Castlevania: Curse of Darkness is a fantastic 3rd person labyrinth exploration action game. While the game is in 3D, it has multiple branching pathways and has a huge castle to explore, just like in Symphony of the Night. It really feels like Konami took the 2D metroidvania Castlevania titles and put them into 3D. Just like in Symphony of the Night and the DS Castlevania titles you explore a huge castle while hacking and slashing your way through enemies. The hack and slash gameplay is very tight and addicting. It works really well and pulling off cool combos is really fun. The story and characters are just ok: the real reason you should play this is for the addicting castle exploration and hack n’ slash gameplay. The actual story is about Hector and he wants revenge on Dracula or something. To be honest the story lost me because the gameplay was just so much stronger than the story. Overall if you loved exploring castles in 2D, you will love exploring them in 3D, perhaps even more. I unlike many people actually prefer 3D Castlevania games because they suck you into their world with a huge emphasis on exploration. There are many times where you enter an area and there are 4 paths to choose from. Each path you choose will take you somewhere completely different and the game encourages you to explore everything because it has a percentage rate of how much of the area of the castle you have explored. It’s also worth noting that the boss battles are a lot of fun and they are very.

Castlevania Curse of Darkness on PS2 and XBOX. Hector fought all monster and dracula. I know Trevor Belmont from Castlevania III Dracula’s Curse on NES. I know new Castlevania on PS3 and XBOX 360 later this year or future. I have Castlevania, Gradius, Pac Man and Classic Video Games different since 1985. I know NES, Genesis, Playstation, PS2, Gamecube, Nintendo 64, Xbox, and different console. I like to new castlevania on PS3 and Xbox 360 future. I likely new castlevania different monster. I like to Dracula. I know really scare the monster. I know real frankenstein from electric. I know dreadful monster.

The game has you play as Hector a Devil forge Master who must regain his powers to claim revenge upon Isaac another Devil Forge Master who is linked to the death of hectors wife Rosalie. The time period is set 3 years after the events of Castlevania 3 Dracula’s Curse.Castlevania has always had issues claiming an Identity for itself in it’s 3D releases and living up to the legacy of it’s 2D games. Curse of Darkness is no exception to this. The games suffers from having some pretty generic hack and slash mechanics as well as mostly empty environments. The music helps add feel to the game that is otherwise lost. What makes this game truly worthy is Devil Forging. You will utilize beings called Innocent Devils which will help you reach new areas, solve puzzles, and even assist in combat. What makes this system so fun is that you will have a base Devil for each type in the game that can be evolved down multiple paths to create a plethora of Innocent Devils to fight at your side. There are many more features to the Devil Forging system that allow you to create some amazingly powerful devils to fight at your side.Weapon and armor crafting is also a feature of the game. Collecting various materials from slain enemies will allow you to create new weapons as you progress. you can craft multiple types of weapons like swords, axes, and spears. You can even create whips which is the iconic primary weapon of the Belmonts from this series. While the weapon crafting is not as in depth as devi.

I didn’t love the transition from a 2D side scroller to 3D on the N64, and Castlevania has had trouble making that transition. This game is fun, but it has it’s issues. Worth playing, though.

When I first played this game in 2005, when it was first released, I was underwhelmed. i got pretty far into the game and felt that it was lacking pace. It seemed as though I had played for days and had only reached 5% of the game. It was as confusing to me then as the sentence i just wrote. So I set it aside for months until i had the time to pick it up again. Castlevania and I go back to its birth many years ago so my main love for the game is its action. When I read that I had to create monsters to help aid me in my battle against dracula’s minions my mind instantly flashed to images of Pokemon or whatever that craze was that children were into at that time. I wasn’t looking forward to that aspect at all. The previous PS2 CV game left another concern of mine stuck in my brain that worried me for this new game. In the previous game I had a hard time remembering where I was heading and for what I was heading there for. So I had to consult my guide too many times for my liking just to make sure I found the next object in order to unlock a secret door that leads to another dimension to find the key to unlock a door all the way back at the beginning of the game just so you can be able to beat Dracula and get the super best-est ending. I buy the game guides because it deals with Castlevania. I do not look at them at every step of the way. That to me is lessening the experience of the game. For some reason though the first PS2 game just seemed to not get the exploration aspec.

the game is taking a hell of a lot of flack when it really isn’t that bad! the story is predictable, but it’s been established that the game of the bad guys in castlevania is to steal a man’s woman and watch him squirm. the music isn’t bad, i think of it as being like symphony of the night but with a slight dracula’s curse sound. two games in the series with the best music. as far as difficulty goes, it’s hard until you realize you should concentrate more on dodging than the offensive. in the fight with trevor, i thought it was impossible to get his life down. i later realized i had to watch for his weak points and move in. so if anything, that’s a better point in a game. in the process of that, i wasn’t getting angry with it because of the real fact that you’re fighting a belmont! so he was kicking the hell out of me, but i thought it was awesome. so yes it’s not the best castlevania ever made, because we all know which one that was. but this game really is what castlevania is when thrown into the third dimension. love it or hate it, just give it a chance.

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness is the best 3D Castlevania game ever made, and sadly the last Igarashi will make.Lament of Innocence, in many respects, has better mechanics, Castlevania 64: Legacy of Darkness (produced by Etsunobu Ebisu not Iga, but also a very capable producer) has the most replay value and a lot of exploration (but was still clunky largely owing to the technology of the time).CoD is true to the CV lore and gets the exploration mechanics that made CV2,3 and SotN, CotM, HoD and AoS so good. LoI, while also quite good, had a huge castle to explore with a fair number of secrets, but still felt a tad much like DMC and the rooms and level design were mildly repetitive. CoD fixes that by putting Castlevania back on its own footing.CoD has memorable characters, recognizable settings (the usual villages, castles etc) and while remaining true to the franchise roots (and connecting with series favorite Castlevania 3), establishes its uniqueness in the Castlevania canon with "Innocent Devils" which are collectible companions that come in a variety of different types, level and gain abilities with you, and tremendously add to the game and its replay value. There’s also a shop owner as memorable as the slightly shifty one from Symphony of the Night, though completely different as well as some light RPG elements. You sit down and play the game and it’s not "a Castlevania game like X/Y/Z" – it’s just a Castlevania game. Many Castlevania fans were somewhat rel.
