It is a great game of simulation.

  2. Daniel Robertson

5 stars for being such a great gameMinus 1 star for too much reliance on mods

I Love this game! Downloaded it from retrolio with no problems. The game has a very low learning curve, you can pick it up in no time. The cities are great and easy to build. I’ve always loved Sim City, but I liked this game even better.

  4. Christopher George

Best city builder since SC4. I am 100% in love with the game.

I tried it before I bought it (I don’t need to tell you how) and bought it at Fry’s Electronics for 1/2 price. It’s better than Sim City and Cities XL-XXL, If you are will to put effort into it there is a learning curve that made it frustrating for me. But after months of just letting sit on my computer I decided to finally give it a whirl and I love it. There are some mods that are desperately needed to make the game a lot more playable. and last count 76,000 mods available. 3/2/2019 After several attempts to play this game, I still haven’t quite got to play it. The whole subscribe to assets and mods is foreign to me because there is a site on the internet that has all the same mods without having to subscribe to anything. Is that wrong? Another thing I have 32gb of ram on my computer, my video card has 6 gb of ram, and I have an 8 core processor, but this game consumes at least 29gbs of ram and doesn’t sometimes doesn’t start. I have been told that’s because some mods or asset is been rendered poorly. Still using detective work to figure out the problem. but I’m certainly not spending a whole lot of time trying…

This is a classic city manager/builder game with the balance tipped slightly to the building portion. There are a ton of features from a map editor to a resource editor and a couple of DLCs that allow you to start the game with everything unlocked and an endless amount of cash. I haven’t had time to play with all the features but it looks like there will be plenty to keep a person busy when not actually playing the game. Getting started is easy enough although one weird quirk is that you have to lay down one single strip of road to unlock a few far more useful roads. It’s kind of an odd mechanic and I’m not quite sure what the point is. If you’ve played a city builder before you’ll be pretty familiar with the execution of this one. The UI is relatively clutter-free if not the most logically laid out. I spent a few minutes searching for this or that but nothing exceptionally frustrating. After some time spent playing it becomes second nature. Over all the game controls and interface are pretty well laid out and a lot of care was taken in the design. There are no real challenge modes to speak of, the goal is to build a functioning city with happy citizens, flowing traffic and a bank account that’s in the black (or green in this case). It’s relatively easy to accomplish those goals if you take a little time and pay attention to the “chirpey” app and small icons above the buildings. Chirpey (I think that’s the name) is an annoying version of Twitter and I found myself.
