so much to see, so what’s wrong with taking the backstreets?

I like many the changes to the game from the second game, though like with any game there’s some bits I could do without. I’m happy we got a re-branded third version of the game, since street-pass is basically dead in the era of the Switch, but the neglect of the older handheld was also reflected in how hard it was to actually get a copy of the game (this is all hearsay, but I’ve heard some stores received a single copy).

If you liked the earlier games, you’ll enjoy the quirky goodness one has come to know and love from the YKW series. Some mechanics such as the battle system, yo-kai spotting and the crank-a-kai have been tweaked and reformulated, but at their center they continue to feel like the series, which is a good thing. The back-and-forth between the intertwined stories, in my opinion, keeps it interesting, and so far (15 hours in), while a grand narrative hasn’t quite coalesced, I’d be lying if I said that’s why I play these games. The lighthearted requests and quests work just fine for me, and we’ll see if there’s a wider point later. Also, a propos of nothing, I absolutely love the X Files shoutout.

Love it. Little confusing switching between characters at first.
