I brought this game for my daughter and she is 17 years old, she loves it. She can practice her drawing, and is fun for her.

A very cool "game" I am a doodler but couldn’t paint realistic things. Not sure that I can now either but going through the lessons and doing it virtually is very cool.

I don’t even want to call this a game, it really isn’t, it is a learning aid however. I want to describe some cool features I enjoyed. You have the ability to choose multiple media types(pencil, paint, etc), mix paints, wet area, choose different brushes, etc. That much is pretty standard fare. You also have the ability to save your pictures and place them on a gallery wall in the game, send them via street pass, or export them as a jpg on the sd card. I put the sd card in my digital camera and then imported the information from there. I’m sure there is an easier solution but that one worked for me. The other noteworthy option is the ability to take a photo from the sd card and use it as a reference for painting a picture in the game. Say you are going for a walk and decided to snap a photo and draw it on your ds. That is an option and it is an awesome functionality to have for free painting endeavors. As for the lesson’s themselves they really serve to introduce you to the painting techniques that will really help you in the long run. An example would be the first lesson, you use the tools to paint a cherry. It teaches you the techniques for easily creating a developed and well proportioned work of art. Another brilliant feature is the ability to use gridlines on both the reference and the drawing you are doing so you can ensure proper proportions.Even if you don’t do the lessons at all, it’s still a great tool to have for creativity on the go but the lessons are well mad.

This was such a good game, I had my doubts but I really love it. I have been sharing it with my family as we all love art, we kind of have a friendly competition going in the gallery. Really educational and not boring! I usually don’t like instructional art things where I have to do it a certain way, as in art classes at school, but the approach and the fact that you aren’t being judged or anything makes it very nice for all ages. i feel like my skills have improved playing this game, thinking about buying the Pokemon version for my boyfriend.

I have no artistic background and this game has really helped me to improve my drawing skills. I’m transferring what I’ve learned to actual painting and drawing and it’s looking better each time I practice. I recommend this game to any beginner looking to improve their skills.
