This game is surprisingly addicting! The instructions on how to play are very easy to follow. The pieces are made well, and all my friends have enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend for your game night!

This game is a new family favorite. We play it with mixed ages that range from 8-78 years old. We all love it. It’s easy to learn and its fun. I do think the cost is high for this game, but glad I bought it. It is restricted to only 5 players. It is a game you could purchase 2 games of and play all at the same time. Not all of our family can play at the same time for this reason. However I will not purchase 2 games so my whole family can play because of the price.

OVERVIEWIf a game creates enjoyment and laughter with you and your companions, then it has been a success. And that’s exactly what happened for us with Gold Fever. The first time it was played in our home, some teens learned it on their own, and their session was accompanied by whoops, hollering, cries of delight and frustration, and generally a whole lot of enthuiasm and noise. It was obvious to everyone that they were having a blast. When we joined them as adults, we found it fun too. The situation demanded something light, quick and fun, and Gold Fever was exactly the right game in those circumstances.GAME-PLAYIn this 15 minute push-your-luck game, everyone gets an identical drawstring bag filled with loot … and dirt: five gold nuggets, one of each gem (emerald, ruby), and four of each of gray, white, and black gravel. The idea is to be the first to draw out all five of your gold nuggets, which makes you an instant winner. And when drawing, you can end your turn at any point, banking any gold nuggets you’ve drawn that turn, and putting any gravel you’ve drawn that turn into another player’s bag. But there are some special rules about what happens when you draw particular stones. If you draw a second gravel of the same colour on your turn, your turn ends immediately, and you have to put everything you’ve dug up back into your bag – including any gold nuggets you may have already found that turn! With black gravel, other players get to put a stone from their bag into.

We had our friends come over this evening and they brought this game with them. Originally we intended to play with the four adults, but quickly our two young children wanted to get in on the action. We have a 4 and 6 year old – they had an absolute blast. It was so fun to see them light up and be so engaged in a game and get to spend quality time with them doing something that was enjoyable for everyone. Highly recommend this game for families with young kids!

If you happen to run across a review on YT by a very well known individual you can safely skip his "review". Why? This game is horrible and likely to disappoint those that expect let’s say a heavy Euro, a multi hour 4X game etc. However, the reviewer in the video despite all his knowledge of board gaming fails to look at the game from the perspective of the targeted audience. As a board gamer with a preference for games like LCG’s (Living Card Game), Euros and Dudes on a map style board games among others as well as step father to 4 children I spent several hours with 3 of them (ages 8, 11 and 14) playing Gold Fever. All I can say is this… I cannot remember the last time me and my significant other (who has for the most part the same board gaming preferences as I do) had so much fun, laughed so hard, simply had such quality time with the children. In a few hours this game help create great memorable moments. The price for the game is too high in my opinion, the only negative thing I have to say. The cost of Gold Fever became meaningless given its solid ability to create a joyful atmosphere in our home. Verdict: Gold Fever is worth it’s weight in gold.
