My daughter loves this program. She’s picked up some neat techniques and the ability to execute the lessons on the go on a mobile platform like the 3DS makes it a great pick for anyone who enjoys or would like to learn to draw/paint/etc.

Just what I want to foster my daughter art talents.

Yes to this, yes to all of this. I am a computer animation student and I use this to help keep my juices flowing on the go. It has great lessons for beginners and helps you make stuff that you didn’t think you could.Wish you could draw more than stick figures? get this game.

My wife got me this game as a Christmas present. I was unsure of it at first, but after a few minutes I’ve decided I really like it. It teaches the fundamentals of painting, something I’ve always wanted to get better at, and never fully understood. After a few basic lessons with this program, I’m excited and willing to try painting again without the DS (something I haven’t done in over 15 years. Just in the first couple of lessons, this game taught me the way to set up and lay out a good picture, draw the outline accurately, and explained it explained the uses of different size/shape brushes and methods to get the coloring and all that I want to have. Today I bought the equipment to carry over what I have learned into the real world with canvas and brushes! This is an excellent game for anyone who wants to sharpen their painting skills, or even just play around with painting without committing to the purchase of paints and canvases.

    My kids like it.

I bought a copy of this for my mother after using the game myself. We both enjoy it very much! (30s and 60s years old, respectively!)Even a total art doof can create impressive art by following the simple instructions. If you have any interest in learning new drawing skills or even if you already have drawing skills, this is a fun way to create and have a relaxing time. (As good as Adult Coloring Books!)Art lovers, enhance your skills! Newbies, you CAN get better at doing art.

I’m so glad I added this game to my collection. When I’m tired of collecting coins, beating bosses, and solving puzzles, this game comes to the rescue!I’m playing it on a 3ds XL so the resolution looks great and I have a nice big screen to paint on. I’ve done 3 lessons so far and I really love the way my paintings have turned out! There is even a cool 3D gallery you can ‘walk’ in and out of and frame your paintings in whatever room you chose. You even get a choice of frame styles. The tutorials are pretty good and you can skip through them quickly if you are a fast reader. There are also short art history segments that you can read through (or skip) and they give a nice background so you understand the reason you use certain techniques. There isn’t any scoring or right or wrong to the tutorials. The art teacher gives examples of how he will do the painting, but emphasizes that you should make each painting your own. Overall, I’m very happy with this game! (I’m 32 years old, but I think older kids who like art would like this game, too)

I really like this program. I am older and have had a lot of experience in practical drawing of objects I want to make or want to understand. So drawing a windmill is easier for me than painting a avocado for instance. Also coloring a scene like a water wheel with buildings, trees, and waterfall is hard for me because I am color challenged. Greys and greens look the same for example and in free drawing I have to have help identifing the colors. However, art is individual and what if what you draw or paint is for you and not mass publication what matters about the colors as long as they look good to you? I remember a Jack Nicolos golf course creation program. I made a background for a course with mountains, sky, water, trees, etc and sent it to another course designer out west that I met through the internet. He wrote back stating in better language “what the heck was that”. When my wife looked at it she broke out laughing because all the colors I saw in my background look different to someone who can see thousands of color variations. I am getting better from practice seeing the colors in the program and remembering what they are even though I am what is called color blind. I call it color challenged because I see color but variations of colors throw me. Unless the new color blindness corrective glasses come on the market soon I am stuck struggeling. That doesn’t stop me from enjoying this progrm though. It is a challenge and fun. I am indeed learning how to draw.

Very helpful! I always did well in High School Art Classes, but busy life …..didn’t have time for it. This brings it all back and I’m learning more. I have ever purchased some drawing paper and chalk. Looking forward to more.
